Above average/below expectation
So we have suffered only our second captaincy fail of the season with CR7 bringing us – and many – the miserable 4 points. Ugh.
Probably explains why we just about snuck over the average line by three points when in most other weeks so far we’ve been miles ahead of the average. Proof, if it were ever needed, that captaincy is critical.
We scored 46 points in Gameweek 6 to take us to 221,616 via the dreaded RED arrow.
Not panicking yet but we have some questions requiring answering soon, if not very soon.
Raphinha, Antonio and our new signing Saint-Maximin brought us (8) points a piece and Salah just behind on seven. The rest (including said captain) doesn’t merit the bashing of the keyboard and you can see for yourself below.

Our Gameweek 7 Transfer(s)
With Luke Ayling and Trent Alexander-Arnold definitely out and doubts over Shaw (and previously) Raphinha coupled with the usual doubts over Ferran Torres due to City rotation, our discussions this week have been a minefield. I’ve had more enjoyable trips to the dentist to be honest!
We didn’t go ahead with the Wildcard as previously expected. A few wise heads (they are there sometimes) felt next week was better and the rest went with it.
So we are scrambling around to get 11 players on the pitch (we will probably have to rely on Torres due to the known injuries) and therefore we need to deal with what we know for sure and we’ve FINALLY come to a decision in this regard.
Tsimikas won’t play and Rudiger will. We don’t want to lose money on Trent. We’re banking on Shaw.
To confirm then we have SOLD KOSTAS TSIMIKAS and BOUGHT ANTONIO RUDIGER

This was a close run one. 5 votes taken with three for Michy and two for Ronnie, who has therefore got the vice as consolation.

If you’re worried Ronnie doesn’t start then yes do that cap’n switch. Brentford’s defense seems ok though.
Jota v Gray is a bit of a toin coss, looks ok as is.

Bit of a pickle there. I’d love Jota to be in the side but the form of the rest of them, it’s hard to drop any.

I would play Jota over Gray and give the armband to Antonio

Obviously a toss up between jota and gray, depends if you think firmino starts or not. Also on the same captain dilemma, the early kick off swaying me

Thoughts on TAA / Bamford –> Cancelo / Vardy for -4 for GW8?
Do you need the two new guys to play to field a full team Burnsy?
No, I’ve got enough depth with Livramento and Allan, but I was already positioning toward a Vardy change, but with TAA out for 2 weeks it makes sense, to me atleast, to take the -4 once this GW starts to bring in them both. Would you hold off?

Think I’m pretty much set on wildcarding next week so transfer’s can be viewed as this week only.
Trent to Azpi/Alonso and Jota to Raphina is in my head. Any adjustments?
Taking out Jota might be viewed as a bit of a risk but he can come back in in next week’s WC if needed and he shouldn’t do too much damage to you against City.
I say yes those are nice moves. Azpilicueta or Rudiger for security of minutes.

Went Livramento to Rudiger earlier in week to get more Chelsea cover
As the week went by I kept thinking about Torres has given me 63 minutes in the last 3 weeks since I brought him in, and the chances of him blanking again, I just had to get Raphi
Here is my team, not 100% sure who to start in defence between White or Marcal?
Just chill a bit more and don’t transfer early.

Thinking of selling Grealish for a hit to bring in Raphinha. Should I go ahead and do it?
I don’t personally like it for a hit no.
And I’d play White over Reguillon by the way.
