Managers of the Round Table – Fantasy Premier League 2014-15

Photo 22-04-2011 15 26 55We have gathered up six prestigious members / writers around Mito’s Round Table to answer a few quick fire questions in the lead up to the opening of the FPL season. They have been asked to make choices over some of the same key questions many of us are currently facing. As one would expect we got a wide range of varying answers, everything from a unanimous decision on formation to six different choices for Flop of the Year. See what our esteemed panel answered and please share your answers and views below, including that tricky last question. And don’t be shy; they sure weren’t when expressing their man crush.

Below is a self-described introduction to their FPL playing style.

Evening all, please RMT my 5,437th attempt 😉

De Gea (Murphy – Won’t be used)

Debuchy, Van Aanholt, Wisdom (N.Taylor) (Duff)

    Ramsey, Mata, Fabregas, Eriksen (Siggy)

    Rooney(v), Costa(c), Jelavic

    Thoughts?

      TheDreamers says:

Too much money in Siggy or Jelly sitting on the bench tat could be used elsewhere

      • MadHatter says:

Siggy will rotate with Jelavic as i will play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 depending on the fixture. Just don’t fancy having a 5th mid or a 3rd striker that i don’t have confidence in using. Cheers mate

      NIN says:

MadHatter – Interesting line up. Wisdom’s game time is in question, which is unfortunate because he’d be a great budget option. Other than that, i like it. If you could squeeze an extra 0.5m from somewhere to put into your defence then it’d be that bit better. Rotating 4.5m GK’s perhaps? Or as TD said already, slight downgrade of a mid. Good squad though.

      • MadHatter says:

Need at least one United player in defence and De Gea is my way in without worry of rotation. The other way is swapping Debuchy for Jones and getting 2 x 4.5m keepers to give me the extra 0.5m but i don’t like the sound of that really. Will just have to keep my eye on Wisdom and hope for the best as i don’t wanna mess with that midfield or forward line. Cheers NIN

      Pippin says:

MadHatter, this is the exact same front 8 I’ve more or less settled on (though I can’t afford Siggy due to more money tied up in defence). I think it’s strong!

Latest team – not lovin it

    Begovic/Mannone
Caulker, Davies (Hull), Davies (Spurs), Janmaat, Taylor (Swansea)
    Ramsey, Fabregas, Mata, Davis, Albrighton
    Costa, Giroud, Rooney

    Opinions?

You around Silvers? Just flicked you an email.

Hope you are enjoying your summers gents.

First draft. Lots to change I think!

    Krul Mannone

    Shaw Sagna Cahill Bruce Ferdinand

    Sánchez Henderson Yaya Puncheon Tiote

    Sturridge Diego Costa Zamora

      TheDreamers says:

hey James – Sagna wont play over Zab while Bruce is formation dependant.

dont think Zamora will play either. Lack of united players is a worry.

      Burnsy says:

      You too James.

GK’s are nice, rotate well but we don’t know if Mannone will be number one so keep an eye out.

I like the defence bar Sagna, it’s a nice idea but I cannot see him displacing Zabaleta early in the season.

Midfield is strong but Tiote is probably not the best 4.5m as whenever you play him he’ll probably only get you one point and he’ll end up getting suspended. Sanchez is a good risk, that could pay off handsomely and whilst some doubt Hendo, I really think he has the potential to shine this year. Yaya, need I say more.

Sturridge is a good sight but I think Rooney is needed there because of how strong uniteds fixtures are to begin with, you could easily drop Yaya to Hazard and then get RVP in there, but that’s personal preference.

Other than that, I like it.

      PvR says:

Hey mate, still winter over here, but looking forward to summer haha.

If I were you (which I’m not!) I would downgrade Yaya to Mata, and upgrade Henderson to Markovic/Sterling. I think your putting all of your eggs in one basket with Sanchez and Yaya, and if neither perform your in trouble. The rest looks good for now, perhaps Studge is a bit of a risk but you know that already.

Not sure what formation you would play tho… seems you have a lot of “good” players, which means you have to bring in cheapos like Tiote and Puncheon. I prefer to spread out my cash more evenly.

      Thanks gents.

Tbh I put in a team as I needed to sign up for the Banterbury league.

But I’ll definitely think about your suggestions.

Holy sh*t!! Where have you been James? Init and Mito said you’d be taken hostage by Potty and sold to Libya as part of an arms deal.
