Fantasy Football Fixtures

The first FPL article of the week that looks forward to the up and coming gameweek is the Fantasy Football Fixtures article, where we sort through which Premier League clubs have the easiest and hardest looking fantasy premier league fixtures for the short-term and thus enable managers to construct their FPL squads and think over transfers accordingly.

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 37 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 37. One mans struggle in the real world. Saturday 19th May 2018 (One week post-FPL) Gordon perched on his stool and surveyed the array of options laid out on the breakfast bar in front of him. He just couldn’t decide what to have. His wife stuck her head around the door, she looked different somehow, he wasn’t sure how, just different. “Hurry up, you do this every Saturday, we need to be in car by 11.30”. Gordon checked his watch, 10.35, plenty of time. He went back to staring at the colourful array of boxes in front of him. The stupid thing was he’d made the decision about what to have days ago, but when he’d reached for the box of Cornflakes he found there wasn’t enough left for a bowl; so...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 36

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 36 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 36. We are back with regular articles again. Well, probably for two weeks. Or maybe just this one. I just do as I am told. Writing articles at this time of the year is a bit strange; almost anyone could be playing in Gameweek 38. I would not be surprised to see Wenger dust off his boots for his farewell, so the focus of this article is really on Double Gameweek 37 and transfer planning from now until then. Wenger’s decision to part ways with Arsenal was probably overdue, but I cannot wait for Robbie and co pining for him to come back and replace Brendan Rodgers after a 6-0 hammering at the hands of Wolves in Gameweek 1 of the 2018/2019 campaign. To be fair to Arsene, his squad lacks de...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis DGW34

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis DGW34 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis DGW34. We’ve arrived at the business end of the season. Or silly season as I prefer to call it. Double game-weeks sandwiching blank game-weeks, for some chip utilisation strategies have become bigger issues than Brexit or a Trump trade war, while those FPL managers who have already burned some of their chips are looking around with envy and bewilderment as they attempt to navigate the last few weeks. This week’s Fixtures article will focus exclusively on those teams who play twice in DGW34 – we’ll analyse their fixtures and form and give our view on whether they will make or break your DGW34. The All Important Fixture Tracker… Gameweek Tracker GW34-38 Bournemouth – Liverpool (a), Man Utd ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 33 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 33. It’s his ankle again, they said. It’s worse than before, they said. Six to eight weeks, they said. Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs’ medical staff and Ben Dinnery have collectively ruined those hastily-activated GW32 wildcard teams as Spurs’ talisman ran onto the pitch for the final quarter of an hour against Chelsea, not missing a single Premier League game in the process. Well played to all involved! This cunning plan might just have saved my mini-league hopes (although I am the admin of it so I tend to just kick out those who are ahead of me in the closing stages). Most amusing of all is that it was Heung-Min Son who made way for the striker, with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 32

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 32 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 32. Hold onto your hats folks, it’s going to be a bumpy ride! Wildcards, double gameweeks, blank gameweeks and more chips than Vegas baby! It’s time to gamble, do you go all in or play it safe? However you play, there is no denying this is the most exciting part of the season. It’s payback time for that annoying bloke from work, you know the one, we all have one in our mini league; their chips were spent long ago, their meagre returns celebrated (in your face) like three lines and the bonus ball and they think theyr’e Rockefeller, with proclamations of ‘this year is my year, loser’, bless them. They’re heading into the final furlong, blissfully ignorant of double and blank gameweeks, n...[Read More]

The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them… Welcome to The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them….Having kept us in suspense for four days longer than we thought, the Premier League have at last started to release the dates of the rearranged fixtures. We now have a clear picture of DGW34, while the specific dates for the remaining fixtures still have to be officially revealed, although most indicators point to these matches being accommodated into GW37. So, these are the rearranged matches that are now part of DGW34: Brighton vs Spurs Bournemouth vs Man Utd Burnley vs Chelsea Leicester vs Southampton Therefore the following teams have two matches in DGW34: Bournemouth (liverpool, MAN UTD) Brighton (crystal palace, SPURS) Burnley (LEICESTER, CHELSEA) Chelsea (so...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 31

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 31 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 31. It’s finally arrived! BGW31 hasn’t so much been the elephant in the room who nobody dares to mention as the elephant in the room sat right on the bloody table in the middle of it. Eyeballing anybody who dares to mention a transfer without acknowledging him in some way. We should really name him, he’s been around for so long. Let’s call him Dumbo. Dumbo the BGW31 elephant. Dumbo has made people bring in Huddersfield players. Dumbo has made people double up on Everton defenders. Dumbo has made people buy 3 Liverpool players. Sometimes Dumbo isn’t that bad then. Good Dumbo. Dumbo has however even hoodwinked a few in to buying West Brom defenders! Evil Dumbo. Bu...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 30

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 30 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 30. Gameweek 29 saw Ben Davies – England’s best left-back – manage to clinch another clean sheet, although his performance was eclipsed by Heung-Min Son’s brace who confirmed that he really can only do it at home. Mohamed Salah scored again, but that ceased to be surprising back in August. West Brom lost again, but that ceased to be surprising at the back end of last season. Arsenal lost again, and that is just funny. The first half of the City-Chelsea game saw every football twitter page take it upon themselves to offer a live commentary. Without them I would not have known that Leroy Sane is ‘soooo good’, or that ‘Chelsea have come for a draw’, or that Mito would end the game sober if he p...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 28

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 28 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 28. And so it all becomes a bit clearer… Blank GW31 that is. We’d best spend a moment talking about that particular GW as it appears it may be the only one left which actually matters. Apparently. We are being facetious of course…. It is worth a mention though, don’t get us wrong. It’s significant in so much as it is on the horizon and will only feature 4 or 5 games and therefore 8 or 10 teams – Bournemouth vs West Brom Stoke vs Everton Liverpool vs Watford Huddersfield vs Crystal Palace Spurs v Newcastle is the 5th game and is dependant on Rochdale going to Wembley and winning. Which probably won’t happen. But don’t forget that we have 3 GW...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 27

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 27 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 27. Sometimes we do things in life because we feel obliged to. Christenings are a good example. I’ve never attended a Christening and thought ‘wow that was a great christening’. You know how it is though, your mate Dave from work invited you and Dave is a sound bloke, you don’t want to offend anyone, so you go. Once you’re there you never find yourself thinking ‘you know what, this is actually pretty good’, that never happens. So you sit there, play the part. Dave’s happy you went, the Mrs thinks Dave’s wife is canny so she’s alright, but you just want it to be over. That’s how I currently feel about FPL. Last game-week was brutal, the Marcos Alonso injury tipped me over the edge, just as I ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 25

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 25 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 25. Gameweek 24 divided friendship groups (or mine at least!) and the 247 community alike. For those who captained Aguero, Aguero scored a hat-trick. For those who did not, Aguero scored the worst hat-trick ever televised. It was worse than the goal the rubbish kid on your junior football team scores when you are 10-0 up and everyone’s task shifts to getting him to score. His first never touched him, his second was a penalty and almost saved, and his third was literally like the rubbish kid scoring his goal having stood on the penalty spot for the whole half after your best player who had trials for Chesterfield goes around their whole team to set him up. It is probably pretty clear by now t...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 24

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 24 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 24. After Pancho went off on an unexpected (even to him, apparently!) tangent with a great and different style Fixtures article last week we are back with a more bread and butter version this week with the teams who have the best and worst fixtures over the next few weeks analysed. Cookie and Init are in the hot seat this week. And you may well be seeing this combo a lot more in the weeks ahead. It’s a proven tag team which works because they enjoy writing together and feed off each other nicely. But possibly shouldn’t, for many reasons. And so before we proceed we thought we would give you a bit of an insight into their subtle differences! One (Init) is very much a bog standard ...[Read More]
