The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

    I made 3 transfers so far for -8 today . if I play my wildcard now will the game still deduct the points as I have confirmed the transfers already?

      You could argue that with Chelsea looking quite vulnerable defensively, that Azpilicueta could be downgraded.

      Chelsea and Liverpool defence are the only weakness there…. i’ve benched Gomez and Azpil for next GW smile

    • looks good yash. I personally don’t think Chelsea defence is the same as last year. I would get rid of AZI and maybe upgrade wanyama or diouf to mahrez or vardy depending on your funds and formation you want to play

      • How about getting Arsenal mid? I know chelsea defence is not same as last year but it’s Mourinho we are talking about, I am quite sure Chelsea will be back on track ! I usually play 3-4-3 formation and Wanyama is there only because he’s cheap, not going to play him

    After not that much disastrous game week, what should i do with this team! Somehow I want to throw away Rooney and Depay of course. Any ideas?

      I agree. Rooney, Depay, Brunt and an over-expensive defence are the problems that I see.

      I think you need a Man City player in an offensive position as priority. It’s up to you whether that is Aguero, Silva, YYT, KDB or Sterling but it depends whether you want to take a hit to get one in ahead of next week. If so, I’d go Rooney to Aguero and either Koscielny or Coleman down to a defender of 4.5M region. Ward/Souare/Martin/Huth etc.

    • I like Monreal but how many clean sheets do we keep clean. 😉

    Here is team, .1 m in the bank

    Courtois (schwartzer)
    Azpil Kolarov cedric (huth baker)
    Pedro mahrez silva payet (sako)
    Aguero Wilson diouf.

    Wondering about diouf&payet out for
    Tadic and gomez. Thoughts? And not sold on huth to date, and courtois costing points!

      I like this team but Swansea coverage is surely a must? I like Gomis of course but I just wonder how reliable Tadic is. You could double up and take Ayew – look very good do Swansea and it may be a very shrewd move.

      Just a pointer – with the two injuries picked up by Bournemouth on Saturday, there may be game time for Adam Smith who is 4.0. Don’t think Baker is in with much of a chance at Villa these days.

    • maple – Hey! Your team is really good. Payet looked strong against us (Liverpool) and should keep bringing in the points, in my opinion he should cost way more than 7.6.

      Tadic is a player who does well (fpl wise) in a couple games a season and is invisible for the rest. This season could be different than last season, but I doubt it.

      If you want to make more changes, then I’d suggest downgrading Azpilicueta to a 5.0 or lower and upgrading Diouf to Gomis.

    Any suggestions on how to improve this team? I’m not sure if I want to keep Azpilicueta, but I think Chelsea might regain their form soon or later. Also if I switch him out, I don’t really know who to replace him with, Manu’s d looked terrible last night. Also any recommendations on a 4.5M defender? I want to replace Davies.

    • I’d replace Davies with either Ward or Souare from Crystal Palace, I probably wouldn’t play them next week though if possible (Bertrand might be back for the Saints).

      Naughton of Swansea for Azpilicueta? Decent attacking full back with 4 BPs already this season.

      I agree with Andy – Palace coverage for 4.5M looks great value especially with better fixtures ahead.
