Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 35 Lovely DGW! You know sometimes there comes a time to quit a cult, which is just another way of saying that we wish we hadn’t been caught idolizing a Liver bird. Never trust Liverpool, never trust Liverpool, never… you get the drift, this was our Gerrard slip. Lucky to stay inside the top 3K, we dropped to 2882nd place. Now here comes the sign from a higher power that we should not trust the Scousers. We dropped 666 :satansmoking: places! We read the sign loud and clear, sell everything wearing red, Sterling, Moreno, Henderson and Kop. But before we sell everything, let us run a quick review of the GW pain we went through. As expected (somewhat) Ospina delivered a clean sheet for us. You might find it surprising to hear us say that, but CF...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 32 Well we sure know how to kill momentum in a hurry. A slow methodical climb back inside the top 2k was followed by a swift kick in the gut and a drop back outside of it. We now reside in 2810th place after a drop of 1070 spots and are looking shakier than Pelligrini’s job. Fortunately we are highly qualified in the art of denial so we feel our job is safe. Now let’s give a quick rundown of how our team fell apart worse than City’s title hopes. In Pulis we trust! Right until he allowed known wimpy road pushovers stick 4 in the back of the net. Splendid that Myhill transfer has turned out to be so far. Luckily though, we had Terry and surely a Stamford Bridge clean sheet was on the cards. We mean, the only chance Stoke had of scoring w...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 37 Falling faster than a girl’s panties at the sight of Giroud, we continued our downward trend. Although the drop wasn’t major, it still hurts. 309 spots was the fall this time and it landed us in 4932th place. One would think that when your captain scores 46 points, dropping in the standings shouldn’t be a concern, but low and behold we managed it. Well let us get on with it with a quick review of the team in GW36 before we discuss our transfer plans. Damn you goal line technology! Ospina and us were denied a clean sheet when a dumb little watch told the referee the ball went in. Sometimes progress is not good. Moving on we see McShane our new recruit decided to partake only 56 minutes in his game, wonderful. Luckily the rest of our ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 34 Another small climb in the overall has put us a bit closer to being inside the top 2k. After climbing another 335 spots we now sit in 2216. A spot that we are very happy with, but we have dreams of a higher finish. So this is no time to unbutton our pants and play around. There is no room for complacency in the final stretch and with doubles on the horizon we hope we can take full advantage. But as always, before we tell you of our plans for the upcoming gameweek, let us quickly review our performance in GW33. Finally Pulis, finally! Myhill in goal came through for us with a very solid 8 points. Our faith is now restored, well sort of, once you check the Baggies schedule over the last 5 games one might feel it is time to cut and run. Moving along to ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 33 After a slip in the standings last week, we were able to straighten up a bit and managed our 4th green arrow in the last 5 gameweeks. Our score of 54 helped us climb 259 spots into 2551 in the overall. It wasn’t a major gain, but we will take it. So before we go into our plans for the dreaded blank-ish GW33, let us run through the week that was. In Pulis we trust!? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. After another shocking defensive performance from the Baggies and 7 point keeper Ospina on our bench, there is plenty of disappointment to go around. Luckily though our Saints defenders got a clean sheet. Alderweireld raked in 9 points and Clyne got benched. FFS!! Oh well, at least old favourite PvA came in with the auto sub and g...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 31 Our slow methodical climb back into the top 1K continues. With our third straight green arrow on the bounce, we managed to move into 1740th place in the overall. This was a jump of 782 spots for us after a score of 91 for the week. Nice little move there, now let’s have a quick review on how it is it came about before we move onto our team for double game-week 31. In goal once again we went with Ospina, not like we had much of a choice with Foster injured. Frustratingly though Arsenal conceded once again, making that 4 out of the last 6 where they gave up just one goal. In our backline we went with the ever trustworthy Terry. With Chelsea visiting Hull this looked like an easy opportunity for some clean sheet points. Frustratingly though Chelse...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 30 Another green arrow!! How did we manage it you may ask? Basically by doing nothing and watching the GW implode on itself. In one of the FPL weeks to forget, we managed to fly up the overall. Well maybe not so much fly as crawl up the standings. 32 miserable spots was what we managed, but hey, that is certainly better than dropping. So we went from 2554 to 2522. But perhaps better than the green arrow, was the fact that we managed to save a transfer heading into GW30. So let’s give a quick recount of where our team went on vacation in GW29. In goal we went with David Ospina. Luckily for us the Colombian was one of the few that was able to rake in a bit of points. Originally we had Foster in there, but after some debate we opted for Ospina. Foste...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 29 A green arrow!! Drop the confetti people we have finally broken the red arrow streak. After suffering from a run of disappointing weeks we returned to the side of the colour spectrum we prefer. Although it was a small bump up the standings it was still well received. We managed to land in 2554th place after a climb of 208 spots. How did we perform this small miracle? Well let us tell you all about it before we head on over to our team for the upcoming week. In goal we went with Ben Foster. Like many we were left disappointed with the West Brom defence. Frankly it was hard to not picture a clean sheet. The Baggies specialize in defending and Aston Villa specialise in looking ridiculous when attacking. Oh well, at least Ospina didn’t outscore Fos...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 27 The pain that was GW26 is over and frankly said, good riddance. Another tough week for the FF247 team and surely this could lead to some sackings. Maybe we can find a LVG type to help with our team selection? Or perhaps Mourinho can help us learn how to deflect blame a bit better. Not sure what we have to do, but this has to turnaround quick. We dropped 864 spots in the overall and are now in 2631th place. That would be a ranking that we should be immensely proud of, but we all know that after seeing the penthouse inside the top 1k, it is hard to go back to just a nice room. So with that said let us access what led to our problems this past GW and put some of our non-performers under the microscope. In goal we had David Ospina. Once again he did not ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 26 Last time out brought us some midweek fixtures and a headache with it. As we saw our team drop 513 spots into 1767th spot in the overall rankings. However we are thankful as our score of 46 was 6 above the average of 40, so the blow could have been a lot worse. After a bout with trichotillomania during the GW, nothing like running a quick review of how our hair is all but gone now. So onto the GW that was before we discuss what our plans are for GW26. In goal we returned the Colombian David Ospina. Unfortunately what seemed an easy clean sheet vanished into the middle of thin air. As Arsenal surrendered a goal to lowly Leicester. Our back 3 was formed by Jones, Terry and PvA. Jones did really well in the 4 minutes he was out there. Better than that, ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 24 So after playing our wildcard we were hoping for a bit of a climb up the overall. Luckily enough we managed a solid score of 80 points, which was easily higher than the average of 46. This allowed us to climb 547 spots landing us in 1236th place and hopefully putting us in a position to jump back into the top 1k. Three of our players made the dream team for the game-week and although our wildcard was not a smashing success, it was definitely still a positive for our team. Besides there wasn’t too many wise semi flightless birds (Init) that thought to bring in Jon Walters before his 19 points with their wildcard. Even though we didn’t count on the Stoke grey haired somewhat Irish-ish Englishman, mid-ish/forward to score a scruffy hat-trick...[Read More]
Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 23 Although we barely scored above the average of 52 we managed to gain 193 spots in the overall and now sit in 1783th place. After 3 straight red arrows, a green one even if only by a bit was well received. That slight uptick in the standings leads us straight into the use of the wildcard. We are so excited! We usually fight discuss one transfer for several days. You can imagine that the fighting discussion over 15 open spots will not be the easiest. And just when we thought we were all set, Emre Can decides to stick his leg right underneath Costa’s boot. Damn you Can! Damn you! Oh well, our decision on our Spanzilian friend will come later in the article and since I know you have not looked at the screenshot before reading this, we will save tha...[Read More]
