The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them…

Welcome to The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them….Having kept us in suspense for four days longer than we thought, the Premier League have at last started to release the dates of the rearranged fixtures. We now have a clear picture of DGW34, while the specific dates for the remaining fixtures still have to be officially revealed, although most indicators point to these matches being accommodated into GW37.

So, these are the rearranged matches that are now part of DGW34:

Brighton vs Spurs
Bournemouth vs Man Utd
Burnley vs Chelsea
Leicester vs Southampton

Therefore the following teams have two matches in DGW34:

Bournemouth (liverpool, MAN UTD)
Brighton (crystal palace, SPURS)
Burnley (LEICESTER, CHELSEA)
Chelsea (southampton, burnley)
Leicester (burnley, SOUTHAMPTON)
Man Utd (WBA, bournemouth)
Southampton (Chelsea, leicester)
Spurs (MAN CITY, brighton)

What else is there to know about DGW34?

The weekend after DGW34 finishes sees the semi-finals of the FA Cup which sees Chelsea vs Southampton and Spurs vs Man Utd. Given that all four clubs have a DGW34, it is possible that we see some rotation for their second match of DGW34, just days before their semi-final.

Liverpool have an attractive looking match in DGW34 as they host Bournemouth at Anfield. However, it may be worth noting that Liverpool go to Man City in the Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg just days before GW34.

What matches are left to be rescheduled?

Chelsea vs Huddersfield
Leicester vs Arsenal
Man City vs Brighton
Swansea vs Southampton
Spurs vs Newcastle
West Ham vs Man Utd

The Premier League has said that these matches will be rescheduled by Tuesday 3 April, i.e. just before GW33. The obvious week for all these matches to be rescheduled is GW37 as there is no European football scheduled for that week. It is possible, though unlikely, that some matches are rescheduled into GW35 or GW36. None of the matches will be added to DGW34. DGW37 really is the obvious week for all six matches and assuming this is confirmed, this will be the schedule for the DGW teams:

Arsenal (BURNLEY, leicester)
Brighton (MAN UTD, man city)
Chelsea (LIVERPOOL, HUDDERSFIELD)
Huddersfield (man city, chelsea)
Leicester (WEST HAM, ARSENAL)
Man City (HUDDERSFIELD, BRIGHTON)
Man Utd (brighton, west ham)
Newcastle (watford, spurs)
Southampton (everton, swansea)
Swansea (bournemouth, SOUTHAMPTON)
Spurs (west brom, NEWCASTLE)
West Ham (leicester, MAN UTD)

First glance observations (assuming the above is confirmed for DGW37)

DGW37 is bigger than DGW34 with 12 teams playing twice in DGW37 compared to 8 in DGW34. Does this offer a better opportunity for Bench Boost? On the face of it the answer is ‘possibly’, although by the time DGW37 arrives much may already be decided in terms of Man City winning the league, top four and relegation which could see teams rotate more than normal.

Chelsea, Leicester and Man City all enjoy two home games.

Huddersfield, Man Utd, Newcastle, Southampton all face two away matches.

Spurs face West Brom and Newcastle with Harry Kane likely back from injury. Remember how he finished last season? A possible Triple Captain candidate?

Either Spurs or Man United and very likely Chelsea (assume they beat Southampton) will be preparing for the FA Cup Final which falls a week after the end of the season. More threat of rotation….unless of course their top four spot is not secure!

Man City could be preparing for a Champions League final, Arsenal could be preapring for a Europa Cup final.

There are clearly lots of ‘ifs, whats and maybes’ – time will only tell. For those still to play their wildcard, maybe it pays to wait for as long as possible and act on the best possible information.

Whatever your position, thoughts and plans, please be sure to share your ideas on the chat below. This is the crucial part of the season – mini-leagues will be won and lost on how we play our remaining chips and tackle the DGWs. Every idea is worthwhile, everyone has their view – there is not necessarily a right and a wrong way.

    evening lads.

    So I’m on wc. .

Does it make sense to BB34 and FH37? I have used my TC already

or FH35 and try to plan the fuck out of it ?

    What do you think?

      inittowinit says:

Hi Dreamers, that was my original plan but having finally looked at it a bit I think I’m changing tact a bit. However, if the WC is already active then it’s a different scenario. Rather than repeat it all check my very recent response to Keethan on the previous page as he’s in your boat.

WC now makes 35 a tough one though, if there’s no FH for it. BB is still possible in 37.

    TheDreamers says:

So here is my excel …..

It takes a bit of explaining. It starts with who I am thinking of as wc squad (blue background) The red text denotes the players that have a dgw in GW37 (understanding rotation/injuries etc which is guess work at this point). Transfers are shown in yellow. GW34 DGW players are shown in red text (currently 9).

In GW 33, Sell Lukaku for Auba and switch that back in GW 34.

    In GW35, use free hit.
    GW36 save transfer.
GW37 – The yellow text showing early transfer thoughts.

    Some questions:
    1) thoughts in general
    2) Alonso or Valencia?
    3) When to bring in Vardy for Firmino if at all?
    4) Play Ward or Cedric GW34? Seems wrong to have a DGW player on bench
    5) Depending on view of 4, does Ward have a place in squad?

    Thanks all

      piksi says:

Rayan may be better than Fabianski as Burnley will have DG in 34, Not sure about Cedric and Kennedy, Newcastle will not have DG too, Southampton does have but with Leicester and Chelsea! this is if you are using BB in 34. Abu / Lukaku switch may cause a problems in case you have unexpected injures for 34. I am in similar situation and it is not easy sad

      • TheDreamers says:

        thanks piksi.

I plan to BB in 37. Will play DDG in 34 so Fabianski or Ryan wouldnt play anyway.

        • Smash10 says:

Are you worried about GW37 being a bit far away Dreamers for bench boost on wildcard. I’m still not sure what way I’m leaning on this. BB in GW37 looks slightly better if fixtures are that week but more risky.

        • TheDreamers says:

I am Smash – but it does appear (37) to be the better on paper one. The team above does have 10DGW players in 34 if I wanted to BB which could be 11 if i brought in Vardy now.

Not seling Lukaku for 1 week and back in would allow me to increase that further i guess.

Whats your thinking on the chips?

        • Smash10 says:

It’s the Swansea and the Newcastle players that look more appealing for a bench boost in GW37. My teams below think I might bench boost in GW34. Free hit definitely GW35

This is excellent Dreamers lot of thought gone into that I’ve attached my plans for picking my team what do you think 😉

    nauj says:

    hi guys rmt plz
    WC activated
my plans are gw34 BB gw35FH gw37 TC

    degea ryan
    azpi davies childwell stephens dunk
    hazard salah son stanislas westwood
    lukaku murray vardy

    any advices plz?

    • 21.1
      Smash10 says:

Looks a bit different which I like. Ben Davies is highly unlikely to play both games. Alonso offers a fair bit more than Azpil attacking wise for not much more if going premium. Westwood don’t play so think you need 0.2 to get to Cork

      • nauj says:

        davies>smalling, westwood>cork but i miss 0.1 for azpi>alonso. any advices?

        • Smash10 says:

Yeah I like that and Lowton for Stephens/Dunk for the extra 0.1

        • nauj says:

          ok done thnks mate!

what do you thnk about the rest of my team? is it good to go particularly for the dgws?

        • Smash10 says:

Yeah I think it looks good. My wildcard team personally looks a bit different ie no Hazard but I can see why you have gone with that set of players

        • nauj says:

y did you go without hazard? he was one of the first player i wanted in my wc team. whats your wc team?

        • Smash10 says:

On Hazard price he’s really expensive and fails to deliver when I seem to have him like I did earlier in season. I think this is my current team if I bench boost in GW34 if I hold off it will have a Kenedy and Dummett in. Stephens could be Cork

        • nauj says:

very nice team! but y do you take auba when he didnt have dgw 34?
and i thnk christiensen is a rotation risk.

        • Smash10 says:

Arsenal have a great run of home games which are hard to ignore. I still might bench boost in GW37 and make some slight changes unsure. Christenson is first choice but is made of glass so he’s no Alonso but cheap Chelsea coverage in defence

        • TheDreamers says:

nice team Smash. I dont agree that Christensen is a rotation risk (someone mentioned it). He is nailed when fit. Just he might break his nail at the 59th minute and miss the next week.

I do like the Auba pick

        • inittowinit says:

Possibly apropos of nothing but Christensen got sent home from the Denmark camp with ‘fatigue’! Seems the little lamb can’t last 59 mins in training now, never mind a match.

Hi lads been a while since I’ve been on here. Hope everyone is well. Wonder if anyone can help me out here. Team is below. 5th in mini league. Trying to do some major damage and somehow win it!! People above me have used varied chips however I’m sitting on wc B.B. tc and fh and 2.3itb.

Problem is when is best time to use these To best effect.

Any help be much appreciated thanks guys

      TheDreamers says:

Kane to Lukaku maybe and captain him?

    • 22.2
      Smash10 says:

Depends when you want to wildcard. There’s a lot there I would want rid of. If holding off on wildcard it’s kind of got to be Kane out for Lukaku/Auba as thats a lot of cash on bench

      • jumpers4goalposts says:

This is the thing smash I don’t know when to use the wc seen people suggesting holding it off until the later dgw. But I have got 4 chips to use and not much time to use them. But since I’m in a position of having all of them available want to make the best moves

        • AT says:

Hi jumpers, Init posted [his] take on having all four chips at post 16 which you might want to take a look at. It’s over-simplified (am I allowed to say that, when it is [his]?) but I recommend planning your transfers up until GW36 as if you were going to WC in 36 and compare that to wildcarding now. The key things to look at are the points you expect a WC32/33 team to achieve over the coming weeks in comparison, and also how many players you would be able to field in 35 without using your free hit (which I would play in 34 if I were wildcarding later). Also have to weigh up using TC on a single GW.

        • Smash10 says:

If I had all my chips. I’ve blown my triple captain I’d be playing it like this:
Wildcard now or next week depends if you think new team will get more points this week.
          BB in GW34
          Free Hit GW35
          Triple Captain GW37

    yanwo says:

    Hi,
If I WC33, keep the free transfer on GW34, FH35,
Will I carry the one ft on GW34 to GW36 (i.e 2ft) , or the FH35 will wipe off that ft?

  6. 24
    Gear says:

Has anyone looked at a wildcard team that has 14 DGW players (plus Salah) in 34 (bb), with 11 of them playing (maybe with a couple of transfers) in 37 (tc)?

I need to start looking at it as I think this is my preferred strategy, however if I can nick someone else’s work, that’d be preferable!
