FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 9

FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 9 Midfield Misery Welcome to FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 9. We had an okay week last week. A green arrow is always positive and we got a nice 600k rise thanks to our 66 points in GW8. We now sit at 4.7 mil, our highest rank of the season so far… We only had 4 players that actually did anything for us this week so I’ll name them all. Dubravka with 9 points, Cucurella with 8, Munoz with 10 and captain Haaland with 26 points. It is great to have some solid scores on the board but the rest of the team returned 1’s and 2’s which is not ideal. Hopefully we can turn it all around and keep rising up the ranks! Our Gameweek 8 Result We have 0.2 in the bank and 3 free transfers to use ahead of GW9. Let’s go see what was decided…. Our GW9 Transf...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 9

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 9 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 9. We will just keep things simple this week and cut to the chase. We had 48 managers enter, 48 managers who did not get the first goal scorer and only 4 managers who managed to get into double digits. We had a tie for 3rd place with Mfon3667 and LoudAtlas both on 11 points. Tied for first place was Bundeena Bunnies and Spark Plug who were both on 12 points. One was 34 minutes away from the correct minute of the FGS and the other was only 4 minutes away so came out on top. Bundeena Bunnies managed to pip the top spot. Many congratulations to Bundeena Bunnies! Please email us here: contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk to claim your prize. Overall League Table THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION̷...[Read More]

FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 8

FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 8 Catchey monkey Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW8 When you’re down in the depths of 6 million, a green arrow should be easier to come by — however, that’s not always a given. Our team probably needs a wildcard, but as ever, this week it looks okay. Like many, we backed Forest to continue where they left off last season and, like many, we’ve been let down. Just 15pts from Sels this season is poor — he’s 26pts behind this season’s top-scoring keeper (Pope, 41pts), and even our backup keeper has scored more (20pts). Another disappointing 3pts from the Forest keeper and we’re beginning to seriously lose patience. Thankfully, the rest of our defence came up with the goods. Porro may not have kept a clean sheet, but he did hit DEFCON and registered an assist for a nic...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 8

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 8 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 8 We’re almost through yet another international break. At the start of the season, it feels like there’s one every other week — I’m not a fan! Thankfully, it’s just a matter of days until we’re back to the good stuff. A lunchtime kickoff on Saturday means there are no excuses for missing deadlines, and I’ve jumped in nice and early so there’s no fear of missing those predictions! Before you get your predictions in though, let’s check out who the big winners were in GW7! Some big scores this week, with 14pts setting the marker for bronze. Ivan and Terminators both came up with the goods and take their rightful place on the podium. Going one ...[Read More]

Building A Risk Profile You Can Live With

Every fantasy manager knows the feeling. One cup tie swings on a deflection, a rotation hits just as your captain sits and your clean sheet evaporates in stoppage time. You cannot remove luck but you can decide how much of it you invite. That is where variance management pays off. Build a risk profile that matches your temperament and the shape of your league, then stick to it when nerves start to rattle. Start with your league, not your gut Before you touch transfers, read the room. A head to head league with play offs behaves differently to a classic overall table. In cups and two legged ties, uncertainty spikes because small moments decide everything. That does not mean you avoid risk, it means you choose when to spend it. Questions to answer this week: How many gameweeks remain and how...[Read More]

FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 7

FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 7 “Looks like nobody confirmed TC” Welcome to FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 7 As you can see from our header there was a slight mishap last week. We told you all we were TCing the Norwegian robot so when he got his 2 goals, 1 assist, 3 BPS sixteen-pointer, the site team members were happy as larry. However a certain Geordie, who will remain nameless, broke the news that the TC button wasn’t actually active! Oops At least it wasn’t a -48 wildcard that had been forgotten or that we had neglected to buy Haaland so we owned and captained him which lessened the pain! We finished on 50 points which was just above the average but 32 of those came from our captain. The rest of the team was full of 1’s and 2’s with Cucurella getting ...[Read More]

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 7

Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 7 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions Gameweek 7 We have two weeks of results, so lets get to it! GW5 – No correct first goal scorers this week, but that didn’t stop some excellent scores from our top three finishers! Terminators has been consistent all season and remains in the running for the title at this early stage. Another 12pts was enough for third place, keeping them within a point of the top in the overall league table. Going one better, my favourite Portu-geezer DMC notched a not-so-unlucky 13pts for second place. However, my main man AJW was the ultimate winner; 14pts secured the Gameweek 5 winner’s medal. Nice. GW6 – It wasn’t as clear-cut in Gameweek 6. In third, it was an 8pt finish for Teknokun, ODT, Albox a...[Read More]
