New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette

Hello and welcome to New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette. Welcome back to a brand-new season of Fantasy Premier League! The Transfer Window has been in full swing since the 1st of July with plenty new faces coming into the league giving us fantasy managers more options to pull our hair out over. In the coming weeks, we will see multiple drafts, probably all from Mitro, containing different combinations of some of these new faces so to make it easier for him and everyone else; below I have written up an analysis of some of those faces. With so much money flooding into the English League in the recent years we are seeing some ridiculous transfers and transfer fees up and down the divisions (Ruben Neves to Wolves for £15 million, anybody?!!!) In the below article we focus on Arsenal’s latest additions. Two players whom Arsenal fans hope can help them back to their promised land and a 4th place finish

Sead Kolasinac
Defender
FPL Price: £6.0m

New season but same old Arsenal!! Wenger is still in the hot seat but only time will tell if Arsenal can turn things around. Old Arsene has started early by bringing in a new left-back but obviously he didn’t let any funds leave the budgeting department by nabbing Sead Kolasinac on the free. Kolasinac is a 24-year-old from Bosnia who has spent the last 5 years at FC Schalke. In that time, he made 123 appearances scoring 4 goals and getting 13 assists. These stats don’t light the world on fire but Kolasinac is versatile and can play centre back, left midfield and defensive midfield. The versatility that Kolasinac offers should be a Godsend to Arsenal, manager and fans alike, as he can slot in whenever the inevitable injury crisis starts. Arsenal’s first six games see matches against Stoke, Bournemouth and West Brom which could be three clean sheets for the new recruit if he does in fact walk straight into the side but with the form Nacho Monreal was in at the end of last season it will be hard to tell what Arsene’s plans are! With Kieran Gibbs gone there is less competition for the Bosnian at left back but it’s still a wait and see in my opinion.

Alexandre Lacazette
Forward
FPL Price: £10.5m

Hold the phone, stop the presses!! That’s right lads and lassies the world as we know it is coming to an end! Arsenal have not only loosened the purse strings but cut them wide open by spending a club record fee of £53 million on Frenchman, Alexandre Lacazette. Lacazette may not have the gorgeous looks of the Frenchman we all know and love to hate, Olivier Giroud, but one would have to assume Lacazette is the younger replacement for Olivier. Lacazette has been linked with the English game for a long time now usually with rumours of a move to Liverpool but as usual they missed out and the highly rated striker decided he wanted a spin on the London Eye. Lacazette arrives with a lot of expectations on his shoulders and it is well deserved as the 26-year-old has played 275 times for OL Lyon scoring 129 times and assisting a further 43 goals which compared to Giroud is a lot better. In Giroud’s time at Arsenal he managed 2 less assists than Lacazette which isn’t bad but Giroud was worse in front of goal only scoring 98 times in 227 appearances. These stats should signify the end of Giroud at the Emirates and with interest coming from within England from Everton and West Ham or his home country, with Marseille and Lyon looking to attain his services Lacazette could find himself leading the Arsenal line in their hopes of returning to their throne, 4th place!

Any love for Sane on here? Class player. I fear rotation. Where can Bernardo Silva play? Surely KDB has no.10 nailed?

Hey AT. I am thinking of going with either Pedro and Jesus or Morata and Sane so definitely on my radar. B Silva can play on either wing or as a CM so I personally think City line up like this:

      Ederson
      Walker Kompany Mendy
      Bernardo, Fernandinho, KDB, Silva, Sane
      Jesus, Kun

      • AT says:

Hi Matt, and cheers for the recent articles! Surely not a back three with two attacking full backs in it? Only have two defensively-minded outfielders there!

        • Matt says:

No worries mate. You are probably right but the only one I would drop in that XI is David Silva so maybe they take him out for Otamendi or Stones. Pep is very attacking and City played so much better when Sane played last season.

        • You don’t buy Mendy or Walker and play them as CBs. Think if you bought them two you either play them as wing backs or you play a back four.

My City mate said Pep was very unpredictable and when prompted for City’s xi, he guessed this.

          Ederson
          Walker, Kompany, Stones, Mendy
          Yaya
          B.Silva, KdB, D. Silva, Sane
          Jesus

He did however say that he expected Jesus and Kun to get similar minutes on their own and together. Basically stating at the end that the only certainties for City would be Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Mendy and potentially KdB.

I found that whole conversation a bit disturbing, as I want City attacking cover in my front 3. smile

        • Matt says:

Dammit seriously? I really wanted some sort of City attack but KdB is really expensive.

        • Smash10 says:

How I see City lining up
          Ederson
Walker Stones Kompany and Mandy in defence
          Midfield of Silva, KDB, Fernandinho
With Aguero, Through the middle and Jesus off left with Sane on right. With a fair bit of rotation everywhere don’t think anyone is safe

        • I love to see them roll out a 4-1-3-2 with Kun and Jesus up top, but who the hell knows with Pep. Walker could be the striker 😉

        • Smash10 says:

I think Pep did try that a couple of times so could happen. Looking at their midfield I don’t even think KDB is completely safe. Heard even Nasri has gone on tour

Ok which looks better? Also can downgrade Luiz and upgrade Ritchie or keep him?

    Thoughts on this?

People actually going with Firminho as striker? I mean, he didn’t really do the bus as he could have when he was rated as a midfielder and playing as a striker. Just think now. I’d prefer someone like Austin over him.

i have a hard dilema i have 4 teams of the top 6 covered i Kane Lukaku Willian and Salah and want to cover city too:
KDB+6.5 striker/Jrod and upgrade Dawson into lindelof
    OR
Jesus+6 million mid- like stanislas or something

      Rosco77 says:

Depends on how the rest of your team looks, in isolation it could go either way in terms of how often any of those 4 play. Theoretically KDB is the safest city Mid so he may slightly edge it over Jesus who may be pushed out wide to accommodate Kun. Then it comes down to who gets more playing time between Stan or J-Rod which is anyones guess!
If it helps I currently have Jesus and Stan!

      • Smash10 says:

Not convinced by J Rod or Stanislas to be honest. J Rod has not been playing up top he’s been behind Rondon. Stanislas showed how inconsistent he is last season and is not guaranteed to start

    My lasted draft
    I’m thinking about Willian…. smile

    • 18.1

Haha, You might the first person I have seen post a team with his XI for anything other than GW1. You miles ahead of us @Wazzalam

That looks like a nice front 8, but we can almost guarantee you it will be come frustrating as heck when you start sitting the wrong guy. I just feel like the money is better used on the field if possible in particular at the start when we have no value built up.
