Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 31 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 31. Ah this is more like it. No sooner has one GW finished then another is immediately upon us. If GW30 treated you well then you only have a day or two of gloating in your office, or home or supermarket, or wherever you normally do this! If it didn’t go quite as planned, let’s say for arguments sake if you inexplicably captained a left back or something, then fear not as you only have a day or two to hide also. If we tell you nothing else of importance this week then this is the key message to remember – The GW31 Deadline is on Tuesday evening (4th April) at 6.45pm UK time. But that’s just between us though, yeah? You know the rules with midweek games – d...[Read More]
Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 30 It seems like an age ago, but it’s time to quickly reflect on the performance of the FF247 team in GW29 before moving onto our transfer plans for GW30. If you remember we took a hit last week due to Eden Hazard’s injury and it worked out ok as our new recruit Josh King weighed in with a late assist in Bournemouth’s win over Swansea – the fact he was awarded 2bps made it all the more sweeter. The week turned out well – we scored 76pts, net 72 after the hit compared to the average of 47, which resulted in another green arrow – we now stand at 39,396. Like many teams, the highlight was Captain Romelu, who like King, left it late but delivered an assist and then two injury time goals for a 16pt haul, doubled to 32. ...[Read More]
MLS GW5 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer THIS WEEKS DEADLINE IS SATURDAY 1st APRIL AT 00:30AM UK TIME (Friday night, basically!) Imagine this: you’re sitting at your job, and you start to feel a bit overwhelmed. Maybe you start to think that this whole theory of “fake it ‘til you make it” might not work out. You try to put on a brave face, but there’s always a part of you that feels a bit underqualified to be doing what they pay you to do. After all, the ultimate consequence for being found out as a bit of a fraud is that your employer will fire you and you’ll have to tell the wife and kids that ramen and canned tuna fish are going to on the menu for a while. Now you have two options here: you either a) continue to stick it out and hope for the best, or you b) apply to be a scheduler in th...[Read More]
Live Match Chat Gameweek 30 FPL News Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 30 FPL News: Anyone else bored of these international breaks just when the season is hotting up to it’s conclusion? Don’t worry, it was rhetorical, and anyway we’d assume a massive majority in favour of the answer “Yes!”. It’s full throttle ahead from here until the end though, and it should be fun as we have double game-weeks coming at us left right and centre. DGW34 was announced last week, although that one looks a bit damp given the teams involved. DGW37 should be a bonanza though with plenty to choose from. There will also be another mini DGW in either 35 or 36. This week is your standard fair with 10 games square and we begin with a Merseyside derby at lunchtime on Saturday. T...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 30 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Tips Gameweek 30. With the announcement of the majority of the upcoming DGW’s we are going to split this weeks Tips article into two sections. We will look at DGW34 a bit, as that one is nearest, and assess which teams and players involved in that one may be worth planning ahead for now in terms of bringing them in gradually over the next few weeks. We will then go on to look at this week specifically and who we would be looking at for GW30. It’ll be a juggling act over the coming games trying to accommodate both aspects so we may as well begin at the earliest opportunity and you can at least start to practice how to marry the two things up into a coherent fantasy team for the weeks ahead. DGW34 Let’...[Read More]
Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 30 Welcome to Around the Grounds FPL Team News Gameweek 30. It illustrates just how boring those international breaks are that I remain interested in MLS and even found myself watching a game last Saturday night, while for the site, the most interesting thing that happened was the education in gambling undertaken by our very own Inittowinit. We now make a welcome return to FPL before I get too involved in the ‘awesome’ MLS and before Mrs Init finds out what he’s been up to with her housekeeping money. It’s Init himself who will be excited as GW30 kicks off as his beloved Everton stroll across the park to play Liverpool Saturday lunchtime. Six 3pm matches follow as Spurs visit home specialists Burnley, runaway leaders Chelsea host the in-form Palace...[Read More]
Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 30 Welcome to Fantasy Premier League Captain Picks Gameweek 30. Surprise everybody – after a lengthy bit of time off from writing Fixtures, I’m back again to do the Capos article. Now, people might say that’s a lot of Guy Sanchez in such a condensed period of time, but I can tell you with certainty, you can never have too much Sanchez. Well that’s not true. My wife and I are celebrating our anniversary this week, and I’m pretty sure she has a limit to how much of me she can stand after all these years. But you lot have never even seen me naked, so there’s no way you’re fully disgusted with me being here yet. But that’s neither here nor there, the point is that I’m supposed to be writing about who you all should be considering for captainc...[Read More]
What I’ve Learnt From Editing the Fantasy Football Magazine Welcome to What I’ve Learnt From Editing the Fantasy Football Magazine. Speaking on last week’s FFSurgery Podcast, Jamie – the Fantasy Football Magazine’s co-creator – remarked that the motive for producing the magazine was simply to gain access to the best FPL advice out there before anyone else. Though Jamie was joking, I can’t help but agree with the sentiment. Having seen almost all of the magazine’s articles at least 2 gameweeks before its release date, I certainly felt as though I had gained a somewhat unfair advantage over the rest of the field. Combing through such a range of articles with more scrutiny than a US arrivals gate might’ve helped to iron out any grammatical errors, but it had the added benefit of p...[Read More]
FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 30 Welcome to FPL Fixtures Analysis Gameweek 30. Hopefully you all enjoyed your international break – I don’t care what people say, I enjoy the breaks personally. Well, I would get to enjoy the breaks had I not signed up to do MLS again, but that’s a different rant for a different article. But in a normal world, a just world, you get to see your global superstars put on different kit and play for the glory of the homeland whilst the leagues take a hiatus. And the players who didn’t get called up sometimes get to play in club friendlies that you otherwise would never see. It’s all a good time. And then Seamus Coleman got taken out by a Welshman and nearly all goodwill I’d had towards the international games went out the window. It’s bad enough I have to ...[Read More]
MLS GW4 Tips Fantasy Major League Soccer THIS WEEKS DEADLINE IS SATURDAY 25th MARCH AT 6pm UK TIME This shouldn’t be a long article. As a matter of fact, this shouldn’t be an article at all. You see, the MLS just can’t help itself. There is a fundamental problem within the hierarchy of the MLS that refuses to conform to certain norms within the footballing world. And it’s because of statements like this that will ensure I’ll be writing for you all here for years to come instead of ever getting a chance to write a fluff piece on the MLS site. The major football leagues are on a break this weekend to allow for international duty. England has taken the weekend off. I imagine Germany, Scotland, Spain and the rest followed suit. Even Mexico took a little break. But the MLS? They just couldn’t d...[Read More]
To hit, or not to hit, that is the question… Welcome to To hit, or not to hit, that is the question… : “To hit, or not to hit, that is the question”… Well ok, it isn’t necessarily the question, but it’s certainly one that we get asked on an hourly basis on the FF247 boards. If you follow the text through, the next line actually speaks of ‘suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’. The FPL arena probably wasn’t quite the context that Shakespeare was referring to when he wrote it, but it sure is apt when it comes to the issue of taking hits! Now the fact that you have even opened this great new magazine probably means that you are an FPL player and so will almost certainly be au fait with what ‘taking a hit’ means...[Read More]
Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2016-17 Well hello there, your favourite snake oil salesman here bringing you another installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off! Once again I have charmed our 3 amigos into given us some insight into some of the questions that all managers are asking, and by all, I mostly just mean me. We will look to cover topics like GW34, Mr. Party, Kun and Alexis. We also address the top 4 where we witness the LFC fan (Kop) pick United to finish ahead of them and the United fan (Cookie) pick LFC to finish ahead of them. Must be fun watching games of their team with these two. Anyway, enough of this intro and let us get to it, let’s see what the fellas have to say. Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2016-1...[Read More]
