Euro 2020/21 Fantasy Football

Welcome to the FF247 hub for the Euro’s. As per our Champions League article this shall be the main place for the duration of the comp and will act more as a destination to gather and discuss it all, rather than being anything of particular fantasy use.

What you need to know

How to play?
You have a couple of options here;

Click here to join via a desktop or webpage.

Alternatively you can simply update your UEFA Games App (the one you may have used for the CL) and it will show up as a dual purpose one with the Euros game on there.

The Rules
This game is exactly as per the CL one with in-game matchday-by-matchday substitutions and Capo changes available between each day.

We expect most of our league members will be au-fait with these rules but if you are unsure then simply ask in the comments below and somebody will always be on hand to explain further.

Or simply click here for the full explanation.

Hints, tips, squads, line-ups etc…
For once UEFA have actually made a pretty good job of this and so we won’t be bothering to post any of the above as articles as it is pretty much all there for you. They have the entire raft of squads posted on both their website and on their official App along with a run-down on every single team.

The FF247 League
We are not running a ‘public’ league for this one, we are keeping it in-house for the summer fun and as such we have our usual ‘Regulars League’. We did post the league code in the comments section previously but this has now disappeared. The good news is that the majority of our usual CL crew saw it and have already joined,

For anyone who didn’t then simply drop us an email on;

contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk

All we ask if you enter the league is that you please keep the code to yourself and don’t divulge it to family or friends who do not frequent the site. This is for the FF247 Community who will be commenting and interacting on here and we would like to keep it that way. Ivan (The Terrible) will be keeping a watch and if you do then expect to be dealt with harshly!

Thanks for reading Euro 2020/21 Fantasy Football

Ok let’s kickoff with defence for GW1. I’m planning Gaya, Lainer, Dias, Castagne. Suggestion for the fifth member appreciated. And slag off my choices too if you wish.

I like Dias, don’t like their group, still not sure if I will stay away from any defenders there. I look closely at the Spain friendlies because I think it is 50/50 on Gaya vs Alba for the starting spot. Lainer seems a good pick up he is good in fantasy in the Bundesliga. Hinteregger is .5 cheaper and is a threat on set pieces so if you are short a little that be one small downgrade you could make, but I like Lainer.

I was thinking of planning one of my transfers Dias -> Varane -> Rudiger to get some CS against the Hungarians.
Castagne, Lainer and Gaya/Alba as permanents.
Then Kjaer or Petrov as the cheapo.

        • Sounds good in term of having the right defender, I am not sure I will plan that far ahead with only two freebies per matchday unless of course you are planning the usage of any chips. Just feels a little hard to have 2 of the 4 free transfers already committed, although the moves do seem like they could work.

Not sure Petrov will start from what I have seen, but I am no Russian expert. Kjaer seems a sure thing from what I can tell.

    My very first quick draft.
Subject to changes after the EL and UCL finals are done.

Yeh i like it. Hoping for a Pukki GOAT party.

      Otieno says:

This is my first draft but it will probably change. Certainly Chieso should go. Not enough red in the squad

    • 8.3

Will Krul start? I would probably bet on Cillessen getting the nod, maybe Raz will appear on the boards and shed some light.

Germany is an awfully tough group and you have the full load of them. Kimmich is not that expensive and I don’t know this for sure, but I think he would lose set piece duties to Kroos so perhaps a little dent there doesn’t mean he won’t still score well.

I like Meunier for fantasy if he starts, but he might not and that worries me because Castagne could also be in for him, but if you are right he plays in that advanced wing back role and should do well.

I am sure all that will change 100 times in the next two weeks before the start.
That Burak Yilmaz from Turkey is the 6th most transferred striker so far. Is it because he is playing on the opening day, relevantly cheap or something we don’t know unknw

      • Probably because they are in a weaker group on paper. He takes pens and has scored a decent amount in league play and with the national team.

First and isolated fixture is also a reason and maybe a big one for many, he also plays in GW3 in a convenient manner in one of only 2 fixtures on the first day while the majority of teams play in 4 game days.

My first draft. Have to admit I know little about some of the teams and may change a fair bit. Any obvious errors?

    Otieno says:

    Chip strategy.
I’m probably going to FH3 when the best team play the minnows and there might be some rotation.
WC should be GW5 (8 teams) when my last 16 picks crash completely in the first knockout. But, I might even max out on GW1 Denmark and Austria and then WC2 when I come back down to some sense.

    • 10.1

Otieno, sound strategy but as we know there are always surprises and dark horses in these tournament. I think the key will be when to play the unlimited chip. That is when you catch up on points, of course if the right time is selected.

    • 10.2

I think just looking at the number of free transfers we get after each match day, the two strategies you mentioned make a lot of sense.

I might go with WC match day 2 and limitless in 3 myself. We then get a WC for round of 16 so that would mean I would have a new team for four straight match days, the drawback of course is if I back the wrong teams in the round of 16 and are left with no WC.

  5. 11

United are so slow in extra time. It looks like they deliberately want penalties shock

    Tornado says:

I see lots of people saying they don’t know much about the players. For me it’s the other way around, I know pretty much all of them, and it’s sooooo hard to come up with my first draft. This is my first try that will inevitably change 82929 times.
