New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette
Hello and welcome to New FPL Transfers Arsenal Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette. Welcome back to a brand-new season of Fantasy Premier League! The Transfer Window has been in full swing since the 1st of July with plenty new faces coming into the league giving us fantasy managers more options to pull our hair out over. In the coming weeks, we will see multiple drafts, probably all from Mitro, containing different combinations of some of these new faces so to make it easier for him and everyone else; below I have written up an analysis of some of those faces. With so much money flooding into the English League in the recent years we are seeing some ridiculous transfers and transfer fees up and down the divisions (Ruben Neves to Wolves for £15 million, anybody?!!!) In the below article we focus on Arsenal’s latest additions. Two players whom Arsenal fans hope can help them back to their promised land and a 4th place finish
Sead Kolasinac
Defender
FPL Price: £6.0m
New season but same old Arsenal!! Wenger is still in the hot seat but only time will tell if Arsenal can turn things around. Old Arsene has started early by bringing in a new left-back but obviously he didn’t let any funds leave the budgeting department by nabbing Sead Kolasinac on the free. Kolasinac is a 24-year-old from Bosnia who has spent the last 5 years at FC Schalke. In that time, he made 123 appearances scoring 4 goals and getting 13 assists. These stats don’t light the world on fire but Kolasinac is versatile and can play centre back, left midfield and defensive midfield. The versatility that Kolasinac offers should be a Godsend to Arsenal, manager and fans alike, as he can slot in whenever the inevitable injury crisis starts. Arsenal’s first six games see matches against Stoke, Bournemouth and West Brom which could be three clean sheets for the new recruit if he does in fact walk straight into the side but with the form Nacho Monreal was in at the end of last season it will be hard to tell what Arsene’s plans are! With Kieran Gibbs gone there is less competition for the Bosnian at left back but it’s still a wait and see in my opinion.
Alexandre Lacazette
Forward
FPL Price: £10.5m
Hold the phone, stop the presses!! That’s right lads and lassies the world as we know it is coming to an end! Arsenal have not only loosened the purse strings but cut them wide open by spending a club record fee of £53 million on Frenchman, Alexandre Lacazette. Lacazette may not have the gorgeous looks of the Frenchman we all know and love to hate, Olivier Giroud, but one would have to assume Lacazette is the younger replacement for Olivier. Lacazette has been linked with the English game for a long time now usually with rumours of a move to Liverpool but as usual they missed out and the highly rated striker decided he wanted a spin on the London Eye. Lacazette arrives with a lot of expectations on his shoulders and it is well deserved as the 26-year-old has played 275 times for OL Lyon scoring 129 times and assisting a further 43 goals which compared to Giroud is a lot better. In Giroud’s time at Arsenal he managed 2 less assists than Lacazette which isn’t bad but Giroud was worse in front of goal only scoring 98 times in 227 appearances. These stats should signify the end of Giroud at the Emirates and with interest coming from within England from Everton and West Ham or his home country, with Marseille and Lyon looking to attain his services Lacazette could find himself leading the Arsenal line in their hopes of returning to their throne, 4th place!

The Fixture Tracker…
I hate picking a team too early but here is my first. Been mulling over it for a while so would be good to here some comments on it. Blind is obviously a question mark – if it is not clear who will be LB I will switch him (maybe DDG and Cedric instead of Forster and Blind/Darmian). Rashford another obvious question mark. Lukaku missing could be an undue risk.
Oh yeah, and McQueen and Hegazi are just there as a sort of watchlist at the moment, depending on transfers, injury and pre-season.

AT
Having both Jesus and Rashford is a bit risky I think. I wouldn’t be comfortable starting with both. I see too much rotation being as neither are considered the main forward at their club.
I’d go with Jesus first I think.
Cheers GP.
I’ll be watching pre-season for whether either side deploys a two striker formation. To me it would be absurd to bench either player.
It would be fantastic for both players and FPL if both thise teams used a two striker formation.
Let’s hope so!
How much would you guess that Chicarito will cost?
£8.5 I think Allan
Morning all which is better team 1 or 2 not sure on Austin yet .5m ok bank on first team
Silvers
Team 1 but consider J-Rod for Austin or Ince or Knockaert for Tadic.
I think triple Southampton is absolute over confidence in them. This is a new manager yet again for them remember.
Team 1 looks stronger.
cheers GP & AT I’m not keen on having 3 big guns up top but going without Utd attacking presents is also worrying 😉
Guys which team is better?
This is the other team.
I think Team 1 seems better.
Team 1 for me also, but keep an eye on Lindelof, he is making it hard for Jose to start him in GW1
Thanks guys.
Bit of an odd question but does anybody know how many of Charlie Daniels goals last year were penalties?
Did a quick look there and it appears he scored 4 goals last year and none of them were penalties
Excellent, thanks Matt his place in my team is safe
You are correct Matt. He did take them the year before last and scored a couple, oddly enough, last season The Cherries had like 5 or 6 different takers and none were Charlie. With Defoe in the fold I suspect there is even less of a chance.
To be honest I was hoping that the answer would be zero. The fact he scored 4 and assisted 3 in open play is more appealing. Bournemouth also kept more clean sheets than I would have imagined considering how many goals they shipped when they didn’t
Just have a query, what is the main reason everyone is going with Trippier? Is it because he’s nailed on or is it due to fixtures? Im starting to think that 5.5 could be used to try and get Kompany. Could be mental thoughts though.
Hey Matt,
He’s nailed on until Spurs buy another left back. Even if they do buy a left back I fully expect Trippier to start the season. Spurs arguably have the best defence in the league and he’s a threat going forward.
Obviously I meant right back
His 5 assists in limited minutes last year plus his pretty much guaranteed starting position in one of the best defenses in the league is why he’s in my team
Yep
Right cheers lads. That’s the main reason I put him in my team from the first draft just starting to mess about with it now which I should probably stop haha.
