FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line-ups Gameweek 17

Hmmmmm….

It really is all or nothing for us at the moment. We’ve now had, since the season started, four green arrows in a row, then three red, four green and now four red again. Based on this we are due four green now. We say, in hope more than expectation…

As for this latest one it wasn’t a disaster by any means, we garnered 62 points, a few above the average, but (not) enough to see us slip about 30k down to an overall rank of 215,171st.

Just as well our ‘premium’ defenders turned up as they got exactly half of our points between them. Ironically, that included a 6 from White off the bench. You’d have to have read last week’s article to appreciate why that’s ironic though. Captain Salah added 16, Raphinha got us 7 and the rest may as well have not bothered playing. As for our transfer we got King, who got 2, we obviously should have gone for the other one. This time anyway.

On a brighter note we (apparently) qualified for the cup last week and duly trashed some poor sole called ‘OleOleOle’ 62-46. So he’s now yesterday’s man, in more ways than one. Although to be fair to him he’s blissfully unaware of this as he hasn’t made a transfer all season, harbours Cavani in his squad and captained Toney. Still, it’s a victory and we’ll damn well take it! declare

Our GW16 Result…

We have £0.9m in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW17. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW17 Transfer(s)

Hmmmm…. Just about sums it all up at the moment. We just don’t know what is around the next corner. As such it was little surprise that our decision (so far!) has been to hold our transfer and carry two into next week. A couple of freebies may just come in handy with games seemingly being put at risk and potentially cancelled at the drop of a Covid hat.

As we spaeak none of our players are involved in the ‘games at risk’, and we have asked them all if they are double jabbed and they all looked at each other nervously before nodding approvingly, albeit not convincingly…

Should anything suddenly change tomorrow we shall be sure to tell you.

To confirm then we have HELD our transfer

Captain – Salah
Quite frankly Salah could be leading an anti-vax protest right now and we wouldn’t care a jot in terms of captaining him this week. If a weakened Leicester can do that to Newcastle, then….

Our vice captaincy vote was equally split between Antonio, King, Rudiger and Lukaku. With the notable absence of a Liverpool double up. For obvious reasons. And we would encourage you to spread that risk likewise. It’s on Lukaku at the moment but that may change depending on whether it looks like he may actually, finally, start a game. He’s managed just 48 minutes since our ‘lightbulb genius’ moment of bringing him back in early doors a few weeks back.

Predicted Line-ups Gameweek 17

For the busy Christmas period we are adding this feature to the end of each FF247 Site Team article give the limited time we have between most of the GW’s.

As a quick reminder –

There are two versions of this article.

The one below has a drop-down version. It’s fairly idiot proof – you simply click on the small arrow to the right of the team name and you get a drop-down list of all the teams. Simply click on the one you want to see and hey presto, etc. This is the published article with the comments section to crack on with.

The other one is permanently live and has the ‘nicer’ grid layout. If you want to see that version you can click here. This can also be easily accessed at any time via a myriad of links on our homepage – Header link, Hot Topics link, Quick Access link on mobile and it is also linked towards the end of all of our regular articles.

What you see below is a live link to what Drafthound have on their website. Why is that significant? Well, firstly, it now means that the second they make any updates in reaction to live team news then they will also appear on here. Being uber helpful in that respect they also time-stamp all of their line-ups so you can tell to the minute when it was last updated.

As an additional extra if you click on any player icon on the team line-up that will take you to their own page on Drafthound, from where you can see up to date season stats, their upcoming fixture schedule and use a comparison tool to view similar players.

Given their time and effort in providing this content for us it would be rude not to occasionally click on the Drafthound link and check out their own fabulous content as there are FPL articles aplenty on there too.

Should I be ditching CR7 seeing as he is not playing?

    2Fts £0.7 itb

I personally would seeing as the replacement will be Ayling playing City and unlikely you’ll lose much money on him. Personally I’d look at using your second FT on replacing Sarr too ….unknown return date and would allow you to bench Brownhill …ESR or Bowen would be my picks at that price range

Hi guys! In the same boat as a lot of you wondering what to do!
I’ve used my FT already and was gonna ride it out, but with the thought of big Ron being sat on the bench for 2 GW’s (is that most likely scenario?), is forcing me to rethink.
Is it worth taking a hit to replace him? Watkins or Lacazette would be the main options I’m considering and are they better than who I’m currently fielding?
    Also Livramento over Reguillion?

Kev, that is the question everyone asking. Two gameweeks is too much for such an expensive player. At the moment I am leaning towards Laca…

      • RedKev says:

Hey Ivan, yeah I know! It is and I’ve got 0.1 itb to buy him back even if he doesn’t drop. Big question is whether Laca would score 4 more points to make up for the hit than the people id bench to play him (Raph, Bowen or Antonio?)

        • I am tempted to get Luka but Thursday is too far away, anything can happen in 48 hours with this covid. Even 24 hours is unpredictable. Maybe we should settle with Watkins, surely he will get something against Norwich, and most importantly the game is on tonight.

        • RedKev says:

Hmm….for me Lukaku flopped once at Man U and again now this season ….hasn’t done anything to make me think he’ll hit serie A numbers and with Werner and Havertz maybe ahead of him I certainly wouldn’t do it for a hit myself!
Watkins much more appealing but he’s only scored 1 goal away so far and Norwich are tidying up a bit at the back ….think I’m leaning towards playing my team as it is atm

        • Well, in the end I went with Watkins. Let’s hope he starts.

CR7 not playing gives me a headache, also the injury to livramento!

Any advice appreciated please, in a bit of a pickle! Maybe lukaku?

    Argh….Help people. What to do?
Last week was a fresh and clean wildcard.
    Now its a mess!
    I have 0.2 itb and 1ft.
Do I just accept having no keeper or do I switch Ronnie?
Or do I just close my eyes, hope for the best and let everyone else take the hits?

      RedKev says:

Hi Goldie, I don’t necessarily think any gk up to 5.3 would guarantee you many points this week tbh, and same with most of the striker options ….Watkins and Laca are the ones I’m considering but it’s not like they are in red hot form and White or Douglas could end up out scoring either of them imo. I’m probably gonna hold myself but as yours is a ft I’d only swap Ronaldo out if it puts you at an advantage over your ml rivals

      Colriles says:

I’m gonna hold Ronnie until we know more, maybe not the popular choice smile I’d stick White and Douglas in there for Ronnie and Livra and hope for the best.
