The Boot Room – FPL Fantasy Premier League GW21

Photo 02-01-2014 11 40 06With less than nine days to go and counting until the next deadline we all have plenty of thinking and tinkering time left… The January Wildcard is now available should you feel inclined to use it. Will you activate it immediately, possibly with a view to maximising your team value or will you wait until the transfer window has shut and judge what impact that has had, if any? Whichever you decide is the best strategy for you ahead of the next game-week we welcome your questions and also your advice to others. Please feel free as ever to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW21 and offer their thoughts and suggestions please post it below or link it and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may be constructive but we can’t promise anything!

  1. Thinking about my WC team what do u guys think ? Also Yaya Toure or Silva had Yaya Since day 1 don’t know what to do

      Have you considered Davis as an alternative to Marshall or you looking for long term player? Otherwise maybe McGregor instead of Marshall to not double up?

      At the back the only questionable player is Demel who has been in and out. If you have Yaya already I’d keep him.

    • Just joined the renamed Chedsoga league yesterday mate, Chorls is running it.
      How’s things?

      • Good mate qualified for bantebury plate, took a beating yesterday. Had a full squad that played and still ended up taking last minute hits to field a team. Brought in howard, first game gets red, Silva and Clarke both get a 5 card ban in the last game before it goes to 10 lol.

          I’m in 2 and I know your not in 1
          I qualified for the quarter final of the Banterbury cup yesterday but drew Fergie my fellow Pacter , bloody typical.
          Gasco is still in it as well but plays Deano the convict from down under 😉

  3. Evening guys. Lots of wildcards being used today!

    Is nobody else considering waiting until Aguero is fit? At the moment I have a pricey midfield that will need to be downgraded in order to shoe-in Aguero once fit. I’m hoping that none of my players (other than Nolan (fool got himself sent off)) will be dropping in price so I’m not too worried about my team value.

    Here is mine… What do you think? Can I hold off my wildcard for the time being even though I should probably try and swap Nolan and Flanagan out? Also any general advice is appreciated – Thanks!

      i have 2 FTs, and not a huge amount to change with my team

      wish it was 3 FTs but thats just life!

      btw, any rmt offers appreciated

    I here a lot of you guys are using WC early to generate higher team value..?
    I’ve never really been motivated by raising team value, even tho it makes sense I suppose..
    I have a team value of 110.7m… just through buying & selling at the right time based on form, I take a hit if need be, to ensure I get that inform player as cheap as possible…!
    I’ve got a really great team at the mo, although could do with a tweak here & there..?
    Question is… How do I generate more team value, if I’ve got the players I want already…
    If for example I sell Yaya .. To bring in someone like Cabaye whose price is on the rise… I’ll still want to bring back Yaya..but he’ll cost me more…?

    I’m i missing something …?

    • you don’t. you need to have players you don’t want and bring in ones you that will rise.

      I’m with you mate! I like my team and just want to tweak a couple of things! My team value at 109.3m. Is that as important as fielding 11 players who can deliver fpl points? Thats where I feel I’m missing something! End of day, I am new to this!!

      How many players would you change if on WC, acknowledging that if you think 3, you will prob do 5 cos on wc smile

        Help required maximising WC / team Value

        • pretty impressive team but especially midfield. your keepers are good, but Davis is only short term. If your going cheap there, Mannone is the likely increasing keeper in that bracket. How long is Boruc out for? I’d say Turner and Chester are about as good as is for that price point, unless you got a pot of money you didn’t say about. Moxey maybe out for Ward (im iffy about a defender playing mid as if not mid, will he or Parr be first choice).

          Delph – again a cheapie so not sure. Mutch is injured and hamsting could be an issue.

          I don’t like how deep Rooney is playing. The only high flying striker outside of those is really Adebayor but has a knock – still think Lukaku is worth a punt

          not sure if that helps or not..

    (K. Davis, Glen Johnson, Ward, Pozuelo)

    I have 1 FT, 0.8 in the bank.

    Should I do:

    A. Eriksen in for Cabaye
    B. Lallana in for Cabaye
    C. Rooney and Cabaye to J Rod and Yaya for a -4
    D. Hold transfer

    • Nice team.I’d hold your transfer mate.Unless an injury occurs during the cup games.

    • A. Need a couple more games for me – I would think Lallana, Cabaye and even Lennon are ahead of him
      B. Its an option with the upcoming fixtures

  6. A lot of talk about Lallana,Eriksen & Cabaye etc but I’ve find it strange no one talking about GERRARD he’s cheap at £8.7 played 29 mins against hull he will get mins under his belt in the cup just find it strange !!

    • Jeet – a lot have Hazard, Walcott and also Yaya or Silva. Hard to get more in….
