Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

Hello everyone and welcome to the gameweek AND the second FNF (Friday Night Football) of the season!

Shortly we begin with Newcastle United v Leeds United which our very own Rosco will be attending assuming he is still allowed onto the Gallowgate following his questionable behaviour surrounding CR7 and his ‘beloved’ Toon last Saturday. Kidding, that man is a pro and he had his FPL business head on and let’s face it, until Newcastle are taken over we’re all allowed to be fed up by the Geordies!

Saturday starts with Wolves v Brentford at lunchtime which will hopefully be a good watch as warm up to four 3pm kick offs with Burnley *cough* welcoming Arteta’s Arsenal to Turf Moor, Liverpool playing Palace at Anfield, Manchester City hosting Southampton at Eastlands and Watford officially being able to use their away kit correctly as they head to East Anglia to tangle with Norwich.

Aston Villa v Everton should make for a decent game on Saturday at 5.30pm.

Due to European involvement we have the three Thursday teams playing on Sunday this week and in fact, they will be for a number of their weekends until December – they had better get used to it!

Firstly, at 2pm we’re at the Amex Stadium as Brighton entertain Leicester fresh from them facing Napoli whilst simultaneously, West Ham United – who will have been in Croatia – come home to face Ronaldo, Bruno, Mason etc etc etc. Tough.

At 4.30pm, Europa Conference League flag-bearers Spurs hop back from across the channel having played Rennes, come home to face Lukaku, Havertz, Mount etc etc etc. Double Tough.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 5 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5.

Historically a new player on the pitch should not be given PK…..Moyes made that same mistake. Someone on pitch should have taken the duty. In any case, it was a good save by DDG.

The same mistake done by Southgate which cost England the Euros has now been made by Moyes perhaps enabling ManU to win the title. These 2 lucky points gained by ManU could make the difference at the end.
Though I don’t believe ManU will actually wiin the title

Hi everyone – was just cleaning gutters and listening to the match on BBC World and the commentator mentioned that ‘Spurs are harrying up the left hand side’, which I thought was ironic, and don’t think the fellow realized what he’d said, but wondering whether it’s a verb used especially by commentary teams when broadcasting Spurs’ matches? I can’t remember if H Winks is still with them, and they were lucky to have kept Kane (otherwise they would have had to use a different term!).

Cheerio one and all – having a very average WC game-week, but feel that I’ve actually invested in the future (at the expense of points in the short-term – pity!). smile

Seeing the match decided to get ruediger from gw7.. Of course he had to score today and haul. If he rises will be tough to get him.

Hope everyone had a good week, slightly below par for me but I’ve got a WC to keep me busy now.

How is this looking? I’d play 4-3-3, only player I’m not sure of as a starter is Gray. I could fit in Sarr by getting Rudiger instead of Alonso and a 3.9 defender and 4.4 mid. I could also take a punt on Odegaard, who’ll be playing CAM for Arsenal’s good fixtures

I think if you want the main four then Alonso is the budget breaker. Putting two 4.5s instead of him and Tsimikas will give you a reliable defence and 0.7 extra for midfield
