Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 34

fantasy football tips hints strikerAnother small climb in the overall has put us a bit closer to being inside the top 2k. After climbing another 335 spots we now sit in 2216. A spot that we are very happy with, but we have dreams of a higher finish. So this is no time to unbutton our pants and play around. There is no room for complacency in the final stretch and with doubles on the horizon we hope we can take full advantage. But as always, before we tell you of our plans for the upcoming gameweek, let us quickly review our performance in GW33.

Finally Pulis, finally! Myhill in goal came through for us with a very solid 8 points. Our faith is now restored, well sort of, once you check the Baggies schedule over the last 5 games one might feel it is time to cut and run. Moving along to our back line we see that fan favourite John Terry was able to secure his second clean sheet in a row. What a great guy he is. In the rest of our defence we decided to play our double Saints defenders. We hoped that they work in unison and bagged us badly needed points. Well we can’t accuse them of not working in unison. They both scored 0 points after giving up 2 goals and both receiving yellow. Nice work boys!

In our 5 man midfield we had a bit of hit and miss. Hazard once again delivered a big haul and bagged us 11 points. Owning and playing him is just common sense and to show that is something we won’t put up with, we also played Jason Puncheon. We thought he would at least deliver a number 2, but I guess he has better control now and simply took the piss. Our new signing Cesc brought the pain and by pain, I mean to us. Nothing of note from him with a very average 3 points. Yet that was still better than Silva who was unable to score a cheeky total and instead was handed a yellow and a trip to the doctor. In our last spot, we had Eriksen. After showing the Viking a lot of patience over the last couple of weeks, he came through with a goal and 2 bonus points for a nice score of 9.

Up top we only fielded 2 strikers as we had to make room for the Jason Puncheon show as previously mentioned. Perhaps it was because Austin had a blank, but why ruin a good story. We went with English saviour Harry Kane and of course our mighty mouse Kun Aguero. Ol’ Arry was able to grab a goal and continues to build up the hopes of English fans who will undoubtedly be left in state of shock when England play like their cricket team in Euro 2016. Our “El Capitan” Aguero was able to do a little something and scored 12 points when doubled. Perhaps not the amount we hoped for, but better than Jason Puncheon.

Transfer(s) for GW34 – Sold Alderweireld, Silva and Eriken and bought Moreno, Henderson and Sterling

As suggested last week we have gone full on Scouse for the DGW and have taken a hit to do so. It was an “interesting” meeting as we thought it may be. Selling Silva is clearly the most controversial move, but was necessary to facilitate our future plans post DGW into getting the Arsenal players we have targeted. This also meant we had to get Henderson instead of the more preferred Coutinho, but c’est la vie, Hendo has done ok this season for someone who can’t run. Sterling was a no-brainer for us as we figure he should get forward plenty in the DGW and also vs QPR in GW35. Moreno comes in as Liverpool have looked solid at the back versus the “lesser” teams – in the league that is, not the FA Cup.

Our team in full…

fantasy football tips hints striker

Once more our team has basically picked itself! The question was asked as to whether we should play Myhill as Liverpool haven’t been in great form, but having brought Sterling & Henderson in this week we’re hoping that they’ll knock a few past Myhill. They’d bloody better! So Ospina it is. We also considered benching Clyne, but given Southampton’s defensive form at home we decided against it. The only other question was Puncheon or Kane. Even though Spurs travel to Southampton we’ve gone with Kane as we’ve learned over the course of the season, never bench Kane. So we’ll have our fingers crossed for either a Saints clean sheet or a Kane goal.

Captain

Our captain this week is Eden Hazard
Little explanation needed really. There were the odd votes for Sterling but we’ve gone ‘safe’ as Chelsea look to close out the inevitable title and if they do so you can bet Hazard will be involved.

Our vice-captain is Raheem Sterling

The team in text format is –

Ospina
Terry Clyne Moreno
Henderson Hazard (c) Sterling (v) Fabregas
Austin Kane Aguero

Subs: Myhill Puncheon van Aanholt Baird

DDG to Mignolet or Dawson to Skrtel

    Schmeichel, Ospina
    Terry, Rose, Alders, Hutton, Bruce
    Hazard, Silva, Mata, Cork, Cambiaso
    Kane, Aguero, Giroud
    3.7 ITB

    1) Alders -> Moreno/Skrtel seems an obvious one..
    2) Do I play Cambiaso and transfer Silva -> Sterling/Hendo/Other option, or do I keep Silva and transfer Cork with Cambiaso on the bench?
    3) Do I play all 3 strikers?

      Hey Milk
If your going Moreno/Skrtel I’d do that for Rose, not Alder.
On option 2) I’d play Cambo and to Sterling/Hendo/Other option I’d probably ditch Mata ahead of Silva (and for Sterling for me).
With that team I’d play all the DGW and the 3 strikers, benching Alders, Hutton and Cork.
      Good luck on decisions!

      • Hey DMC!

Thanks for the help, I like the Rose suggestion..
The only reason I’m unsure about Silva is the possibility he won’t play! Have you heard any news?

        • DMC says:

          My pleasure Milk
Wait for Cookie’s later today article on the team news but I think the “yellow” on FPL is precaucionary. Silva should be fine given he’s been training and one must hint that all those paramedical on the pitch was also precaucionary. Had Kouyate really hit him with that elbow he would be on a “red”! Anyways I here your concerns and if that helps I transferred Silva out (for differente reasons) and surely am concerned about he’s poinst haul!

        • Hey Milk, how are you pal? Init said that pressie is today and we’ll know more but it is looking likely. I think DMC options sound pretty bloody good to me too 😉

        • DMC, NZ Alex:

Shot for the input gents, will definitely put it to work! Mata can go though, too, considering he’s a Manc and I’m a Scouse!

Yeah Alex, I’m well mate and yourself?

        • Very well thanks Mik, busy as ever but life good! Any thoughts on my WC teams above?;)

    RITZ says:

    Morning all!

I’ve noticed that quite a few has got Yoshida in their WC teams, but how are his chances of game time in these last GW’s? Even if Alder is ruled out this week, is he likely to start reminder of games?

Anyway, i’m quite stuck on my WC team atm.. Guess those late transfers every week has seen my team value drop a lot this season compared to previous years.
Main focus is the defense, where I am considering getting Azpil instead of Terry. Also considering going for an Arsenal defensive player already now, but not sure if Bellerin has lost his spot or how much of a risk he is of not starting.

Any suggestions on the defense? Or thoughts on the team overall? smile

    • 33.1

RITZ, not sure on Yoshida. Like your team mate, especially holding Sanchez. I think I would avoid Bellerin as maybe a rotation risk. Also Azpi could be the same, so if both end up rested you’d be gutted. Id go safer options personally. Is Vardy in for the season?

      • RITZ says:

Thx Alex. I guess you’re right regarding rotation risk for both Azpi and Bellerin.
How about this: Terry, Moreno, Alderweireld, Cameron, Duff/4.1M ?

Not decided what to do with Vardy. Guess it depends if i’m going for a 3-4-3 or a 3-5-2 for the rest of the season. The “plan” is to save FT next week and get Giroud in for Vardy and Ibe in for Sterling or Fabregas in GW 36. Then use FT for GW 37 to get either Ozil or Arsenal defense.

    First post here.

Probably among the few who are still left with their WC. I shall be playing it in GW35 to balance my team out.
    Rank: some 11k. Value:102.3, Bank 0.7
DGW players: Terry, McShane, Skrtl, Sterling (C), Hazard, Cambiasso, Vardy
RoT: Hart, Silva, Aguero, Austin [all home games]
    Bench: Ospina, Puncheon, Clyne, Bardsley

Instead of using my WC to plan for the DGW, I have slowly built my team to what I really wanted for the DGW, taking a -4 in the process.

The big question is, GW35 is WC time, and am excited about how I can have a good core of 10 players and rotate/transfer the rest .

Curious to see why so many are holding out to Kane! Giroud, Aguero, Benteke seems to be the way to go for the next 5 games, no?

Hi niko, firstly welcome to the site or at least to commenting!

I guess people are just mindful of what he’s done so far. Personally I’m ditching him this week I think. Their fixtures are iffy and having seen him / Spurs in the last couple I think they’ve gone off the boil a bit. Probably a long season catching up with him / them. I like the Benteke pick as he and Villa are doing the opposite of Spurs and seem to have just started their season. Giroud and Aguero go without saying. Nice planning by the way!

      • niko says:

Thanks Init, lots of familiar names here from FFC. I posted a fair bit there (ForzaFerrari) , but after stalking the success here, was drawn in to discuss. smile

Thanks. Will surely need to reach out for to this forum to shape up the WC team next week. Good luck!

        • niko says:

Cheers Cookie! Sorry to see you wont be besting your #555 this season. Well, we are just gonna get right back at it next year aren’t we? smile

        • GentleBenAKA says:

Welcome Forza! I transferred from FFC earlier in the season and I’m as happy as Suarez! Great community and all the good old names are here. I agree with Innit – you’ve got a great plan and I don’t think it’s worth having Kane at this point in the season. Spurs are always rubbish in April and May. I’m keeping him simply because I picked him up back when he was only playing in Europa so I wouldn’t get any cash selling him.

        • niko says:

Thanks! ‘Happy as Suarez’ hahaha…that’s a good one..

    DDG – Krul

    JT – Fonte – Dawson – Wollscheid – Naughton

    Hazard – Cazorla – Eriksen – Silva – Boyd

    1. DDG to Mignolet & Eriksen to Sterling
    2. Dawson to Skrtel & Eriksen to Sterling
    3. Cazorla to Henderson/ Coutinho & Eriksen to Sterling?
