Put your FPL skills to the test in this weekend’s Bundesliga fantasy football contest and shoot for the €10,000 first place prize.

FINALLY! Fantasy Football is returning to our screens and our lives this weekend, thanks to Fanteam.com.

The first big European league returns this weekend, with Germany’s Bundesliga season resuming behind closed doors on Saturday 16th May.

To celebrate this return, our good friends at Fanteam have created a massive €50,000 Bundesliga fantasy football contest, with a 1st place prize of €10,000 in guaranteed cash.

The fantasy contest kicks off with 5 fixtures on Saturday at 14:30 BST, and ends with Union Berlin vs. Bayern Munich on Sunday, featuring a total of 8 games across both days.

How to Enter
To enter this contest, head over to to the Fanteam lobby here – if you’re a new customer, please follow this link and grab your free account before continuing.

Once logged in to your account, you’ll see this Saturday’s German €50K Monster contest towards the top of the lobby – click the entry button to begin selecting your team.

Rules
The format is 11-a-side, with no subs and you can pick a maximum of 3 players from any one team using your 100M budget. Just like FPL!

Oh – and please remember to select a captain as he will earn you DOUBLE points. Again, just like FPL.

For those of you that are new to Fanteam, you can find a full breakdown of how the scoring system works by clicking on the Scoring button above the pitch view when logged in.

Your team must have at least 1 x Goalkeeper, 3 x Defenders, 2 x Midfielders and 1 x Forward – allowing you to play your favourite FPL formations of 3-4-3, 4-4-2 and even 3-5-2, if you so wish.

Build a Team
To assist with your selection, each player is given a coloured icon to the left of their name, indicating his chances of featuring.

Green means the player is expected to start, while red indicates the player is set to miss out and a half green/half yellow icon means it’s 50-50.

Be sure to also keep an eye on the latest team news as we move closer to the deadline, to give yourself the best chance of fielding an XI.

You can find details on the form and recent Gameweek’s scoring for each player but clicking on a players shirt or name and viewing their History.

Starting between the stick – Baynern Munich’s premium shot-stopper, Manuel Neuer is the most expensive goalkeeper in this contest, at 10.5m.

The German international has kept clean sheets in each of his last 2 outings, earning an average of 5.8 points across his last 6 appearances and is likely to be one of the most owned players this weekend on Fanteam.

Leipzig have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 games, making their defenders worthy of consideration – but like Neuer, are likely to be popular picks due to form and fixture so, be prepared to spend some valuable budget on these guys.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, have kept out their opponents in 3 of their last 4 outings; earning Pavard and Hummels respective averages of 5.3 and 4.8 points per game, over that spell.

So, now we move onto the midfielders, where there is an array of talent, such as Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman and Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

At 13.3m, the young Englishman has been given the most expensive price tag amongst midfielders, after recording a goal or assist in each of the last 6 Gameweeks.

He’s amassed 3 goals and 4 assists over that spell, to average 7.7 points per game and if fit to start this weekend, is likely to be the highest owned player across this fantasy tournament.

And now we come to the business end of your lineup – it’s time to pick your attacking fire-power with what’s left of your 100M budget.

These are typically the most expensive players in the game and tend to eat up your budget, so, it may be worth lowering you expectations when it comes to attempting a front-line of premium stars and maybe opt for just on – or two at a stretch.

Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Leipzig’s Timo Werner are sure to be amongst the highest owned forwards, but come at a steep price.

The break has allowed the league’s top scorer, Robert Lewandowski, to recover from a leg injury ahead of the meeting with Union Berlin on Sunday.

The Polish international captain has bagged 4 goals across his last 4 outings, to average 7.8 points per game and should be the first name on your team sheet.

Once you’re happy with your 11-man lineup, it’s time to decide on a captain.

You can do this by clicking on your chosen player and selecting set as captain, or, you can use the drop-down menu above the pitch.

And remember – this player earns you double points, so be sure to choose a solid vice-captain, just incase your captain doesn’t play.

Enter Your Team
Once you’ve settled on a lineup you’re confident with, click the yellow enter tournament button towards the top right of the page.

You can still make unlimited changes to your lineup before the 14.30 BST deadline, when the first matches kick off, so be sure to keep an eye out for that all-important early team news.

For those of you looking to play for lower stakes, Fanteam also have a German €1.5K Mini-Monster, which is just 50 cents per lineup to enter. This too can be found in the lobby at Fanteam.com.

How many did Havertz get today? I had to move Muller and rearrange my defence so can’t bring Kai back till next week. Only had Kenny (5) this evening.
