UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!
Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2019/20 Last 16 – 2nd Leg, Part 2!.
Right then, forget that Scottish nonsense, real football is back on Friday! (In fairness it’s doing a roaring trade and has attracted over 400 comments as we speak). But come on you CL’ers, time to stand up, do us proud and put that particular Scotch Egg back in its basket (and no, I don’t mean GP).
We begin again on Friday and essentially we pick up where we left off way back in March. But it’s a bit weird as we are basically half way through the 2nd part of the last 16. Four of the quarter finalists are already decided, the other four are still to be decided as those eight teams need to complete their 2nd legs of the original ties. And only then can we move on onto the rest of the tournament. And you yourselves will have been left in limbo, half-way between rounds with subs next on the agenda. Confused yet? Don’t worry, we got you..
So what do you really need to know this week…
It’s as you were…
It looks like the game is literally restarting where we left off. There are no extra transfers, no wildcard or unlimited transfers as per FPL. Essentially we were part way through a GW and so you just have to crack on as if the last 5 months never happened, which a lot of us wish hadn’t, ironically.
In theory you should find your team with points from the completed first half of the last 16, ready for you to bring in any manual subs for the final four games, a bit like this:
That’s mine, and so it looks like I’m all set to bring in a few bench players to replace my lower scorers. You should find yourselves with something similar.
The Fixtures and Subs
Which brings us on to the fixtures as these games are still split over two days, as follows:
And we can still make changes between the two, so in my example above I’ll initially be subbing in my Juve guys before Friday’s deadline and then I can bring in Gnabry on Saturday, if necessary.
Captain
Suffice to say I won’t be touching my captain but if you weren’t so lucky to have put it on the legend that is IIicic then you can move it before Friday and then again on Saturday if necessary.
Deadline(s)
The main one is the first one of course which is Friday 7th August at 8pm GMT. Which is kick off time too so you will at least have the benefit of seeing the team sheets for all of Juve, Lyon, Man City and Real Madrid. Your subs will need to be done by then.
The next one is Saturday 8th August again at 8pm.
Beyond that?
You then get unlimited transfers once again ahead of the quarter-finals, 5 for the semis and 5 for the final itself.
Those games themselves are schedulded as follows:
Quarters
12th August Atalanta v PSG
13th August RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid
14th August Napoli / Barca v Chelsea / Bayern
15th August Real Madrid / Man City v Lyon / Juve
Semis
18th August
19th August
Final
23rd August

We have two leagues running;
Our official FF247 league code is 32NQYUI4KW
This one is the usual open air league that all and sundry are welcome to join; there are over 1000 people in it. We have no idea who most of them are!
Our other one, the ‘Regulars League’ is now only open to new entrants via email
Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk if you want the code.

The Top 10 as we stand…
(Apologies for it clearly being my screenshot and not a neutral one but DMC usually provides that and he had the temerity to step into the top 10 this time and therefore couldn’t provide one. I did ask Elle to do so but he sent me something akin to a screenshot of Space Invaders from his Amstrad).
Should be fairly straight-forward this week but if you have any queries just post them in the comments below and as always ask questions, post teams and generally just have a good natter…
Do I gamble 10 points and move the armband on one of the City boys?
If yes, to whom :scratch_one-s_head:
I wouldn’t.
Jesus or Sterling for captain? Can anyone help me decide, or should I ask The Magic 8-Ball?
If was to choose between those two I would have gone for Sterling.
Tornado,
I went Sterling.
Yeah, Sterling.
Cheers fellas! Sterling it is then
And sorry for posting that reply here, it was meant to be a separate comment.
Thanks Tornado, I was thinking the same. Whatever happens City will share the goals as usual. Staying put
I’m staying with Lewy
Lyon are great at passing and holding onto the ball. MC are a bit hit and miss.
And there you have it!
O-oh!
Makes the game more interesting.
1-0 down after the first half is nothing in UCL terms. The second half is always livelier, especially in the last 15 minutes. City just have to pull one back for confidence and then take it from there
I’d fully expect a different City to emerge after the break.
Yep, I think a strong comeback is on the cards.
I was right, they were worse
Init hahah
It’s not working at the moment. Foden needs to come on.
Nope, not working. Lyon look the better team. Individually their players are stronger too. MC free kicks are lacking. Fingers crossed this turns around soon.
Yes!!! At last!
What a cool finish tho by KDB
As I said above, that’s what City needed. From now on it will be a massive battle and only clever play will bring the winner.
What the heck was Ederson doing so far outside his goal?
O-oh!
Bees, I told you yesterday about the silly mistake City could make. Now, there is no going back
Someone please shoot Sterling. That miss just sums up this game. Ridiculous.
MC out of CL…they are all thumbs today. What a bummer.
I told that Lyon is the bogey team for City.
At least we havent got to worry about MNC having a blank week 1 now !
Unfortunately we do as it’s still within the 30 days.
30 days is up to Mon 14th Sep. So as long as the schedulers are sensible enough to put them against a team that’s not in EFL cup round 2 ( eg Liv, Lei, Che, Ars) then they can play midweek and stay in GW1
Well, it’s fair to say that didn’t go according to plan – I only need to sell 7 players now :big-lol:
Same here. I’ve got 8 through and 7 out. But that’s not so bad, 5 transfers will be enough to get a strong side as long as the ones we already have stay fit and selected
