Above average/below expectation
So we have suffered only our second captaincy fail of the season with CR7 bringing us – and many – the miserable 4 points. Ugh.
Probably explains why we just about snuck over the average line by three points when in most other weeks so far we’ve been miles ahead of the average. Proof, if it were ever needed, that captaincy is critical.
We scored 46 points in Gameweek 6 to take us to 221,616 via the dreaded RED arrow.
Not panicking yet but we have some questions requiring answering soon, if not very soon.
Raphinha, Antonio and our new signing Saint-Maximin brought us (8) points a piece and Salah just behind on seven. The rest (including said captain) doesn’t merit the bashing of the keyboard and you can see for yourself below.

Our Gameweek 7 Transfer(s)
With Luke Ayling and Trent Alexander-Arnold definitely out and doubts over Shaw (and previously) Raphinha coupled with the usual doubts over Ferran Torres due to City rotation, our discussions this week have been a minefield. I’ve had more enjoyable trips to the dentist to be honest!
We didn’t go ahead with the Wildcard as previously expected. A few wise heads (they are there sometimes) felt next week was better and the rest went with it.
So we are scrambling around to get 11 players on the pitch (we will probably have to rely on Torres due to the known injuries) and therefore we need to deal with what we know for sure and we’ve FINALLY come to a decision in this regard.
Tsimikas won’t play and Rudiger will. We don’t want to lose money on Trent. We’re banking on Shaw.
To confirm then we have SOLD KOSTAS TSIMIKAS and BOUGHT ANTONIO RUDIGER

This was a close run one. 5 votes taken with three for Michy and two for Ronnie, who has therefore got the vice as consolation.

I like the way it’s released, like an exit poll just after polling stations have closed.
Like the site team everything for me hinges on whether or not Shaw starts tomorrow. I couldn’t bring myself to take a hit to replace him.
Not sure if I’ll be able to sleep tonight for the tension.

Going Antonio here, I actually thought I’d be more of a lone voice on that but evidently not, being especially surprised when I saw that the Site Team went with him too.
My reasoning was that West Ham look fairly free scoring right now and Chelsea don’t. Brentford look likely to concede whereas Saints have kept out Man City away and….. West Ham, ironically.

Lukaku. Brentford is not an easy game for West Ham. As for free scoring scored 3 past Spurs and Villa. I’m not sure anyone is free scoring when they play City and Juventus away who are both defensively really strong
I brought in Alonso for TAA with my FT. Does this formation look good? Bench okay? Would Gray>Raphina be worth a -4?

I just bought Raphinha and benched Gray but not sure if I’d do it for a hit.

Thoughts on this? My main concerns are Jota and whether I should sell TAA or hold. Will be getting Rudiger in probably for Trent at this moment.

If you sold Jota for Sarr could you get a Chelsea defender for someone other than Trent?

You need at least three playing defenders.
Obviously both Trent and Ayling are out and Amartey is a likely no show.
With Shaw also a doubt then as things stand you will have a maximum of 9 players.
Jota should play and get at least two points.
I would focus my two free transfers on defenders to ensure you have eleven players.

Why is everyone getting Rudiger and not Azpili?

Rüdiger’s slightly cheaper and more nailed.
Why is there noone considering A. Christensen at 5.0? Feels like he’s earned his spot in the starting xi
