New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette

Hello and welcome to New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette. Welcome back to a brand-new season of Fantasy Premier League! The Transfer Window has been in full swing since the 1st of July with plenty new faces coming into the league giving us fantasy managers more options to pull our hair out over. In the coming weeks, we will see multiple drafts, probably all from Mitro, containing different combinations of some of these new faces so to make it easier for him and everyone else; below I have written up an analysis of some of those faces. With so much money flooding into the English League in the recent years we are seeing some ridiculous transfers and transfer fees up and down the divisions (Ruben Neves to Wolves for £15 million, anybody?!!!) In the below article we focus on Arsenal’s latest additions. Two players whom Arsenal fans hope can help them back to their promised land and a 4th place finish

Sead Kolasinac
Defender
FPL Price: £6.0m

New season but same old Arsenal!! Wenger is still in the hot seat but only time will tell if Arsenal can turn things around. Old Arsene has started early by bringing in a new left-back but obviously he didn’t let any funds leave the budgeting department by nabbing Sead Kolasinac on the free. Kolasinac is a 24-year-old from Bosnia who has spent the last 5 years at FC Schalke. In that time, he made 123 appearances scoring 4 goals and getting 13 assists. These stats don’t light the world on fire but Kolasinac is versatile and can play centre back, left midfield and defensive midfield. The versatility that Kolasinac offers should be a Godsend to Arsenal, manager and fans alike, as he can slot in whenever the inevitable injury crisis starts. Arsenal’s first six games see matches against Stoke, Bournemouth and West Brom which could be three clean sheets for the new recruit if he does in fact walk straight into the side but with the form Nacho Monreal was in at the end of last season it will be hard to tell what Arsene’s plans are! With Kieran Gibbs gone there is less competition for the Bosnian at left back but it’s still a wait and see in my opinion.

Alexandre Lacazette
Forward
FPL Price: £10.5m

Hold the phone, stop the presses!! That’s right lads and lassies the world as we know it is coming to an end! Arsenal have not only loosened the purse strings but cut them wide open by spending a club record fee of £53 million on Frenchman, Alexandre Lacazette. Lacazette may not have the gorgeous looks of the Frenchman we all know and love to hate, Olivier Giroud, but one would have to assume Lacazette is the younger replacement for Olivier. Lacazette has been linked with the English game for a long time now usually with rumours of a move to Liverpool but as usual they missed out and the highly rated striker decided he wanted a spin on the London Eye. Lacazette arrives with a lot of expectations on his shoulders and it is well deserved as the 26-year-old has played 275 times for OL Lyon scoring 129 times and assisting a further 43 goals which compared to Giroud is a lot better. In Giroud’s time at Arsenal he managed 2 less assists than Lacazette which isn’t bad but Giroud was worse in front of goal only scoring 98 times in 227 appearances. These stats should signify the end of Giroud at the Emirates and with interest coming from within England from Everton and West Ham or his home country, with Marseille and Lyon looking to attain his services Lacazette could find himself leading the Arsenal line in their hopes of returning to their throne, 4th place!

Read a few different rumours this morning that suggest Liverpool and Southampton are back in negotiations for VVD. Personally think he is exactly what Liverpool need at CB and should be made their No.1 target.

Hey guys, great to be back and have just started looking at 1st of 100 pre-season drafts.

I havent seen much talk about Pogba. I’m thinking he’s gonna link up great with Luk and for 8mil seems a bargin. Any thoughts?

Welcome back Ali. How are you mate?

I would want to see how Pogba does first before bringing him in. I said last season he would be crap and he was this year I don’t see much improvement yet but it’s early stages.

      • ohyesali says:

Not bad fella. Hoping for a sustained title challenge from Klopp and the boys this season. Think if we get VVD we might just be in with a chance. While Keita would be a good signing, 70mil+ is just too much in my eyes and should hold out till next season to get a better understanding of the player and only pay 48.

You thinking Lukaku or Morata ? Im leaning towards Luk.

        • Matt says:

I think the title is still awhile away. Until Liverpool shore up that defence it’s not going to happen. Maybe if VVD does come in then they have a bit more of a chance but I think it will be City and Chelsea this year. I’d wait for Keita as Henderson is playing amazingly at DM so far and we already have so many midfielders I’d prefer to focus on defence right now.

As for Luk vs Morata. I’m currently thinking of trying to have them both but Luk is the one that’s been in all my drafts. Bit wary of whether he will screw us all over though.

    Hey guys,
I’ve come up with this lot for now. Any suggestions?

I am really starting to wonder if Lindelof is going to start GW1, he has not looked good the few minutes I have seen him this pre-season. Just keep a watch on that.

Rest looks fine, think that I definitely want one LFC attacking player, but I do worry that their opening 9 fixtures are not as easy as some other teams. They play Arsenal, City, United and Spurs and 3 of their easier games are away, so those can be tricky at times, although you still expect them to score, I guess.

Plus you have no bench, at all.

      migs says:

Man u man, nice looking team. Havent seen many with Eriksen in it, so he could be a great differential. I am not sure about Firmino up front, just because of his positional change and I think our midfielders could be better value. So you could go Firmino to a lower value forward and thne that will allow you to upgrade Ritchie to a Chelsea mid perhaps. Just to allow you to spread the cover. Otherwise if you certain on going with two pool players, then the team looks set up nicely. But as Mito said, Lindelof is one to watch.

    Mitro says:

    Gents

What do you reckon to this?

      AT says:

We can all make that team if we effectively sacrifice a bench 😉
Depends how you like playing it. I prefer bench cover. Haven’t done any research into it to give an objective answer though.

      Also considering double Soton.

    • 10.2

Hey Mitro, why Simpson? Doesn’t look like he is a rotation partner to anyone and Leicester’s fixtures are beyond terrible. Rest looks great though, assuming you never need a defender to sub in.

      • Mitro says:

        Mito

Yeah I know, you got any other suggestions for 4.5? Could maybe get in a Newcastle defender?

        • migs says:

Mitro, how much of the Arsenal pre season have you seen? Seen quite a few teams on here without Arsenal cover, and I myself dont have any at this point with the issue being that I dont back any of their midfielders (apart from Sanchez but not sure on his future yet) and then with lacazette, there are similar priced forwards that have been favoured. Ramsey has been the only popular choice amongst people, has he impressed or is just to make sure there is some form of Arsenal cover?

        • You might be right on Simpson, only other 4.5 options I can think of based on fixtures would be Huddersfield or Newcastle players who probably won’t be much better if at all than Simpson. Would say Lowe from Huddersfield because there is a chance he could take pens, but they don’t seem to be great defensively and he might not start anyway. Newcastle has done virtually nothing to strengthen their side yet, so they could really struggle, although it is Rafa so he might be able to snag a couple of clean sheets based on tactics. Maybe a Palace defender if you think you will have moved for someone else come GW6 so you don’t have to deal with their terrible turn of fixtures.

        • Mitro says:

          Migs

My earlier teams have had lacazette but looking at Man U fixtures and lukakus record against West Ham I’ve decided to go with him!

The Ramsey punt is a bit of both to be honest! Really think he’s going to have a big season for us if he stays fit!

        • migs says:

Cheers Mitro. I suppose he is competing with the likes of Willian for that 7mill mid spot anyway. Gonna have to monitor further and then decide on fixtures. Would be nice to get the Ramsey of 3 seasons ago back.

        • @Mitro how do you see Arsenal lining up come GW1? Not what you hope, what you think they actually will.

          Cech
          Mustafi, Kos, Monreal
          Bellend, Xhaka, Rambo, Kolasinac
          Ozil Laca, Alexis

          Does that look right?

        • Kunal says:

Bellerin and Ox could be interchanged

        • @Kunal, yeah I have Ox as a possible replacement for Bellerin, just trying to figure out the GW1 team and I am slightly favouring Bellerin for now, unless someone really feels like it will be Ox come GW1.

        • migs says:

If that is the team then Rambo would be great value! only problem is the IF….

        • inittowinit says:

Mito, Kos is suspended until Aug 27th. We’ll probably see Holding or Mert in that spot for GW1.

      • Kunal says:

@Mito21 Ox was terrific in the position but Bellerin was always attack minded so this position could be gold for him.Hard to say

    • 10.3

Forster to Foster would allow Simpson -> 5.0

      PunkDragon says:

This team looks strong; perhaps because it looks eerily similar to what I have at the moment. I don’t like the fact that there is no Chelsea cover in defense though or that there is no Spurs attack. I think one of Alli or Kane is a must. Ramsey is providing an easy way into an Arsenal cover, but really, I don’t know why he is thought of as a way to get points. Newcastle’s Ritchie is probably a better bet. Nice team, weak bench. But that’s the way some of us roll.

    migs says:

Man City confirm the signing of Mendy. how attacking are we expecting pep to be with his fullbacks? Should we be considering Walker and Mendy?

    • 12.1

They will bomb forward and as long as Kompany is around they should keep some clean sheets, problem is if they cost more than Kompany, it be hard for us to justify the extra money on them over Kompany, heck if they are the same price it be hard to take them over him.

Here is one of Mendy’s quotes, should tell you everything you need to know really.

“They are one of Europe’s leading clubs and in Pep Guardiola they have a manager committed to playing attacking football.”
