The Premier League Returns… and so does FF247!

Welcome to The Premier League Returns… and so does FF247!

Guess who’s back, back again… with fresh hair cuts and strippers galore!

Yep, we’re back, we hope we are anyway…. Unless any more players test positive between now and June 17th, because… you know, they just absolutely had to get their hair cut. Or party with some strippers. Like we are sure we all have in lockdown….

Anyway, we just wanted to give you an update on both the key points from an FPL perspective but also from ours in terms of what to expect from us over the next few weeks.

FPL Changes
The main one here is that those of you who have been diligently (let’s face it boredly) making transfers each week to get your teams in the best possible shape for the return may find it was a fool’s errand as we all now have UNLIMITED transfers prior to the next deadline. Which is WEDNESDAY JUNE 17TH AT 5PM.

Rather than waffle on needlessly, here is what the Premier League state on their own site:

FF247 ARTICLES
What to expect.. not a lot in all honesty! But why? Here’s why…

FPL Fixtures
Other than the addition of an initial DGW the rest looks like it will pan out exectly as originally planned. At least for now. That is apart from GW31+ being reinstated in full, as opposed to it being a ‘blank’ ish one, as it was originally scheduled to be.

That initial DGW sees the addition of Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Man City vs Arsenal as they begin the new regime on the Wednesday before the rest start over the following weekend. Our Fixture Tracker has been ammended accordingly but we would probably take our usual colour ranking with a pinch of salt right now as it is based on normal conditions and does definitely take into consideration some sort of home / away bias, and if the Bundesliga is anything to go by then that particular advantage is out the window. Especially as some of these games look like beieng played at neutral venues. Can’t even begin to imagine why. At least not without insulting most of Liverpool or Manchester…..

We may do an initial Fixtures article but beyond that the opportunity to provide any articles between GW’s will be tight, and limited at best.

FIXTURE TRACKER
This has been updated accordingly and now looks like this:

FIXTURE TRACKER 2019/20

Player Tips?
See the above, basically. Probably the best we can do here is to promise that your usual protagonists will be around in the comment section to help and advise where possible.

CAPOS
We intend to do one of these prior to ‘GW30+’, in fact it is already in hand. Beyond that though we can’t promise anything, again for the reasons stated above; literally no time.

FF247 Site Team
We shall continue to do our transfers and we will post those and our weekly Captain Picks in our Live Match Chat article as detailed below.

Live Match Chat
This will be posted prior to GW30+ and will have the usual stuff on it such as the deadline and the weekly fixtures picture, as well as the new addition of the FF247 Site Team info.

We don’t intend to post a new one prior to each GW, instead we shall do what we have done with Bundesliga and simply update the article each time a deadline passes with new info. Given that it will contain the aforementioned FF247 Site Team info it will be updated earlier than usual.

The games for GW30+in full…

Thanks for reading The Premier League Returns… and so does FF247!

Here is my latest draft. My plan is to bench boost and then wildcard shortly after. Would love to have Sterling over Mahrez I must admit but the cash saving enables Pepe which may not be worth it. Kiko is not great but there’s not much out there at 4.2. Any suggestions are most welcome

      MHD says:

Hmmmmm, with WC shortly after, do you mean next GW? Cos I think too much SHU-even for a DGW-and no Salah/mane is a little bit of concern.

      • Smash says:

Yep likely next GW or week after

      • Stone Frog says:

Good point regarding Salah. 43% ownership, could cause some significant pain, but there’s no way to have everyone.

        • Smash says:

Yeah just need the funds elsewhere really. Everton under Ancelotti should in theory not get smashed. He might score but I’d be surprised if he goes nuts. Then it’s whether it’s Salah or Mane generally. Liverpool might be a bit more defensive I feel as they see out the league. They might get pulled off before the 90 as well as there’s no need to risk them

Looks good. But I would cap KDB instead of Kun.

      The B says:

Smash. I have the same strategy.
BB this GW. Go heavy on DGW players.
      WC next GW.
Free Hit in final GW to have one last hurrah.

That defence is either a win or a loss. I’d diversify some eggs there.

Also do we think the dead teams with Salah and Mane as captains will climb ranks soon? Liverpool will be looking for big wins in the next two GWs for sure to seal this season as soon as possible.

      • Smash says:

Yeah defence does look like that but going triple Sheffield United means you go for their defenders/keeper. They rotate up top and there’s not much else. They have two decent enough fixtures.

As for Mane and Salah yeah possibly just hoping they don’t smash Everton. I think they might be more cagey is grinding out wins personally. Ancelotti won’t want to be embarrassed and Everton have been more solid but still I’d expect them to score just hope they don’t go nuts

Hello all. Been 3 months since I was here. Hope all are well.

Who to get to play alongside KdB just for GW30+? Mahrez /Sane/Sterling?

    The B says:

Okay. A noob. I know. I know. You didn’t expect this from me. But times change. And we gotta live with that.

How do I know if my Wild Card is still intact?

    Zed Leppelin says:

Here’s my potential BB team, what do you think? I quite like it smile

    • 40.1

Nice. That’s now the 3rd one I’ve ‘saved to copy’. I think the others were GP and Tornado. All a bit different, I’ll post below. Reliant on Nketiah game time that but I believe he scored a hatty in a friendly the other day.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

Yes indeed he scored a hatty in a friendly recently and I read he had a great match, he also scored against Everton in GW27 and played in GWs 26-28 for quite many minutes, he’s a punt but a great cheap enabler at that!

    • 40.2
      constantine says:

Looks good Zed. Are you planning to BB in GW30? Then may be Nketiah needs to be checked

    • 40.3
      Smash says:

Yeah I like that. Think I have that exact draft somewhere. Nketiah I’m not sure about but then he might get similar minutes to Pepe/Ozil at a fraction of the price. Think I read Villa have a friendly might be tonight so I’m interested by Mcginn’s minutes. Doherty I always think 6.3 is too much but might be worth a punt in the setup as he’s capable of a big score

    • 40.4

Very nice. You see Nketiah playing both?

      Kralin says:

I saw the side and I’m groping for new levels of rapture.

The cheapo Arsenal striker has my jaw hanging open in wonder.

I’m going for the Sheffield U goalie but other personnel v similar to you.

Nobody else seems to be going for the Sheffield United goalie and I’m half-wondering if I’ve missed something obvious, like he’s set up residence in the Pitcairn Islands.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

To be totally frank I feel a lot different now than usually when it comes to FPL, not feeling the seriousness, somehow taking it more lightly, I’m not trying too hard it seems, I’m loving a cheap differential pick now whereas normally I’d sweat about it thinking I should really do better… Having Nketiah feels good and, simple as that, that’s what I’ll do!

        • Kralin says:

Before the plague I was pretty well set for a good run at the top 10k, all chips getting lined up.

After – or rather, during – I feel it’s a real lottery now and very unpredictable. Players who were injured for the rest of the season are now available. There’s a level of unreality, like being on holiday and then going back to the holiday destination a week after returning home.

Plus my heart isn’t quite in the same place regarding football given the turmoil in the UK. However, here I am of course.

As such I fancy playing one chip in the final GW – something I’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t, and daresay I probably won’t.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Definitely will be a lottery, isn’t it always?

        • Kralin says:

GW1 yes, which this is really: GW+1 with a lot of baggage.

Getting lucky with the captain may decide a few mini-leagues.

    Hey guys.
It’s good to be back. I hope everyone is keeping well. Anyway I think I’ll be bench boosting in 30 and have come up with this. Any views? Thanks guys.

    MattX says:

Someone decide for me because I can’t decide what to do!

I’m happy enough with my current team as double Wolves and United have great fixtures. Triple Liverpool who can be reduced if they rotate too much or relax after winning the title. Only have a few issues with Ings, Leicester and McCarthy in my mind anyway.

    1. Should I play FH and keep my current team, using WC and BB later?
    2. Use the unlimited transfers to set up for DGW and BB then WC to fix the team and us FH at some point?

What’s stopping me from pulling the trigger is we don’t know how teams will play at the restart, who will start, how long will they play for etc.
