The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

    • Hanging on with a length of cotton Ant, you’ve played your bench boost and triple captain chips… and triple captain on Rooney…. which got you a grand total of 6 points…. wasted chip mate :hippo:

      • Can’t really call it wasted can you. Who’s to say yours is going to work?. Every chip is a gamble when ever you play them.

        • Mine may not work but I’m waiting on a double GW to maximise if possible smile

  2. So another poor week,37 points,with Dawson and Ward on the bench ! Only plus points were a cs from Kolarov,an assist from Silva and yesterday’s goal from Gomis.Have got 2 FT which is a plus.What would you do with this lot ?? Deffo gonna do Benteke >>Wilson which would leave 3.2 mill ish in the bank.Then debating whether to roll my other transfer and give Payet another week or just transfer him out for Pedro now ?? Any other ideas ???

    • Your teams pretty good mate. I’d change Benteke to Lukaku/ Pelle tho.

      • Cheers Ant.Not really a fan of Southampton or Evertons fixtures.Bournemouth have got a few decent fixtures left plus it frees up cash to upgrade Payet and maybe a defender if I wish.

        • Lukaku will outscore Benteke. Liverpool cant play with a striker like Benteke and its starting to show yet again.

        • I did payet to pedro last week

        • stick with payet, last season he got one of the highest amount of assists in the whole of europe. And he takes a lot of set pieces for west ham, plus good fixtures, plus they in form.

    • Hard to ignore Pedro but it’s also hard to sell a player with a good home game. Late gut-call on this one i reckon. Benteke -> Wilson seems a good move just now.

      • Cheers Nin.Yep the sensible thing to do would probably be to roll the other transfer over but it bothers me though that Payet hasn’t been involved in any of West hams goals in the last couple of games.

        • Yeah, that has been a surprise really. At least they’re scoring goals though and he does look decent.

          I don’t think you can use your Wildcard and leave him out. Yes he hasn’t scored in his last two but it’s Aguero!
          Messi and Ronaldo haven’t scored in their two consecutive La Liga games but you wouldn’t even consider dropping them (unless injured of course). Got to be there for me.

        • Aguero cost 13.2 which a lot, considering i already hv 3 man city players..might as well change da whole team to accomodate aguero..

  5. Any advice on transfers for the team? So far am ranked 1.399m….have two free transfers and then could use wildcard if necessary…..

    • KT, I don’t like suggesting the wildcard but I would strongly consider it in your case.

      Far too much spent in goal.
      Far too much spent in defence.
      This has led to ineffective, cheap attacking lines….amd you have NO City!?

      • You say to much spent in defence which i dont agree with. The last 2 GW’s its been my defence thats saved my gameweek. Defenders seem to BP’s magnets.

        • Ant..he has no defender under £5m..
          If he plays 5 at the back every week then maybe but that certainly won’t work out in the long run.

      • Agreed. Squad is off balance and i too would hit the wildcard button.

    • KT – I think there’s a lot to change here. Wildcarding would be a good idea.

      Man City coverage: Defense, Midfield and Agüero.
      Lose Rooney and/or Depay.
      Get Ayew instead of Siggy.
      Pedro instead of Hazard
      Downgrade one of your goalies.
      No Everton defense.
      No double Chelsea defense.

    • That’s a pretty good rank so far though. Considering the insane start to the season. I’m at 2m+, haha.

      • Yeah this week I was ranked 800,000 so even though it looks crazy I’ve actually done alright…

        • Appreciate all your advice….will have to do everything week by week to change my team….what about this? Any better….can only make three changes at a time soon…..

        • KT – Looks a lot better already! Have you used your WC already? If so then yeah I’d agree with those moves to begin with.

        • No not used my wildcard – that would be using my wildcard i.e. three changes….ok will go for this one then

  6. Guys: please forgive me if I have no opinions to offer on any RMTs. My team is so pathetic that I have no high ground on any aspects of fantasy league whatsoever … BooHoo

    • Hazard, Aguero, Ivanovic, Cazorla, Ozil, Benteke etc … Can all suck it
