Hello everyone and welcome to UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football 2024/25.
If you haven’t played before then don’t worry, it’s fairly simple and we shall walk you through the basics below.
If you have played before then it is essentially the same as usual, despite the stark new format of the Champions League itself. Scoring, rules and chips look generally the same. The fixtures in terms of our ‘Matchdays’ follow roughly as what they were previously, only that MD1 (and this alone) is split over 3 midweek days, rather than the usual 2.
To the main business at hand. What we will do here is;
1. Cover the basics.
2. Provide FF247 league details with codes and links.
3. Detail the fixtures along with deadlines.
1. The basics
The Rules
As far as the rules go, you can access them here via – THIS LINK but let us give you a quick rundown of what they are.
The main crux of the game at this stage though is the subtle difference between ‘Match Days’ and ‘GW’s’. CL is split into a Tuesday and a Wednesday format (apart from MD1 – see above) within the same GW. For Captains as well as Manual Subs you treat Tuesday as phase 1 of the GW and Wednesday as phase 2. And you can make changes to both in-between these.

- SCORING
The scoring itself is pretty much as per FPL. The only real differences that we would notice is that there are no bonus points and we will not get an assist if our player wins a penalty that is scored, but the player will get 2 points for winning said penalty no matter if it results in a goal or not. A player also gets a point for every 3 ‘ball recoveries’ too. Instead of FPL style bonus points you get 3 points for the ‘Player of the Match’,

- FORMAT
The format is a bit like the Euro fantasy. For those who aren’t familiar with this it basically means a tad more planning as you can sub players in before they have played to replace those that already have. A quick example would be to pick an Arsenal guy, let’s call him Kai, for arguments sake. And maybe a Man City guy, let’s call him Erling. If Kai plays on Day 1 you can put him in your X1 and see how he does, whilst placing Erling on your bench. If you like what you see from Kai then you can leave him in the team. If he has a stinker (likely) then you can simply activate manual subs and bring Erling in to replace him for his later game. Simples, really. Don’t pick Kai :no:

If you activate a manual sub then your right to auto subs (as per FPL) disappears. You have the option to do either. Manual subs is your best bet we feel as you control who comes in and you get 4 more shots at getting it right, basically.

The Captain Armband works in much the same way as fantasy world cup and not FPL. You may change your captain after each match day (if he was not sent off) with a player from your squad whose team is yet to play.

There are a couple;
Wildcard
You get 1 regular wildcard and you can play it anytime you like prior to the start of a round. It acts the same way it does in FPL.
Limitless Wildcard
This is a different type of wildcard here, one that many will find very appealing. It is very similar to the “Free Hit” chip we have in FPL. However, there is one major difference… “The Limitless Wildcard enables the user to create a team without any budget restrictions and affords them unlimited transfers for one matchday.” So for one matchday you can afford whatever team you like. You do still have to meet the criteria for players from one team and formations and all that, but there is no budget, so spend away. Once the matchday is over, just like the free hit chip, our teams revert back.

3. MD1 Fixtures

- Deadlines
Deadlines are subject to change and will be at the time of kick-off of the first match of the matchday. So unlike FPL you do get to see the line-ups in advance and adjust accordingly. Most seem to be at 5.45pm UK time on the group stage. Except for the final one on Jan 29th when it is 8pm and we have all 36 teams playing on the same night!!!

I’m in! Looking forward to this starting. I really like this format – should make it very exciting. Should, I hope!
Early days, but I think I’m eyeing up a chip for GW8 (if possible), as all the lineups for every single team involved are announced at once.
LA, it will be quite new for all of us. Every team will play 8 games in the group phase. The first eight go though and the rest will play extra two-legged knock-out phase play-off to determine the other eight for the knockout stage. Unlike previous seasons, no break in December and January. That means, lots of rotations on here and of course FPL.
Yes this format is more exciting as each game and even each goal counts and every MD we ll have some big teams clashing. And bit tricky when to use WC and LL. Need to put initial team thinking bit long term now.
Yep, no more resting big guns in MD3 or 4, it will be down to the wire. Worth keeping the chips until et least MD 7…
Exciting? The format is the biggest load of steaming horse shite I’ve ever come across!!
Well no one is forced to watch
I find it better than the predictable group stage matches where we almost always knew which 2 will get out of the group. It would have 1 group of death and 7 predictable groups.
I’ve no intention of watching it!
The only reason they’ve changed the format is to create more games and make more money. The same teams will still qualify.
At first glance, I am still to figure out where from to start. With 3 MDs, got used to a strategy. Now with 8 MDs, its kind of difficult.
I’m looking at MD3 for limitless chip, then either MD6 or 8 for the Wildcard. The latter depending on how MDs 1-7 go!
My first very quick draft. Lots of work to be done. Most likely one of the premium strikers will be downgraded to strengthen the mids and defenders. And of course, there are many games before the start in which anything can happen.

Same GK setup as me! I like it. Impressed you’ve managed to fit that front 3 as well as Salah.
If going for real Madrid fwd, complete 50-50 between mbappe and vinicius. They even seem to share penalties. Rodrygo is there in the mix too. Difficult to predict who among these will haul. Rm also have only 1 non penalty goal last 3 weeks in la liga.
Still haven’t finalised the team and a a few changes will be done.
I got a cheap fwd currently and thinking to switch kane to mbappe/ vinicius gw2. But all this could change of course. Have 1.5m itb also.

Nice, Reg! Do you think Lewis would be first choice? Never heard of Nene, will have a look into him. Raphinha’s a good pick – Yamal gets a lot of the headlines but Raph’s doing pretty well too! I like the Kane pick too. I can’t get him in – I’ve gone Haaland and Mbappe instead (all 3 would be great, but it’s too much up top, I think).
Nene seems to be a regular scorer for salzburg and they have one of the best fixtures. Not sure on Lewis, might change him. Raphinha was more in form but now i see lamine scored a brace this weekend so lamine might be safer choice. Needs some rework with now predicted lineups out
