Guess who’s back, back again… with fresh hair cuts and strippers galore!
Yep, we’re back, we hope we are anyway…. Unless any more players test positive between now and June 17th, because… you know, they just absolutely had to get their hair cut. Or party with some strippers. Like we are sure we all have in lockdown….
Anyway, we just wanted to give you an update on both the key points from an FPL perspective but also from ours in terms of what to expect from us over the next few weeks.
FPL Changes
The main one here is that those of you who have been diligently (let’s face it boredly) making transfers each week to get your teams in the best possible shape for the return may find it was a fool’s errand as we all now have UNLIMITED transfers prior to the next deadline. Which is WEDNESDAY JUNE 17TH AT 5PM.
Rather than waffle on needlessly, here is what the Premier League state on their own site:

What to expect.. not a lot in all honesty! But why? Here’s why…
FPL Fixtures
Other than the addition of an initial DGW the rest looks like it will pan out exectly as originally planned. At least for now. That is apart from GW31+ being reinstated in full, as opposed to it being a ‘blank’ ish one, as it was originally scheduled to be.
That initial DGW sees the addition of Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Man City vs Arsenal as they begin the new regime on the Wednesday before the rest start over the following weekend. Our Fixture Tracker has been ammended accordingly but we would probably take our usual colour ranking with a pinch of salt right now as it is based on normal conditions and does definitely take into consideration some sort of home / away bias, and if the Bundesliga is anything to go by then that particular advantage is out the window. Especially as some of these games look like beieng played at neutral venues. Can’t even begin to imagine why. At least not without insulting most of Liverpool or Manchester…..
We may do an initial Fixtures article but beyond that the opportunity to provide any articles between GW’s will be tight, and limited at best.

See the above, basically. Probably the best we can do here is to promise that your usual protagonists will be around in the comment section to help and advise where possible.

We intend to do one of these prior to ‘GW30+’, in fact it is already in hand. Beyond that though we can’t promise anything, again for the reasons stated above; literally no time.

This will be posted prior to GW30+ and will have the usual stuff on it such as the deadline and the weekly fixtures picture, as well as the new addition of the FF247 Site Team info.
We don’t intend to post a new one prior to each GW, instead we shall do what we have done with Bundesliga and simply update the article each time a deadline passes with new info. Given that it will contain the aforementioned FF247 Site Team info it will be updated earlier than usual.

It seems as though here are dilemmas aplenty already :manic: .
My gut feeling is to BB for GW30+ then WC for GW31+, FH for GW32, TC a MCI player for GW38+ (vs NOR).
3 MCI, an ARS or two and with a smattering of SHU and AVL. I need to sit down with my abacus and work out if I can buy back Salah/Mane if I go that way though; FH might be the way to go.

I like the sound of that plan and will probably play my chips in a very similar way. Except the TC which is gone. You would need to be very secure in your City selection come the last day – they could have checked out already and it might be fringe and kids players so have a back-up plan.

Bid decision in League One today!
I read a lot of different opinions but let’s summarize them here. To clarify, I’ve already used my TC chip, that’s why I don’t include it as an option in these scenarios.
Option A – BB and load up on DGW players and WC next GW (taking full advantage of the DGW and using BB)
Option B – FH (taking advantage of the DGW without losing TV, if you are happy with your current team)
Option C – use some free transfers to set up your team for GW30+ & GW31+, FH in GW32 (Liv-MC), WC33/34, BB34/35 (partially taking advantage of the DGW and giving yourselves a bit of flexibility for the upcoming fixtures)

Good point! The rotation risk is much more significant later in the season. Also, I saw your comment about CBs and FBs, and totally agree which is why I consider option A even though option B/C are more suitable for my team (on paper).
I’ve spent every penny i own on this team, they have ok fixtures for gw31 and i now have 2 playing goalies ready for hopefully a sgw BB, The thought of changing it with unlimited transfers and not getting anywhere near this team back, make me pretty certain i will go B, the Free hit for GW30, leaving me just my WC and BB for later :scratch_one-s_head: :hi:
Yeah I get it but even so what’s Willian and Mctominay doing in there
Willian will get points, McTominay is just an enabler, cheap and he can get the odd goal from outside the box, but he will look ok on my bench
I don’t think Mctominay will play now personally. Well not every week from the start. I’m a Chelsea fan and Willian turns up one in five and might be leaving
I think you feel the same way of Willian as i do of Martial Smash, Willian is averaging 4pts a game, that’s more than Mount and only just below Pullisic, if i thought Pullisic was going to get more playing time i would have preferred him, as for McTominay, He has slowly pushed Matic out and if Pogba does get his undeserved return, i think Fred will be the one pushed out, a bit of a gamble, but i’m happy to take it, I’m ranked in the 112,000’s at the moment, if i make the top 100k, i will be happy

I looked at it last night and I’m definitely going the way of ‘A’
I do have a sort of “free and easy” with this season I think because of the circumstances. I’m going in early and big on the DGW.

What I would say about A is that you are not really BB a double game week. Only 1/4 bench players will have 2 games, the rest will all be single GW players. Although you may have more game time certainty with the first GW.
Closest we will get to maxing out the BB though. That’s how I see it.

Regarding B it would be good to have clarification. GW30-38 have been removed from player histories, so is it the GW29 or GW38 teams we get back?
I really hope it’s going back to GW38 cause otherwise it is going to be disastrous for people choosing option B.

You can’t use Unlimited Transfers, play Free Hit and expect to revert to your ‘Unlimited Transfers team’ the next week.

Azpilicueta to Luiz?
I was thinking about it, just can’t see Arsenal clean sheet on the road, even against Brighton wheres Azpilicueta might chip in with assist or CS against villa…
I was also considering Leno for save points but gave up on that as well.
It is just my opinion though, and I am usually wrong.
Just a suggestion so if you don’t fancy it I’d keep Azpilicueta if you think he’s better.
Azpil to Gomez maybe. I agree I only see Brighton as a potential clean sheet which is why I’ve gone for Leno as he should pick up some saves
I think there’ll be loads of goals, think I’ll invest only in defs like Doherty who have loads of attacking threat… Think Doherty and a cheapie is worth considering over Azpi/Boly (although Boly has some threat too, granted)… But worth a thought I think

No two chips in the same week – you can use them in back to back weeks.
I’ll wildcard after this and then keep the FH chip for whenever it feels right but I fancy using it on the last day if I can.

No, it won’t. Do that and you’ll get in 31 what you pick for 30. Use FH in 30 and you’ll get your old 29 team back.

If I now use unlimited transfer, let’s say I change only 5 players. Than I save my team, than use FH. After GW30 will my in my team be those 5 free transfer?
No, if you use FH it will void any transfers you have made!
