New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette
Hello and welcome to New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette. Welcome back to a brand-new season of Fantasy Premier League! The Transfer Window has been in full swing since the 1st of July with plenty new faces coming into the league giving us fantasy managers more options to pull our hair out over. In the coming weeks, we will see multiple drafts, probably all from Mitro, containing different combinations of some of these new faces so to make it easier for him and everyone else; below I have written up an analysis of some of those faces. With so much money flooding into the English League in the recent years we are seeing some ridiculous transfers and transfer fees up and down the divisions (Ruben Neves to Wolves for £15 million, anybody?!!!) In the below article we focus on Arsenal’s latest additions. Two players whom Arsenal fans hope can help them back to their promised land and a 4th place finish
Sead Kolasinac
Defender
FPL Price: £6.0m
New season but same old Arsenal!! Wenger is still in the hot seat but only time will tell if Arsenal can turn things around. Old Arsene has started early by bringing in a new left-back but obviously he didn’t let any funds leave the budgeting department by nabbing Sead Kolasinac on the free. Kolasinac is a 24-year-old from Bosnia who has spent the last 5 years at FC Schalke. In that time, he made 123 appearances scoring 4 goals and getting 13 assists. These stats don’t light the world on fire but Kolasinac is versatile and can play centre back, left midfield and defensive midfield. The versatility that Kolasinac offers should be a Godsend to Arsenal, manager and fans alike, as he can slot in whenever the inevitable injury crisis starts. Arsenal’s first six games see matches against Stoke, Bournemouth and West Brom which could be three clean sheets for the new recruit if he does in fact walk straight into the side but with the form Nacho Monreal was in at the end of last season it will be hard to tell what Arsene’s plans are! With Kieran Gibbs gone there is less competition for the Bosnian at left back but it’s still a wait and see in my opinion.
Alexandre Lacazette
Forward
FPL Price: £10.5m
Hold the phone, stop the presses!! That’s right lads and lassies the world as we know it is coming to an end! Arsenal have not only loosened the purse strings but cut them wide open by spending a club record fee of £53 million on Frenchman, Alexandre Lacazette. Lacazette may not have the gorgeous looks of the Frenchman we all know and love to hate, Olivier Giroud, but one would have to assume Lacazette is the younger replacement for Olivier. Lacazette has been linked with the English game for a long time now usually with rumours of a move to Liverpool but as usual they missed out and the highly rated striker decided he wanted a spin on the London Eye. Lacazette arrives with a lot of expectations on his shoulders and it is well deserved as the 26-year-old has played 275 times for OL Lyon scoring 129 times and assisting a further 43 goals which compared to Giroud is a lot better. In Giroud’s time at Arsenal he managed 2 less assists than Lacazette which isn’t bad but Giroud was worse in front of goal only scoring 98 times in 227 appearances. These stats should signify the end of Giroud at the Emirates and with interest coming from within England from Everton and West Ham or his home country, with Marseille and Lyon looking to attain his services Lacazette could find himself leading the Arsenal line in their hopes of returning to their throne, 4th place!

The Fixture Tracker…
Evening guys what are your thoughts on Azpil v Alonso who & why 😉
Out of the 2, Azpil. He only got 7pts less than Alonso but saves you 0.5m. I’ve gone for Luiz at the moment as hes only 6.0m. Looking at going for Courtois and ditching Luiz for Chelski defensive cover as hes only 5.5m and saves another 0.5m.
Well, he also played over 700 more minutes than Alonso. I think if you are saving 1.0 with Luiz that is one thing, but if your only saving .5, I try and get Alonso if possible.
LOOK AT THE MINUTES PEOPLE 😉
Alonso and a fit Kompany are superb value for money in my opinion.
I’m going Courtois and Bailly I think it covers both United and Chelsea and is the cheapest most nailed on route I can think off.
Matt it’s not just about cover Bailey doesn’t give any attacking option , where as Alonso & Azpil both should be played as wingbacks 😉
That’s true. Alonso at 7 mil is just a lot of money for a defender.
Matt thk of him as a MF player could change your mind
Alonso,
His points per game are way way ahead of anyone classed as DEF.
If he starts the season & plays as much as Azpi did he will be a country mile ahead.
If he had that last season he would have been level with Kane,Haz & Alli in 3rd on 224 just behind Sanchez.
He could be 8.5mn & still be worth it.
Would you say Alonso was essential then?
I remember this discussion years ago on Baines. There was an article out there from an fpl site, from Kyle Shaughnessy, he wrote it right before the 13/14 season, I believe. He use to come on FFC occasionally back in the day. He made a great case for him, think it would probably be a similar case to this one. Except Alonso is not on pens, which is a big thing, but he offers more open play goal potential than Baines ever has. Plus Morata is deadly in the air, so it could help Alonso with his assists.
Here is the article http://fantasyfootballpundits.com/fantasy-football-leighton-baines-is-the-everton-defender-worth-having-in-your-team/
Interesting article thanks. I hate spending that amount on a defender though
This Chelsea team is better defensively than that Everton team which is another plus for Alonso.
Alonso is worth the extra 0.5 over Azpil. Luiz/ Courtois is a different story as there are arguments for saving the money. Is Bailly nailed I’m not so sure
I see the point about minutes. It all depends if you need arf a mill somewhere else. As in 3rd striker.
Where else can 0.5mn get you a player in the top 4 points?
How’s everyone today? Still tinkering, hoping for an RMT? Sorry screenshots not cooperating at work.
Team 1:
Foster/ Myhill
Azpi, Trippier, Cedric, Holgate, Cranie
Alli, Coutinho, Fabregas, Tadic, Carroll
Lukaku, Kun, Gayle
Team 2:
Courtois, Elliot
Trippier, Cedric, Tomkins, Holgate, Cranie
KDB, Alli, Coutinho, Tadic, Carroll
Lukaku, Jesus, Morata
Team 2 I think Colriles.
Team 2 for me also, but I watch Holgate to make sure he is the starter now that they bought Martina and have Kenny.
Yes team two Colriles very strong team 😉
Team 2 too. Watch Holgate, especially given that I can’t see Cranie starting.
Is team 2 possible? Budget and that
Maybe he took out a loan? 😉
I think we could all do with a fantasy loan. Pay it off by encouraging Mitro to take more hits
No wonder we all voted for team 2, it’s £4.5m over hahaha.
I quite like my team with Alonso, Sanchez, De Bruyne, Aguero, Kane and Lukaku too Col 😉
Jesus should be JRod in Team 2.
😆 hahaha guess I posted too soon!! ps – I quit fpl.
and emojis.
Just put this together now. What do you all think? Few questions in my mind about Morata, Luk and Sane but overall I’d be happy starting the season with this.
I like it. Looks pretty safe. Sane won’t play every week and not sure if JWP starts. Can’t argue against the rest
Yeah I’m unsure about Sane but if I was Pep, Sane plays every week. A for JWP I just have a gut feeling that he’ll have a brilliant year. I can’t explain it. I could also do Gayle to J.rod and that gives me the extra 0.5 to upgrade Azpi to Alonso or JWP to Ritchie if need be.
Yes agree with Smash maybe Walters instead of JWP not sure str swap or Snoddy not sure on Sanes game time but looks good 😉
I’m going to wait and see about JWP but like I was saying to Smash have a gut feeling. Walters is a straight swap though so I have an easy out.
Snodgrass shouldn’t play much for West Ham, wouldn’t be surprised if he got sent to The Championship, where he probably belongs.
Was his spell at Hull a purple patch that so many fly by nights get never to happen again.
Lambert,…. et al
Or is he just waiting to get his mojo back now his familty are settled ‘darn Sarff’ ?
Tiger, not sure where he fits in at West Ham now they have Arnie & prob Chicharito. Ayew sniffing for a start also but its hard to dislodge Arnie, Lanzini & Antonio behind the striker.
Thoughts on Lindelhof? Not seeing him in as many teams? I have noticed Jones seems to be playing with Lindelhof. I think Smalling is 4th choice but not sure who’s going to start out of Lindelhof, Bailly and Jones
Lindelof has been terrible in preseason so I wouldn’t be sure he starts.
Smash Not sure he’s worth having although he does take some direct free kicks I thk there are better attacking options @ 5.5m
Hmm may have to look elsewhere. Heard he’s not looked great. Though this is the sort of stuff that always changes
Indeed Smash. Wouldn’t pay so much just to bench him all season because of two bad pre-season games.
Cheers Matt for your help
My Team looks like this now gentlemen
Hey nishant this is a good team we can’t have everyone keep an eye on Ram I like the Willian pick one thk I would do is swap Yedlin to Mee Bur & WBA give you 8 fairly comfortable home games on the bounce rest look solid 😉
No LFC attack Nish.
LFC attack is needed!!
That’s the one I might avoid. Not sure on the value and who will get the most points there
It’s hardly essential 😉
I noticed the two who said it.
Can’t remember who the fpl champion didn’t bother with last season…
The way Liverpool are attacking in preseason though is incredible. I can see the argument that it will be hard to pick the right one but for me its either Salah or Couthino.
At this stage of the season no one player is essential nor is cover from any one team essential.
You can add Mane in there as well to further confuse everything. At least last season they were all cheaper now they are an expensive lottery to who performs each week
But last season they took it in turns to score 1,2 or 10; by the time you’d transferred in hot mustard it was cold custard again.
Round & round
Have to stick & pray or buy all 3
Prefer a bit of regularity myself
I expect it to be the same again this season
Latest draft. Option with low level DEF. thoughts?
Jags and Daniels to Francis and Trippier and I like it
Good team. It’s funny as I was about to have a play with a more robust defensive one, a sort of pick and leave with crap subs approach! I’ll see what that looks like later and try and post it on here as a comparison.
Jags may not be 1st choice now btw. I’d expect it to be Keane and Williams really. Unless we plump for 3 at the back which is still a possibility.
Dier to Carroll,Romeu
Jags to Keane?
