Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 26
Last time out brought us some midweek fixtures and a headache with it. As we saw our team drop 513 spots into 1767th spot in the overall rankings. However we are thankful as our score of 46 was 6 above the average of 40, so the blow could have been a lot worse. After a bout with trichotillomania during the GW, nothing like running a quick review of how our hair is all but gone now. So onto the GW that was before we discuss what our plans are for GW26.
In goal we returned the Colombian David Ospina. Unfortunately what seemed an easy clean sheet vanished into the middle of thin air. As Arsenal surrendered a goal to lowly Leicester. Our back 3 was formed by Jones, Terry and PvA. Jones did really well in the 4 minutes he was out there. Better than that, he left the pitch and watched his replacement score a goal within seconds of entering. To compound matters Smalling added another later on for the brace, all at the expense of our Jonesy. Another one who looked destined to produce was PvA. How hard can it be really? QPR was coming in for a visit and they only managed 6 goals in 11 games (when playing away) on top of being without Charlie Austin. So again, how hard can it be? Well two goals against and one point later we found our answer. Moving along to our fourth sure bet for a clean sheet John Terry. Yes! We finally found one with Pikey and the CFC defence. When you are having a bad day, usually a Chelsea defender at Stamford Bridge can alleviate the pain a little.
Usually when we are struggling to keep clean sheets or score goals, we can always count on the consistency of our mids. One glance through their point totals makes us think that they are really connected as a team. Looking better than a synchronized swimming team they managed to score 2,2,2 and 3. So 0 goals and 0 assists was not ideal for our high priced midfield attack. On top of that we had our captain Sanchez in that crowd, so all in all it was about as disappointing as it could get. So after that cringe worthy display, let’s move on to our friends the forwards.
The front line really delivered for us. Harry Kane once again came good and considering his price tag, he is better than a friend with benefits. While Sergio Aguero despite being about the double the price of Kane can also do the business when he is on. As he matched Harry with 11 points and signaled to all that he is back. The only disappointment was our fossil Jermain Defoe. As the dinosaur was unable to deliver on the apparent easy fixture. Well we can’t win them all…as the rest of our team showed.
Having recapped how our squad performed last GW, let us now move along to our transfer decision and line-up for the upcoming week.
Transfer for GW26 None!
So to confirm our transfer decision we have – sat still. We had injury concerns over Jones and Defoe but we felt that the squad was sufficient to cope should either not make it and we actually think Defoe might just do so. The overall feeling was that the free transfer carried over, ahead of a blank game-week for some teams followed by a double game-week for others, would be a valuable one and provide us with more options for those.
Our team in full…
Captain
Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero
We feel that a home game for City on the back of Aguero showing some fine form last time out is just too hard to ignore. Newcastle have a woeful record against City and so we hope this continues and Kun takes full advantage!
Our vice-captain is Harry Kane
The team in text format is –
Ospina
Jones van Aanholt Terry
Sanchez Johnson Hazard Cazorla
Kane (vc) Aguero (c) Defoe
Subs – Foster Puncheon Clyne Baird

Morning all!!!
How are we today?
Still ain’t got a clue on what to do with my team;
Any ideas?
Mitro,
3 Arsenal mids? Big gamble, as I’d be a little surprised if all 3 start but it could pay off!
I’d probably leave the team as is and bank the transfer.
Mito
I agree with Kopster here mate.
I know I know!! It was a good move a few weeks back!! Which one would you get rid of?
Either Caz or Wally, but I still reckon I’d bank the transfer ahead of next weeks blank. You have 3 who defo wont play as well as Wisdom.
Or should I get rid of wisdom now?? I have 5.1 to spend
You could certainly do that, there would appear to be a few decent cheap options about at the moment.
Any suggestions mate?
Morning all,
Everyone sorted?
Morning Kop! – Haven’t got a clue mate
Kop
Morning.
Yeah but I’ve been ‘sorted’ every morning of the last ten or so gameweeks haha!
You set?
I think so GP. I’m loving the fantasy cricket at present so I haven’t given FPL much thought, a tactic I’m hoping will pay dividends 😉
Kop
Good thinking. Maybe I should have taken up the cricket after all
Kop, GP. Not a great time to be an Englishman in NZ 😉
I wouldn’t think so mate! Do you have a bat or anything you can swing? You’d probably get a game
Ive put my name forward, apparently I have a shout against Scotland 😉
Alex
Oi oi oi oi oi . . let’s keep it jovial shall we 😉
GP, batting practice? for Scotland that is! 😉
Morning Kop
Sorted as can be mate. Trying to get the minerals together to put the armband on Kanealdo! My reluctance is Spurs are normally poor after Europa!
You sorted?
I think so mate, I’ve given the band to Kun…
Kop, Hows things mate? Team all sorted?
Sorted as they can be Alex! I’ve managed to bounce my 2FTs along for quite a few GWs so in theory I think I’m set for the blank and double. Howz about you?
Kop, lol simple answer…no. To Bony or not to Bony, that is the question!
Not for me mate, not just yet anyway.
Sherwood banging on about making kane the player he is and leaving his legacy at managing spurs for pinochio to take over, irritating little man he was therefor 28 games as manager hardly a legacy
geoffreys – not surprising though
Funny really
As Cookie said in yesterday’s TT, Sherwood attended the Pardew school of arrogance!
morning everyone.
Here is a question for ye – Im plodding along in 250k or something
thinking of going a bit more gamble mode i..e taking a few hits (I mean like do 4 transfers this week), dropping Sanchez for example for Ozil, dropping Fabregas for say Yaya – not sure what else but you get the idea.
thoughts? Im kinda in the “whats it matter given my ranking”
Dreamer, enjoy the game. If you can deal with it backfiring and you drop but are happy about trying then go for it 😉
Dreamers, it’s not a tactic I’d adopt but I’m a boring old sod
If you think you’ll enjoy the game a bit more you might as well go for it.
Dreamers
I would use your ft to start prepping your bench for the blank next week. Your bench wont cover it with Lucas, Wisdom and Wasil. Sort one of them out!
How boring is that for you! 😉
Jeez B-Bash, you’ll send him over the edge 😉
B – Bash – the “logical” choice is Bruce in for Wasilewiski. See if Dawson starts, bring him in for Wisdom next week. Plus lose Fab next week. All for no hits.
bench would then be Lucas, Kane and Hazard with a full team hopefully
Kop/NZ/B Bash – thats for the responses.
still on fence I’m afraid
Guys is my line up okay?? Please help
Forster
Terry Van aanholt Hutton
Hazard (c) Sanchez Cazorla Downing
Aguero.Kane Giroud
bench- Krul Wisdom Boyd Bertrand
Hi nishant
Looks good to go for me mate.
Cheers GP.
its so tuff to be in top 50k. I enjoyed quite a few gameweeks on the top 40k but it takes like 10-15 Points more than the average point to climb higher.
currently at 72k even after getting 7 points more than average last week
Hi guys – Ozil been in pretty good form. Anyone thinking of going Sanchez to Ozil?
I wouldnt mind doing it if you are not taking hits
