The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

So this is my first attempt at epl fantasy this season and i couldn’t be more proud and humbled of my early success. currently sitting up top of all 3 of my leagues as well as in the top 5% of the whole fantasy community.
i find myself always altering my team each week trying to find the inform players, after a depressing double trade this week of tossing both ayew and tadic out who scored a combined 3 goals and 1 assist i found myself with kouyate and ozil who scored a combined 3 which equals the goals the others split. But hey im still happier with my team, being an arsenal supporter i felt as i needed one attacking player from them for me to enjoy watching.
Gomis is finding himself in my team this week, as i’m finally admitting he looks more promising than Benteke with his 4 goals in 4 appearances.
currently sitting with 1.4 in the bank, planning on changing Toure into Silva the following gameweek, as Silva looks more damaging on the scoreboard as he looks to lock up assist title this season imo
    Thoughts?

PhatPete – First off. Congratulations on your success so far! It’s always great to hear that a fellow FF247’er is doing well. smile

I know exactly what you mean, I myself would love to have an attacking Liverpool player, but my favorite – Coutinho – unrightfully got a red last week. Should be back in my team once he’s available. I don’t see Benteke doing much for us yet. Anyway…

Yaya to Silva in GW5 should be a good move. Many would say it’s a sideways move, but Silva does look a lot better that Yaya. If I were you I’d wait and see how City’s new signing – Kevin De Bruyne – will affect the other players’ fpl returns. Maybe he’ll steal points off Silva.

Should also keep an eye on Özil, move him on if his injury is getting worse.

      Hi Pete,

That’s brilliant to hear, well done and keep up the good work smile

Welcome to the site as well. You’ll get a lot from it if you can manage to stick with us. Hopefully you can impart some advice to others here based on your excellent start.

Regardless of the injury, I’d move out Ozil. Just looks so difficult to read where the points are coming from at Arsenal just now. There are lots of players who are doing it in midfield at other clubs.

Darmian and Azpi dont look very appealing right now. One because of the fixtures, and the other because of the team’s defensive disaster.
      The rest is fine.

      • PhatPete says:

Darmian is always looking appealing to me not the clean sheets im interested in its his forward pressure!!
understandable with Azpi but atm theres no one from the big 6 teams thats in a promising situation, and chelsea could click down back its just a matter of time.

    Cheers Ruben!!

Glad someone else is on the same page as me with the whole Liverpool attack right now. When Liverpool’s attack gels into place ill look to grab one of the two but as of now i’m steering clear.

They can call it what they want, won’t be hearing them when Silva proves his worth – but i will wait to see how this new signing affects the play of the team.

Ozil is being watched closely, would love to have the coin to turn him into Sanchez as he is due to deal some damage but i have an eye on the return of Erikson and how Shaqiri performs each week as he settles.

Ended up using my wild card for a number of reasons. Team now looks like this with £0 left in the bank. Would you recommend any changes or am I good to go?

      Nice work.

Taking the plunge on KDB I see. Can’t say I blame you. He had a magnificent return last season.

      • redspyda says:

Thanks guys, I had mahrez, wilson and ayew from the beginning of the season however due to a combination of picking the wrong captain and benching these players in the wrong game week I’m down to 40th out of 60 in my league so needed to have a few differentials. I still have .8 in the bank, so could potentially change De Bruyne for Silva if he is a disaster. I’ll see how these next two weeks play out

Nice tesm. Also thinking about Ayew as a differential to Gomis and keeping Pelle.

Only thing I don’t like is the selection headache you’ve created for yourself each week. I started the season with one and it left Mahrez on the bench GW2.

      • redspyda says:

don’t get me started on the selection, I’ve had mahrez, ayew and Wilson from the start of the season, and made awful decisions with not playing them, one being the week Wilson scored a hattrick, had him and mahrez on the bench stupidly
