Fantasy Football Tips

The Tips article, which will be released on Thursdays, is where we take a look at which players should be considered for your team, both on a short-term and longer-term basis. While the more obvious football tips selections will, naturally, be included, we will also endeavour to find those hidden bargains and differentials that could set you apart from your rivals and help your performance in your mini-leagues.

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 15

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 15 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 15 We are almost coming to the end of Part 1 of this season. Not to make it sound like a Netflix documentary, but it may as well be as we break for a month as of next week, to all go view an ill thought out vanity project in Qatar. What it means for FPL though is that we have but two more chances to grab some precious points ahead of our enforced break, starting this week. We shall take stock and reassess our articles over the recess but for now we are running sans a Captains article, courtesy of Mr Haaland. And yes he may have missed last week but assuming that was a precaution he now has Fulham and Brentford at home. You’d be brave not to follow that pattern. As such we are back with our hybrid article of T...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 14

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 14 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 14 As mentioned in our last tips article, our Captains article is on a much-deserved break although given that it was booked by one Erling Halland, who at the time of writing is yellow flagged, perhaps we may all be scrapping around looking for a viable captain come Saturday after all! However, for the time being, we’re sticking with our adapted Tips article. In case you missed the last ‘tips’ article, what we are going to do for now is ask our writers to construct a ‘Best 11’, with fine details like budget slightly put to one side – though, of course, there are plenty of nicely-priced options in all positions at the moment. This week we have Smash looking at a keeper and midfielders, Rosco is on hand with the defe...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 11

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 11 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 11 Whilst the Captains article is on a much-deserved holiday at the moment – booked online by Erling Halland in one of the few times he wasn’t finding the back of the net – we have adapted the Tips article to our team of the week. In case you missed last week’s article, what we are going to do for now is ask our writers to construct a ‘Best 11’, with fine details like budget slightly put to one side – though, of course, there are plenty of nicely-priced options in all positions at the moment. Particularly this week. Just like the Captains article used to rate our writers’ predictive performances, let’s take a quick look at how last week’s commentators fared: Swirly: Fabianski (2), Trippier (7), James (1), Perisic (...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 10

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 10 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 10 Haaland + 10 others… We have been a bit slow getting any of our regular articles out this week, and for that we apologise, but we have been having a bit of a rethink on what content we provide on a weekly basis. The sole reason for this slight pause for thought is one Mr Erling Haaland. Essentially he has made our Captain Picks article pretty much redundant. There really is no point at this stage putting out an article that suggests you captain anyone else. That said, it is not as if that is your main weekly decision anymore and so we have decided to adapt our Tips article a little bit. What we are going to do for now is ask our writers to construct a ‘Best 11’, solely for the game-week ahead. ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 9

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 9 With the international fixtures drawing to a close our attention now turns back to FPL, and being mindful that the 1st WC chip needs to be used (or lose-d ) prior to the World Cup we have asked Matt, Rosco and Smash to take a look at the players we may want to consider between now & then. Matt pairs up and compares the keeper and defender options, Rosco seemingly exhauts both the midfielders and himself and Smash reiterates us where our forward thinking intentions should be, along with a surprise punt. Goalkeepers and Defenders – Matt Nick Pope (5.2) and Kieran Trippier (5.4) The Newcastle goalkeeper is one of the most popular players in the game (although perhaps not in England after Monday night!) due to his ability to get returns from a number...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 7 Show of hands, please. Who had Ivan Toney in their team for Gameweek 6? Well done, if so! But, who dared to captain him? Wow, incredible – top darts! I bet you were also joining the striker in laughing at those FPL managers who decided to part ways before going on to that hat-trick. I’m sure the player with the highest possible 118 score did, even if they did take a -20 to achieve that squad. As for those who triple captained him – oh come on! Have you got a time machine or something?! Other managers no doubt smiling from ear to ear were those who either took a punt – or stayed with – Rashford, as he collected a whopping 18 points in Man United’s excellent performance against Arsenal, along with those who went for...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 3

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 3 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 3 GOALKEEPERS, by OddDane Onwards and upwards, it’s time for gameweek three – let’s hope it’s a doozy! (And not the red card or missed penalty for your cap’n kind of doozy…) As a keen follower of this site you’ve of course already chosen a solid last man standing so there’s no need to be looking for a keeper replacement for that free transfer. Right? Well, you needn’t read on then… Ha! I thought so, let’s have a look at the clean sheet odds for this week. The picks of the bunch seem to be TOT, ARS, MCI, CHE, LFC and (supposedly) EVE. Roughly in that order, mind you I think I’d pass on Pickford vs Nottingham Forest. Unsurprisingly the premium picks top the list so let’s quickly skip Ederson (5.5, MCI) who...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek GW2

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek GW2 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek GW2 Just like that, we’re into the 2022-23 season and Gameweek 2 has come along already. We are 2.63 per cent of the way through the campaign and so it’s definitely too early to feel any down-heartedness if you made the wrong calls on the likes of Haaland v Kane and going super cheap at the back with all faith in Leicester’s defence. Whilst the former will be easier to sort than the latter, I look at my 250k rank, reflect on the fact that it’s not far off from how I actually finished last season and prepare myself for the inevitable rollercoaster of green and, of course, red arrows over the next 37 gameweeks. Due to a lot going on in my life outside of FPL over the course of the last season – it turns out it’s not...[Read More]

FPL Team Of The Week GW2 – Best XI For Gameweek 2

FPL Team Of The Week GW2 – Best XI For Gameweek 2 Who is our FPL expert choosing in his Gameweek 2 Team of the Week? Join fantasy football guru Ben Dinnery as he picks the best squad for this weekend… Overall, squad values are already beginning to creep up, so I’m looking to capitalise on the shift to maximise my chances of a significant return. At £101.1m, my squad this week may cost a lot, but it’s worth every penny. Thank me later… Goalkeeper Nick Pope (£5.0m) – (3.4 Predicted Points) I am going against the prediction models and stating my belief that Newcastle will perform well on the south coast. Looking at how the team played throughout the second half of last season and the win over Nottingham Forest, I believe most underestimate just how good the Black...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek GW1

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek GW1 Welcome to Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek GW1 We appreciate that different people will be in different stages of creating their GW1 team right now. Some, let’s call them Camp One, will have been at this for weeks already and so will probably look at this article and say / shout manically ‘YEAH I KNOW!’. Camp Two folk will be more relaxed amd may have an idea of a team on the go and so will look at this and say ‘nice one, that’s really helpful, thank you’. Some will still be in Camp Three and won’t even have looked at a team yet and so will say ‘perfect, just what I needed’. Whichever ‘Camp’ you are in there will be something here for you. It’s an important article and so we carefully ...[Read More]

Promoted Teams analysis – Fulham

Promoted Teams analysis – Fulham In the final part of our trilogy on the newly promoted teams, we turn our attention to the winners of last season’s Championship: Fulham. To call them ‘winners’ doesn’t do them justice – the way in which they triumphed was stunning. They were simply head and shoulders – and then some – above their rivals and were unrivalled in nearly every department. They boasted the best attacking record in the league – 106 goals, 27 wins, 99 big chances, 16 shots a game, three 7-0 victories…the list goes on and on. They were good – very good! London’s oldest professional club, Fulham first played in the Premier League in the 2001/02 season having been away from the top flight since 1968. Since the ea...[Read More]

Promoted Teams analysis – Nottingham Forest

Promoted Teams analysis – Nottingham Forest Welcome to the second part of our look at the promoted teams for the coming season. Following Bournemouth, the only way is north really, so let’s head to Robin Hood country. Nottingham Forest (or Notts Forest) are back in the Premier League after 23 years away. The last time they played a PL match The Backstreet Boys were top of the charts (with ‘I Want It That Way’, fact fans). Harking back even further (pre-Premier League), they remain one of only two UK clubs (the other being Liverpool) to win the European Cup twice in a row (1979 & 1980). Their nicknames include ‘The Garibaldi’, ‘The Reds’ and ‘The Tricky Trees’. They ply their trade at the City Ground in front of a maximum crow...[Read More]
