Welcome to World Cup 1st Group Phase Live Match Chat. The long four year wait is over and so is the tinkering for the first set of matches. We hope that you are happy with the 15 players you ended up with, but even if you decided against playing the fantasy version we still encourage you to partake in the chat below. We are sure there will be plenty to discuss that doesn’t always involve whether you should get assist points for a shot that was blocked or your striker really did touch the ball a la Kane before it went in. Predictor games, brackets, bets on the golden boot are all welcomed here. And yeah, even old school footy chat for those that who are just watching the games for fun and just want to talk about the Joga Bonito.
So that you have them to hand, we will post a screenshot of the substitution rules, transfer allotment, wildcard, boosters and of course we will have times and dates for all matches in this, the first of three group phases/rounds/fixtures or whatever you want to call it.

FFS you research players who take the penalties and both Messi & Cueva miss them. Jesus gets the armband tomorrow so maybe a hat trick of penalty misses coming up? 17 points so far from 7 players!!!!

I may be alone in this, but i Think that the keeper should get credited with a penalty save whether he touches the ball or not. To not give it to him completely takes away the mental aspect of penalty taking.

Well if the goalie guesses to one direction and the penalty taker changes their choice and goes the other way and kicks it over the bar should we not give credit to the keeper for what they’ve caused the attacker to do? Yet they go unrewarded.
Again, I may be alone in this but that will only make me more adamant! :winktongue:

I think he owns two of them now.
I can see where you’re coming from Pancho. Strikers can miss and get minus or then can have it saved and get minus but more often than not they score so it balances itself.

I’m surprised by the start I’m having mate. I left the armband on Golovin, Gimenez got a goal and CS, Muslera as well then I have Eriksen that’s basically all I’ve had play so far except I replaced De Arracuesta.

You’re doing great bro!! Well done man! I’m doing ok, got a CS from my keeper, 2/3 CS at the back, nice getting one from my Danish £4.5 there, especially when I ditched Cueva so I was nervous watching that Pen!! Got Eric as well, had the Armband on him but with Jesus, Lukaku, Jrod and Lewandowski still to come I’ll be bouncing it again tomorrow!!
@Init – not too bad. The better players are definitely still to come. Neymar alone can double people’s points. How much is it for a peno miss? Same as FPL?
Cheers mate. Who is the Dane? Cueva will probably be affected by the miss for the rest of the tournament now. Looked poor in the 2nd half.
It’s a -2 for missing it but they still award him the +2 for winning it so Cueva ends on +2. I agree, he lost it after that and we need to find a replacement.
