Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 29

Well that went well….NOT! A total score of 28 points in GW28 may seem to some as irony, but to us at FF247 it has completely summed up our season. Rubbish. We couldn’t even beat an average of 35 and thus dropped 86k places to an overall rank of 906,635. Nothing has gone right and frankly none of us will be sad to wave this season farewell. Or piss off.
GW28 in summary – this summary won’t take long, it’s painful to write and painful to read, unless you like a touch of self harm. The highlight of our score was two assists. Yep, that’s it – two assists. No goals scored, no clean sheets kept. The assisters were Payet and Mahrez. Everything else was clearly a complete disaster. Hennessey in goal conceded two at Sunderland, while our defenders Van Dijk, Bellerin and Morgan also conceded two a piece against opponents that they should easily have kept quiet. Ozil did nothing vs Swansea and Ali didn’t even start at West Ham, but did manage 30mins and a single point for us. Our forward line of Kun, Vardy and Kane scored two points each. We benched Wollscheid who naturally kept a clean sheet and then rubbed it in our faces as he proceeded to collect the three bonus points. Brilliant. Let’s move on to what will undoubtedly be another unmitigated disater!

Transfer decision for GW29 – we have sold Hector Bellerin and bought Vincent Kompany
Home to Villa – now what could go wrong?!! Bellerin has gone for now, due to Arsenal likely blanking next week as well as injuries to Cech and Koscielny which certainly makes the Gooner defence as less attractive prospect than it was. We would also expect Spurs to score in this week’s North London derby and with City facing Villa and then Norwich next week we feel we have a chance of an immediate return on our investment on the City skipper. We’ve chosen not to concentrate on the fact they got hammered at Liverpool in midweek. Decent fixtures, no blank next week and a double game-week on the horizon sealed it.

Captain – Sergio Aguero
One of the easier discussions we have had – with Kun home to an awful Villa side, he is by far and away the leading candidate for the armband this week. And even if the unthinkable happens and he blanks we at least won’t lose much ground as the world and his wife and maybe even his dog will be with us.

Our vice-captain is Harry Kane
If Kun doesn’t feature then Kane will step up – he has a decent record vs Arsenal and Spurs will be all out to cause more damage to the Gooner title hopes as well as bolstere their own chances.

How’s the tinkering going lads? Have done my transfers but can’t decide who to bench:

    Ozil / Willian / Payet / Alli / Mahrez
    Aguero (c) / Vardy / Kane

Who do you reckon will blank this weekend out of this sorry lot?

I had thought of him but what would be your justification?

Pros: Arsenal are not in the best of moments and with Kosc and Cech out for Arsenal, plus Dembele coming back into the side for Spurs, he’d be in a more attacking role against a somewhat weakened defense.

Cons: Alli is coming off of an injury and I already have Kane for Spurs cover.

        • Mitro says:

If you played Alli it would mean benching payet or Willian or even Mahrez – I wouldn’t feel comfortable to have them on my bench!

Team for GW 29 – good to go?

      FC Sanchez says:

Looks strong Mitro. I’d be happy with these players.

      • Mitro says:

Cheers Sanchez – is my bench set up properly?

        • FC Sanchez says:

Tough to call the order apart from Alli as first sub. if you look at the previous GW alone, both Arsenal and Watford were unlucky in not scoring more than they did. Arsenal are not in the best of moments but were unlucky not to score at least another goal last game (especially Giroud + Sanchez who had some shots that on a different day would have gone in) so I think they could golazo vs Spurs. Watford were also unlucky not to score in the last one with Ighalo going close several times so I think they could pierce Leceister as well.

      Looking good mitro.

Decided to go with your gut and grab silva in then end then

      • Mitro says:

Morning Hammers – yes mate – spoke to my mate last night who is a city season ticket holder and he’s adamant that silva is starting to look good again!

We will find out in a few hours

    Hi.
    Any Help greatly appreciated..

Having trouble deciding who to bench this week. Feel a bit silly putting 2 good spurs players on the bench but feel Arsenal will have it.. Any tips?

I’d put Alli in for Barkley although its a close one. I’d justify it by saying that you already have Everton attacking cover in Lukaku but no Spurs cover. As I mentioned in a post above Arsenal are not in the best of moments and with Kosc and Cech out for Arsenal, plus Dembele coming back into the side for Spurs, Alli will prolly be in a more attacking role against a somewhat weakened defense. Let’s not forget Spurs are at home and have been more impressive than Arsenal recently in general. They seem to have more of a drive to win than Arsenal at the mo.

I like it as is. Close enough call between Barkley and Alli and there may be very little difference in scores this week.

    Morning guys,
Can’t decide whether to play Mertesacker or Woll?
I think London derby will finish at draw

Not quite the meltdown that some may have expected but here we go, -4 taken and AOA chip used. Feck it!!!

    Morning all
