The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League
Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.
So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

In the long term I need to get some better keepers and replace francis with a man city defender like kolorov.
I suspect Wilson and pelle to be pretty on and off so they will prolly get transferred the most. And if payet dont score next time or get an assist he will probably go for sako from crystal palace.

I could do with a little help. I am dropping in my leagues like a stone. Its only 30p points at the moment, but over the last couple of weeks it has been 20 each week. I have the WC left, any tips are welcome. Thanks for a great forum guys, and thanks to anyone who can help me.

I would play the WC and build team value first (buy players that will rise) then build a new team before the deadline.

I mean just buy players that will rise now and not worry about who they are. Then before the deadline build a team that you would like to keep for weeks. With a WC you can make unlimited amount of transfers.

SOmething FFF claims. I don’t think that’s accurate they have been off with a lot of players lately.
Keep Aguero and wildcard the rest.
Yeah, a WC is reasonable here, in my opinion.
If you prefer to do it the slow and painful way (-4/8 over several GWs) players to be sold would be:
Urgent: Affelay, Deeney
Thereafter: Montero, Depay
None of them will raise you a lot of money, I’n afraid, so you’d have to raise funds by also selling Benteke / Clyne.

Raz – I don’t support them and it’s possible they will be successful, but it’s putting players into boxes. They are coached within an inch of their lives. If u don’t oblige, booted.
Di Maria messed up himself. What he did with Valdes I also sort of understand, Valdes felt to big to play for the second team (last year when DDG was the main man). Chicharito, well the got a lot of money off of him.
The team just isn’t right though. They need a proper CB, Blind isn’t that (fear his f-ing dad will play him as CB for Holland, if so we’re doomed, f-ing politics, hate it), they need a proper striker that has scored a lot of goals not some 19 year old kid for 36 million pounds that just scored 9 league goals last season (mean wtf). I heard they’ll get the the current Real number 1 in a swap deal, which is good (cause Romero is shite).
I was afraid this was going to happen. Aah well. LvG messing up the good name of the Dutchies again.
Will big players come play for him? With all the drama that seems at play?
My first year playing. what do you guys think? playing in a head2head league for work. Took an 8 pt hit last week to get aguero and kolorov and erikson in for mertesacker morrison and kane. I need to drop ivanovich for gomez, thinking of dropping depay idk for who maybe sahko from CP. going to lose deeny for wilson. siggy for ayew. maybe pelle for gomis? but then i have to get rid of wilson or fabianski. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Way too much money spend on defence. Like, way too much. Like terrible man. Hahaha. I’ll tell you what players I like in your team:
Kolarov, Mahrez, Mane, Pelle (only after that last game and because they are out of Europe) and Aguero.
Uniteds cleansheet days seem to be over (they’ve had a lot of luck the first 3 GW’s), Ivanovic overpriced and Chelsea can’t even keep a CS (conceding 2 goals per game), Migs and Pool have a similar problem to United. Having a 5m defender benched sort of sucks. Also Fabianski and Migs? That’s 2 5m goalies right? Nope. I’d personally wildcard that team in a heartbeat. So to speak. :p
Yea first year playing. thought a spend evenly around the board was a good idea but have quickly realized that is not the case. how much would i ideally spend on defense?
Keep Fabianslki and downgrade Mignolet to a 4.5 player.Get rid of Ivanovic as he has had chasings and seems slow and play Williams.Get rid of Depay and Morrison.Wildcard may be the answer as otherwise it would take too long to do it all
There are quite a few good cheaper defenders to look at it. And keepers, just look at clean sheet records for last season etc. And some teams play from the back more, or maybe a defender takes set pieces for his club. Martin of Norwich for instance, might not get many clean sheets so afr but he can score or assist. And he is cheap, then stoke last season were defensively good, not so far this season tbh. But last season they were and butland only played a bit but his good and cheap. Man U defence is way too unreliable especially with de gea situation. Liverpool are just as unreliable. Teams like west ham etc are safer cheaper choices
