Fantasy Football The FF247 Community Team
What do Heart of Midlothian, AFC Wimbledon and Galatasaray have in common?
They are all football clubs owned and operated by their supporters.
So?
So, I thought that seeing as this works brilliantly within (some) football clubs, then I wondered if this could be transferred to the fantasy world. A hugely talented fantasy player friend of mine first mooted this idea this close season and it got me to thinking, what if we did have our FF247 community represented as a single entity this coming season? I wondered if it could work. I wondered how it would work. I wondered if people would like the idea or how popular it could grow to be. I wondered if the FF247 Community Team could be the first supporter-owned team to win the World Title.
As far as I am aware, there is no other fantasy site with a community team. So are you with me?
Alright, first of all, the selection of everything to do with our team will be “one member, one vote”.
Basically if you go as far as to log in and leave a message to a supporter vote question, then you are a member.
So here is how it will work.
Initial selection
We will firstly vote to decide on our preferred playing formation.
The second vote will be to ask how you think the money in our team should be shared across all four playing positions.
Thirdly and most excitingly of all, the next vote will determine our first player.
I think it is fairest and most sensible to select players alternatively by position in turn beginning with strikers and working back through the team so we would vote thus:
Striker /Midfielder /Defender /Goalkeeper then returning to Striker to continue.
Ahead of each vote I would gauge the popularity of particular players through your discussions and early RMT enquiries and present to you a selection for you to vote for. The aim is to make the list as concise as possible but fear not there will be plenty of choice.

Weekly selection
I will ask you to vote for one goalkeeper and one outfield player you WOULD PLACE ON THE SUBSTITUTES BENCH. This vote will indicate who the least popular players are for the week and determine the most popular sub – i.e. he who most of you think WON’T have a good gameweek, goes to the last place on the bench, next most popular goes second and third takes first outfield spot on the bench. Goalkeeper with most ‘sub’ votes takes the sub GK spot.

Transfers
Each week there will be two transfer votes.
The first will ask “Who do you think should be sold from the FF247 Community Team?”
The second will ask: “Who do you think the FF247 Community Team should buy valued at £ ‘X’ ?
Multiple transfers (Points Hits), Wildcards and Chips
This is where it can be a bit hairy for us but not insurmountable – the theory will be that if at least five members request using any of the above, it will be put to a vote.

Captaincy
We will use the existing captaincy poll on site and select the most popular player for that week who is in the FF247 Community Team. The second most popular within the team will be vice-captain.

Summary
We will no doubt encounter little problems as we move along but where possible, I will always seek the advice of you, our members as to how they would suggest the problem dealt with.
I will be happy to address any issues or answer any questions you might have – leave them on our Community Team page which will be with us soon. If I don’t answer right away, please check back, I will answer.
I hope you will become involved with each vote as it appears. There may seem like there are a lot of votes but it will literally take you five seconds to take part as most of your replies will be one word.
This is intended to create additional interest away from our own teams, to not take itself too seriously or be bogged down with ‘what-ifs’. We should be democratic but not boring.
It is meant as a way for our fantastic community to bond further and with a bit of luck, to draw new visitors and encourage them to take part with us.
We may even be lucky and form a bit of a local FF247 fantasy rivalry as we progress…..

I will be slagged for this but Morgan isn’t likely to start the season. I like Olsson for Norwich.
That is a very different front three. First I’ve seen without either Aguero, Rooney or Costa. But the big three in midfield are very good.
So what are Your preddictions od ManU vs Barca today? End up like city-real or even worse? :p
Good morning fellas just a quick one how much ownership does a player need to have before his value goes up.
The rlules on this change slightly season to season. I’ve not seen any chatter about it yet but suffice to say the guys at Fix will be all over it. For now though it’s fairly irrelevant as prices are locked until GW2.
It’s tough to predict as they tweak this every year without letting it be known, it’ll take two or three GW’s before we’ll be able to have a good guesstimate on how often players values will change.
Ok thanks, I was thinking it has to worth have someone like hazard in ya team with such high ownership if you want the value of your team to go up quickly.
Can I some opinions on Bamford he was very good last season in the championship he played well when he came to the den looks quality got a feeling he might be a starter for palace.

Tough one to call. He came on yesterday in their pre-season friendly. It will be difficult to call to start with I think although his record last season gives him certain claims on a place. I’ll be watching but there are probably safer picks for his price.
Thanks for the opinion mate I’m thinking about taking a gamble the competition at palace isn’t that great he is probably the best striker there.
Ok fellow managers, a few questions as I tinker my squad.
Firstly – 3rd striker – I’m torn between Wilson and Deeney. Bourn have better fixtures through GW8, but I know very little about him. While Wat have worse fixtures, but Deeney has scored 20+ in each of the last 3 seasons and has been selected by nearly 11%.
Secondly – Defender – as you can see I have gone for a fairly weak defence with a lot of rotation possibilities, but I’m unsure whether to go with Clyne, or not. Despite being a Liverpool fan, I’ll be brutaly honest and say our defence is shaky at best The addition of an extremely attacking minded WB is unlikely to change that. With the tough away games we have through GW10 I was looking at going for Mertesaker, but am unsure whether he’s a starter for Ars nowadays. Or is it better to splash a little of the bank that I was saving for Kun’s return and go for Azpi (Che) and not be looking too much at rotation?
Thirdly – Morgan – GP was kind enough to point out that Morgan (Lei) is definitely not going to be starting GW1 (Thanks again) and suggested Huth. But when looking at the Lei defence Wasielwski seems like a better choice. Also what about Konchesky? I thought he was a mainstay in the Lei defence.
Lastly – Rooney – Is he worth the 10.5 outlay, the loss of Benteke from my squad and the problems of spending bank that is there to get Kun back in? hmmmmmmm
Any ideas, tips or abuse on a horrid selection?

Wilson and Deeney are very similar and its hard to call who will settle best of them. Deeney is on Watford penalties though so (and not that Wilson isn’t) that might tip the balance. Both are sure to start for their clubs.

I would remove sentiment and loyalty out of fantasy decisions. Whilst Clyne’s attacking abilities are unquestionable – Liverpool, their formation, defensive stability and fixtures are. I have Mertesacker now as I think Wenger may start with his strongest which is likely he and Koscielny.
I picked Huth due to his scoring record whilst at Stoke. 16 goals in his PL career is not bad for a defender. He got 6 one season! Always a threat from set plays.
I defintely think this season Rooney is value, at least to start with, for that price.
