Managers of the Round Table – Fantasy Premier League 2014-15

Photo 22-04-2011 15 26 55We have gathered up six prestigious members / writers around Mito’s Round Table to answer a few quick fire questions in the lead up to the opening of the FPL season. They have been asked to make choices over some of the same key questions many of us are currently facing. As one would expect we got a wide range of varying answers, everything from a unanimous decision on formation to six different choices for Flop of the Year. See what our esteemed panel answered and please share your answers and views below, including that tricky last question. And don’t be shy; they sure weren’t when expressing their man crush.

Below is a self-described introduction to their FPL playing style.

Vidal going to United? Passed medical and already agreed on personal terms. Transfer fee set at 47m pounds. >.<

Ravel Morrison charged with assault of a woman and remanded in custody – will this restrict his playing – I guess so?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has told Sky Sports News that Fernando Torres, who has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid, will not be sold this summer.

Great work on all the articles leading up to the season. I’ve been following the site for a while and thought it was about time I joined in with discussions and getting help etc.
I’ve changed my team so many times already, and all of them have looked ok. No doubt when the season kicks off we’ll all be wishing we picked that player we had in our teams, before swapping them out last minute.

    Mannone,
    Cameron, Shaw Davies,
    Ramsey, Fabregas, Sterling, Siggy,
    Costa, Lukaku, Rooney

    Krul, Marriapa, Albrighton, Wisdom

Or perhaps swap Lukaku for Giroud and Sterling for Silva

      Calvin Clyne says:

Solid effort CF. Keep an eye on Mannone, Marriapa and Wisdom, but they are good for the time being. Not convinced Sterling is worth 8.5 when you can have Mata or Silva for just 0.5 more, but then again he could light up the prem this year.

      KungFuKingCantona says:

Hello Evil CF 😉 You should keep an eye on the Mannone/Panti situation. We don’t really know who is the starter yet. As for Cameron I am not sure he is a definite starter anymore? Sterling is a bit expensive but he could well continue on his excellent form of last. If not you have one hell of a team!

      • CF loopreviL says:

Yeah, that was my worry. I put Sterling in because I’m a L’pool fan and feel like I need L’pool player in my team… No doubt it will be swapped and chopped before kick off.

        Thanks for the tips.

        • KungFuKingCantona says:

Would stay clear of Liverpool for the first few GW and then see how they fare. Maybe keeping an eye on Markovic. All the Liverpool camp seems bedazzled by him so he is on my radar… 😉 But yeah…2 weeks to go so you might have 11 different starters come 16th August! ha!

        • Demsie says:

          CF my man.. Welcome !

I’m a LFC fan myself and I’ve did a quick team this morning for the first time.. It wasn’t til i’d finished that I realised there was no LFC in it.. and to be fair, I think it’s pretty justified. We just don’t know how they are going to start, same as last year imo. I think we can agree it could go either way..

One thing I always (at least) try to do is take away any ‘feeling’ from the game.. Like “I should have a LFC player”, or “I hate Robbie Savage so i’m not having him in my team” or conversely “I want Gerrard’s babies so he’s in my team”..

          Just my 2 penneth..

        • Demsie, i’m not a liverpool fan but i think Sterlings place can be fully justified on form. I think you guys are going to be pretty exciting this season. Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge are going to get lots of fantasy points i think. But then, i struggle to spell cauliflower so what do i know. smile

        • CF loopreviL says:

Yeah, most of my teams up to now have had no L’pool player, but I couldn’t justify it… Maybe Lovren?

I’ve learnt the hard way with not putting players in my team before through hatred… ie… any United (scum) player. Ive learnt my lessons and will leave all emotion aside. I just always pray for United to get beat 4-3 with a Rooney hatrick. haha

        • You’re not alone Cauliflower,
Its a strange feeling when fantasy emotion overtakes your love for your team.
I cheered when my team conceded a goal last season as i knew my rival had doubled up on their defence!

Welcome to the site CF, well sort of, you lurker you. 😉 To be frank I share the same concerns as CC and Kung Fu, but those are not necessarily things that need changing, more like monitored. Get yourself an avatar and please hang around and join in on the conversation, happy to have you.

      Welcome Evil Califlower,
Don’t listen to all of that advice! Stick with Sterling! He will be amazing this year and Silva wil only play a few games before he gets injured.
The rest of the watchouts re Wisdom,Mannone etc are valid though. smile

Best defender at 5.5? I curently have Debuchy, cant really see any better option unless im missing something?!!

  6. 36

Hey Demsie ol’ boy, good to see you back. We like to cover all age groups on the site and we were definitely missing more in the old as dirt category.
