New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette

Hello and welcome to New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette. Welcome back to a brand-new season of Fantasy Premier League! The Transfer Window has been in full swing since the 1st of July with plenty new faces coming into the league giving us fantasy managers more options to pull our hair out over. In the coming weeks, we will see multiple drafts, probably all from Mitro, containing different combinations of some of these new faces so to make it easier for him and everyone else; below I have written up an analysis of some of those faces. With so much money flooding into the English League in the recent years we are seeing some ridiculous transfers and transfer fees up and down the divisions (Ruben Neves to Wolves for £15 million, anybody?!!!) In the below article we focus on Arsenal’s latest additions. Two players whom Arsenal fans hope can help them back to their promised land and a 4th place finish

Sead Kolasinac
Defender
FPL Price: £6.0m

New season but same old Arsenal!! Wenger is still in the hot seat but only time will tell if Arsenal can turn things around. Old Arsene has started early by bringing in a new left-back but obviously he didn’t let any funds leave the budgeting department by nabbing Sead Kolasinac on the free. Kolasinac is a 24-year-old from Bosnia who has spent the last 5 years at FC Schalke. In that time, he made 123 appearances scoring 4 goals and getting 13 assists. These stats don’t light the world on fire but Kolasinac is versatile and can play centre back, left midfield and defensive midfield. The versatility that Kolasinac offers should be a Godsend to Arsenal, manager and fans alike, as he can slot in whenever the inevitable injury crisis starts. Arsenal’s first six games see matches against Stoke, Bournemouth and West Brom which could be three clean sheets for the new recruit if he does in fact walk straight into the side but with the form Nacho Monreal was in at the end of last season it will be hard to tell what Arsene’s plans are! With Kieran Gibbs gone there is less competition for the Bosnian at left back but it’s still a wait and see in my opinion.

Alexandre Lacazette
Forward
FPL Price: £10.5m

Hold the phone, stop the presses!! That’s right lads and lassies the world as we know it is coming to an end! Arsenal have not only loosened the purse strings but cut them wide open by spending a club record fee of £53 million on Frenchman, Alexandre Lacazette. Lacazette may not have the gorgeous looks of the Frenchman we all know and love to hate, Olivier Giroud, but one would have to assume Lacazette is the younger replacement for Olivier. Lacazette has been linked with the English game for a long time now usually with rumours of a move to Liverpool but as usual they missed out and the highly rated striker decided he wanted a spin on the London Eye. Lacazette arrives with a lot of expectations on his shoulders and it is well deserved as the 26-year-old has played 275 times for OL Lyon scoring 129 times and assisting a further 43 goals which compared to Giroud is a lot better. In Giroud’s time at Arsenal he managed 2 less assists than Lacazette which isn’t bad but Giroud was worse in front of goal only scoring 98 times in 227 appearances. These stats should signify the end of Giroud at the Emirates and with interest coming from within England from Everton and West Ham or his home country, with Marseille and Lyon looking to attain his services Lacazette could find himself leading the Arsenal line in their hopes of returning to their throne, 4th place!

Michy scores again. Morata assist, apparently, after coming on not too long ago. Looks sharp.

So many teams could play two up top this season with the quality of their second strikers.

      Kop Warrior says:

They could but I wouldn’t expect many to play an old fashioned two up top.

      Mastermind FC says:

I miss the good old days of two up top. There are a few examples of it working well in recent years (Deeney and Ighalo) but no doubt most of the top teams will shy away from it once again.

      • It works if one of them is willing to sacrifice for the team. Costa and Falcao come to mind. Costa did most of the dirty work and Falcao took a lot of the glory on those Atletico teams.

        • Mastermind FC says:

Very true, some Prem examples of that dynamic – Crouch & Defoe, Heskey & Owen…but I digress!

It would certainly add another dimension from an FPL perspective, although it brings it’s own headaches. I remember having both Darren Bent and Kenwyne Jones in my team a good few years ago because I couldn’t decide which one to have!

          Not my greatest season that…

        • @Mastermind, S&S were fantastic. I had both as soon as Suarez was back from suspension. They were ridiculous together and it worked because both drifted wide when needed. They were absolutely great that year in FPL. I still remember writing this back in the day https://fantasyfootball247.co.uk/sturridge-vs-suarez/
Life was so easy with those two and Kun firing. Those 3 were set in stone as long as Sturridge was healthy.

        • Mastermind FC says:

Ah yes of course! I swear this game used to be easier. There was one time where I swear I had Suarez, RVP and Lambert up front for what felt like the whole campaign! Then there was ‘power 5’ midfield of Michu, Fellaini, Bale, Silva, Walcott, or something along those lines – my memory is failing me! I certainly recall the old FantasyFootballCheat site team advocating for it anyway.

        • Definitely, there was a certainly a very template midfield that year you’re talkin about. I am sure we will all find our way to very similar teams before too long. To some degree a lot of teams already look alike.

    Afternoon all,
I’m having great difficulty putting a team together whilst including both Kane and Sanchez!
How many of you are leaving Sanchez out of your squad?
(I only asked about Sanchez as there’s no way I’m dropping Kane ?)

i am. but if he’s on fire i will make place for him in my squad

      if he’s staying! ;p

      AT says:

Seems like a lot are, db. The main concern with him seems to be the uncertainty surrounding his future. Two big hitters is certainly doable though, who else are you wanting?

      • db says:

Here’s a first draft without Sanchez. Leaves room for defoe/firmino up front and a 5.0 mid?

        • db says:

This is a first draft, I’m pretty sure I’ll switch out Luiz for Alonso and I’ll also replace landing. I don’t like the fact there’s no Man u cover up front. Jeez this is tough!!!!

        • AT says:

db, this looks like a team one might actually want to make in order to tackle a hectic fixture schedule! However, as for fantasy I think it needs a fair bit of work. Unless you are planning on playing 5 at the back, there is a lot of wasted money in defence. If you are planning it, Baines’ fixtures certainly don’t lend themselves to selection! Your midfield again, whilst being stacked with several talented players, lacks fantasy assets all your friends will have – need some big hitters in there!

        • db says:

I will include a couple of players that weren’t in the PL last season but I’m also finding that difficult as well. One solution that pops to mind is sod it all and autofill then wc gw3 jib done laugh

        • db says:

Agree 100% AT, I didnt want to use the full 100k but was trying to invest the money in players rather than leave it in the bank therefore increasing my chances of benefitting from price rises. This is the team i had half an hour ago.

        • AT says:

I find listing the players you want, in the order you want them in, helpful – it’s amazing how quickly an infatuation with a player disappears when placed into perspective against the rest of the team!

      • db says:

Yes I’m going to have to figure something out or it’ll be another season where I switch players in and out 2 minutes before the deadline!

      • db says:

Oh and thanks for the advice AT

      Smash10 says:

Yeah fairly sure I’ll be going without both. Sanchez at 12 million is a lot especially when he was dropping very deep towards the end of last season to get the ball. I think he wants out as well

    hi guys rmt plz

    foster myhill
david luiz cedric lascelles bruno cranie
    kdb salah klaassen knockeart loftus-cheek
    lukaku kane gayle

    any advices?

    • 63.1

@Nauj, I like Klaassen quite a bit, but their fixtures tell me that he might be a better option after a couple of weeks and not off the bat. Perhaps drop him to a 7.0 option and use the .5 elsewhere. I would probably change RLC to Carroll, however you can wait on that and see if Palace looks set to use him as a starter or a bench player before you make the switch. If Siggy sells though, I definitely have Carroll though. If you are going to have a Brighton defender I probably have Suttner over any of them, if you prefer a CB then Duffy as he is the most likely to score off headers. Suttner though is good going forward and could be on some set pieces.

      • nauj says:

thnks mate, i like klassen, he can be a real threat against any teams, his fixtures are tight thats rght.i will thnk about it.
I just took suttner in bruno’s place, thnks for ur advices!

I am new to this site and already finding this place wonderful with all the quality articles and posts. Looking forward to read all the articles and be around here through out the season.
How is everybody’s team coming along? What is the template you guys are looking at so far?

    both WBA keepers
    Cedric – Trippier – * – * – *
    Coutinho – Alli – Willian – * – *
    Lukaku – Kane – * ?

    Cheers!

Manuel Lanzini – valid 7m option if Chica comes in above the 8m bracket?

    • 66.1
      Ceci says:

Yes, Arnautovic is another WHM option to consider.

    • 66.2

Lanzini most certain to play behind him.
Last season tended to be the enabler or assist to assist tho
Antonio & Ayew were scoring more ppg, but.. its another season and they’ve not had someone up front that far below the clouds in a long time.

Oh on the subject of WHU – one of their fans is now going to look a complete silly arse, literally.
10th Jul tweeted he’d get the chairmans face tattooed on his backside if they signed both Arnautovich & Hernandez. But he tweeted it to the chairmans son – who yesterday re tweeted it for the world…
