Top Picks from the Promoted Three
Leeds United, Fulham and West Brom are all back in the big time and already some names have jumped out as FPL bargains in the opening weeks.
Here’s a look at some of the players from the promoted sides that have made a flying start this season and have provided excellent value for those who took a punt in the first handful of rounds.
Patrick Bamford – Leeds United
There were plenty of question marks surrounding Patrick Bamford going into the current campaign but the Whites striker has silenced many of his critics.
Three goals in the first four games before the international break and Bamford showed why manager Marcelo Bielsa has such great faith in the 27-year-old, who already had 30 FPL points to his name at that point in time.

With Leeds breaking their transfer record to sign forward Rodrigo from Valencia over the summer, some thought Bamford might struggle for game time.
However, Bamford is still Bielsa’s number one and with Rodrigo potentially providing the assist, there is plenty more to come from Leeds’ No.9, with his side at 6/1 to finish in the Premier League’s top six in the football betting at William Hill.
It’s also worth noting that after the first four games, only nine players in the entire league had more FPL points than Bamford.
Matheus Pereira – West Brom
West Brom might have been looking for their first Premier League win of the season going into the international break but Matheus Pereira has already shown he is more than capable at the top level.
A player who stood out in the Championship last season, the 24-year-old already has 19 points to his name and again represents value for money at 6.0.
When big names like Kevin De Bruyne (in 40.1% of FPL teams) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (23.7%) have recorded fewer points than Pereira at this stage, it shows there is short-term value to be had with some of these promoted stars.
Of course the long-term success will often be found with these top players but that does come at a price, with KDB currently up at 11.6 and Aubameyang 11.9.
Pereira looks capable of being a solid selection going forward as he produces assists as well as looking a threat himself in front of goal.
Aleksandar Mitrovic – Fulham
There have been few things to shout about with Fulham’s start to the season but Aleksandar Mitrovic remains a talisman for Scott Parker’s side.
At a cost of 5.9, Mitrovic has returned 17 points so far and finds himself in 14.4% of FPL teams.
Goals have been a real issue for the Cottagers at the start of the season with just three scored by the entire team in their first four outings.
Mitrovic bagged two of those goals in the 4-3 defeat to Leeds, a match in which Fulham nearly completed a memorable comeback at Elland Road when 4-1 down.
Not a Mitrovic owner here, but, if you are & are thinking of dumping him ahead of GW5, I’d urge you not to.
Would be very unfortunate not to score 2-3 in the next 4. You kept him for the tricky run, give him the easy one. pic.twitter.com/3SatUG3eum

The fact the Serbian forward has been able to get goals when Fulham have struggled shows his effectiveness and he still looks like a bargain option as a possible ‘third-choice’ striker in many FPL teams.
