Suspension Report – Fantasy Football Tips 2014/15

[/three_fourth]As the season progresses, it’s time to start keeping an eye on the red and yellow card count for our players and transfer targets, in order to make sure we can field 11 players each week. With cup matches also playing a part with regard to suspensions, holding that transfer until later in the week can sometimes pay dividends.
In brief, any player who gets a red card during a game will receive a suspension, normally between 1 and 3 games, depending on what has done, however players also receive suspensions for yellow cards. Any player who receives 5 yellow cards up to and including 31st Dec will receive a 1 match suspension. Any player who receives 10 yellow cards up to and including the second Sunday in April will receive a 2 match suspension. Any player who receives 15 yellow cards before the end of the season will receive an automatic 3 match suspension.
The FA website is a great resource for suspension information, current suspensions can be found along with lists of all players close to suspension (currently 4 yellow cards). However it is also possible to search by team and check the amount of cards for all players in each squad, so its always worth a look before making any transfers.

[/three_fourth]Branislav Ivaonvic picked up a red card in the match against Manchester United at the weekend, but the one match suspension was served on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup so he will be free to take to the field at the weekend against QPR.
No other red cards were flashed at the weekend, however, two were shown in the midweek cup games, although only one of these will lead to a Premier League suspension. On Tuesday Federico Fernandez of Swansea picked up a red card against Liverpool, however this has subsequently been rescinded and as a result he will not miss any games. This was followed by a red card for Peter Crouch on Wednesday night and a suspension will follow. At the time of writing the length of this suspension is not yet known, nor is it known if Peter will appeal, so keep an eye on the news for more information.
Phil Bardsley of Stoke will miss this weekend’s game against West Ham, having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the cup game against Southampton, he will not be able to play until Stoke meet Spurs on 9th November.
The yellow card count is now starting to clock up for a good few players with the players below all on 4 yellow cards to date. One more yellow and a one match suspension will ensue:
Cesc Fabregas Chelsea
Jerome Williams Crystal Palace
Steven Naismith Everton
Lee Cattermole Sunderland
Craig Gardener West Brom
Winston Reid West Ham
So, in a nutshell, all we have to do is keep track of the red and yellow cards……….errrrm well no, that’s not strictly true. We also have to keep an eye on social media!
Rio Ferdinand has been handed a £25,000 fine and a three match ban, to commence with immediate effect, subject to any appeal, following a comment he made on twitter. He will now miss the three league games against Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle, and will not be free to play until 29th November against Leicester. Rio was also ordered to attend “an education programme”…………………..it would be too easy to follow this up with numerous jokes, but you know we don’t do that kind of thing, so let’s just hope he remembers to turn up!
Many thanks Muts, great idea now that we are seeing those cards accumulate a bit again now. Great little write up mate, cheers
Little? That pictures huge……
Great to have the Suspension Report back. Nice one Mutts
Cheers Kop
Bet Jose gets Cesc to get booked vs Liverpool to miss
WBA. Either that or he gets “rested” this weekend.
I don’t think he’ll resort to that, his squad is big enough in midfield.
Yeah you’re right Jose would never do that !!!
He’ll want Fabregas for Anfield…..
Has the Silva injury been officially announced? Just seen a couple of websites post it but no official news on it,
Don’t think Silva, Hazard, Chambers or Moreno will change in price tonight so would it be wise just to hold off for another night?
AT – Yeah hold for another night. Things can happen.
@BenDinnery: Dare I say I’m 99% certain #Silva will not play
I know I quote Ben a lot but he’s usually bob on.
May as well wait though, right? If none of their prices will change then I can wait till the press conferences. Although I too doubt he’ll play-3 weeks apparently!
Silva has small ligament damage. Won’t play at the weekend.
Cookie, hold transfers or play them tonight? None are supposed to change. Key word being supposed though!
AT wait if you can, I haven’t looked at a price website all season but check FantasyFootballFix.
Who are you concerned about?
Cookie,
All at >2 days so think I’ll risk waiting.
Going to do Moreno to Chambers and Silva to Hazard. Thoughts?
Sort of worried about Chambers’ discipline, any better defenders for £4.8m or less?
Both make sense mate. Chambers prob the best bet at that price.
Well I have zero Chelsea coverage so I planned on bringing Hazard in for Sterling/Silva and Silva’s injury has just made it easy for me! Cheers, will hold off tonight though.
Cool – catch up tomorrow AT
I have dumped Aguero for Rooney, end of!
Plus he is my Captain.
Potty
but Potty, your Potty
How you doing?
Isnt Rooney potentially injured?
Hearing he should be ok. Wait though.
Roneys fine, it was a knock or a kick nothing more, he’ll play. He won’t play as well as Aguero but he’ll play 😉
Rooney is the main reason why I’m extra hesitant on Falcao this GW. You don’t want to start with 2 strikers coming back from a knock. Plus an injury prone RvP. Whatever Falcao has done pre-fitness LvG must be impressed because it seems he signed a full contract today. More reason to think he wants to play and excel in his next game.
Cheers for this, cesc seems the main concern for most of us it seems. Onto this weekend, I have two free transfers with.6 million in the bank. Looking at Fabianski’s coming fixtures I’m looking to take him out, my main problem is I don’t know who for. With.6 million I can’t get courtois, but as I have a Everton and Southampton defender I don’t really want to double up, so unsure what to do with that. Any thoughts on goalkeeper and what I should do with the other transfer are appreciated
Hi duthers – How about Adrián/Lloris in for Fabianski? I don’t know what options you have for mid, but you’re missing Di Maria and I would advice you to get him in there. For this week though, maybe hop on the bandwagon called Sanchez?
Cody
I’m.1 million short of lloris unless Fabianski’s price rises tonight I wouldn’t be able to afford him. Who are your two goalkeepers? Besides Southampton there hasn’t been any teams this season so far you can rely on for a clean sheet. In order for sanchez to happen I would have to take out pelle or Fabregas, which I don’t really want to do. Also ive been looking at Walcott, sterling out Walcott in in around 2 weeks sounds good to me.
