Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 38

Fantasy-football-247--gameweek38Another week and another red arrow. That’s 4 on the bounce and even Newcastle are starting to feel sorry for us. We dropped 396 spots to 5328 in the overall rankings. Not a dramatic drop, but still the trickle slowly down is really p*ssing us off. Well let us have a quick look at the magical 11 that caused our sorrow before we move on to our plans for GW38.

In goal we had the trusty David Ospina. A nice showing by our keeper with a slick double digit haul. A couple of ‘clean sheet saving’ saves versus Sunderland had us sweating it out a bit, but in the end he came through unscathed. Our transfer for Wasadinho in for Alberto Moreno worked out perfectly. As our Fox defending the box delivered a clean sheet for us. Basically we sold a Liverpool defender playing at home for a Leicester defender playing away and it worked out. Heck if that somehow worked surely John Terry against West Brom would be an easy clean sheet. Guess again, as Terry and the CFC boys were there in body, but their spirits were on vacation with Cesc who left early. PvA our man! With two clean sheets and bonus points to boot, he was certainly a great play this GW. Now let’s move on to our on vacation midfield.

Why in the blue Hell do we still have two Liverpool midfielders you ask? Good question!! Hendo delivered the amount of points that his talent warrants, a big 2. As for his soon to be ex-team mate Sterling, he delivered the same lame output. Hard not to blame the buying of Liverpool players as our downfall towards the end of the season. Never trust a Scouser, never trust a Scouser, never…. It was also a dreadful performance from our star mids Haz and Sanchez, probably due to being contaminated from the utter crap that is besides them in our midfield.

Our strikers were not much better. Harry Kane has become utterly useless. Which basically means he is ready to lead the line for Liverpool next season as his strike rate has plummeted to embarrassing levels. Giroud is Giroud, so to expect anything but good looks and a tight butt from him could be asking too much. And even though he did nothing in this DGW, he was acquired to pretty the team up and he certainly scored double digits there. Kun didn’t deliver his bag of points this GW, but we forgive him. After all the goods and great service he has provided for us, it’s hard to stay mad at him. Now let us move along to our plans for the season ending GW38.

Transfer(s) for GW38 – Eden Hazard to David Silva
You just have to love FPL sometimes. We began the week thinking that Sterling would be our transfer out for Silva but ended it by googling things like ‘wisdom teeth out / recovery time’! We went as far as actually consulting our dentist at one stage. Seriously. The prognosis was inconclusive but all things considered – possible stitches / infection / antibiotics etc and we concluded that he may not play. He could surprise us and pop up on the team sheet but all things considered we decided to extract him from our team (sorry!) and bought David Silva. He’s in fine form (8, 16 and 9 from his last 3 games) and he’s at home this week.

Captain

Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero
A very straight forward choice as he’s in form (8 goals in his last 6 games) and he’s at home this week.

Our vice-captain is Olivier Giroud
Logically we’d have gone for Silva but as Uncle Eddy once told us ‘never captain and vice-captain players from the same team just in case it’s called off’. So just in case it manages to snow in May we have chosen Olivier. It is Manchester after all so you never know…

Good luck this week everyone and we hope you nail your mini-leagues.

    Hi folks,

So, here we are – the last gameweek of the season! It’s been emotional! Would you mind a rate of my team? Just did Skrtel > Ivanovic as the bloke who served me in the bar last night was a spitting image of him. It was a sign!

My main dilemma is on who to play between McShane, PVA and Rose. My thinking is that Hull still have something to play for, whereas Spurs don’t really, and Chelsea will probably want to go out in style. In all honesty, I can’t see any of them keeping a clean sheet, but your thoughts would be much appreciated!

Morning Swirly. Of those three, i would play van Aanholt. No real CS potential from any of them but with Chelsea having dropped off after winning the title, plus van Aanholt’s attacking potential, he’d be my pick.

Just seen a few of you mentioning that Benteke could be rested. Has Lambert suggested that he will bench some players after TT was brought out? Gutting if he does as I just brought him in for Kane, hah!

      Silly me, Sherwood**

      NIN says:

There’s a chance he’ll be rested this week with the FA Cup final next up but, personally, i doubt it. A home game against Burnley on the final day is just what they need to get some confidence up. I’m still tempted to capo him.

      • AT says:

So am I, NIN! Cracking fixture and definitely worth a punt.
How’s your season looking: chasing or leading?

        • NIN says:

I’m chuffed with how my season went. Top 10k should be nailed on, and i essentially won my main mini league months ago. Must be near 150 point lead so there’ll be a nice few quid in there for me.

How about you, did your season go to plan?

        • AT says:

          Excellent, NIN!
Likewise, I have had my ML in the bag since January Wildcard, must be around the same as your lead!
It’s my first season so a top 20k was certainly better than I could have hoped for.

        • NIN says:

Brilliant effort for a first go at it. Stroll in and scoop the lot.. i’d say your mates are loving that 😉

        • AT says:

Haha, proof that this site is a superb tool for making a bit of cash 😉

        • NIN says:

          Hopefully people pay up!

    Nosaj says:

Hey guys. I wish you guys look luck for the last GW of the season, hopefully you guys will win any tight mini leagues that could be decided this week.

As for me, my team is below. I have 0.3mil and 1FT available. I am 47 points behind in my ML and I need to do something ‘crazy’ if I am going to pull of this win.

I’m thinking Fabregas and Kane -> Bolasie/Puncheon/Siggy/Downing and Benteke for a -4. Thoughts?

    • 11.1
      NIN says:

Apologies, Nosaj, but a 47 point gap isn’t going to be pulled back in one week unless your rival doesn’t have Aguero and he goes bat shit crazy today. The most likely route that i can see would be to get Walcott for a Chelsea mid and capo him, but that could go horribly as i really fancy City to trounce Southampton today.

      • Nosaj says:

Incredibly, he doesn’t have Aguero! Unfortunately, I can’t get Walcott unfortunately as I already have Ramsey, Giroud and Ospina as my full compliment of Arsenal players, which is why I was looking at making the other transfers

        • NIN says:

He doesn’t have him? Right, that changes things. 47 points is doable when you have Aguero (c) against someone who doesn’t have him at all. I would capo him for sure and just hope he goes mental like he did a couple of weeks back. If your rival has Giroud and not Benteke then that move looks a good one. Of those mid’s mentioned, it’s Gylfi, for me.

        • Nosaj says:

Yep, he doesn’t have Aguero, nor Benteke! His front 3 are Giroud, Kane and Defoe.

With the mids I’m thinking either Siggy or one of the Palace boys. Bolasie and Puncheon obviously have the potential to go massive, while Siggy is a surer bet to get the points. I’m not sure who I’ll go yet, might flip a coin on that one tbh! And one last thing. Worth doing another hit on top of that: Hazard -> Toure, considering my rival has him as well? Thinking he may, or may not be alert to the situation regarding Hazard’s teeth and that could be a nice way to get some extra points? Thoughts?

        • NIN says:

Another hit just stretches the gap more. If you’ve got good backup for Hazard then you’ve likely beaten him in that spot already. Aguero (c), Tekkers and Gylfi could be enough to close the gap. It’s all about Sergio, needs a hat-trick at least.

        • Nosaj says:

That is a great point about the hit stretching the gap. The only problem is, I have Cambiasso as sub against his Henderson….. And Cambiasso does not not have the point scoring potential that for my rival Henderson has, nor the point scoring potential that Toure possesses. Think I might go for it! Btw thanks for helping NIN and Shotts and good luck to you guys. Hopefully green arrows! 😉

        • Gents – I’ve read that Siggy may not feature today. Perhaps keep an eye on that one. Best of luck this final GW!

      Shotts says:

How about dropping Fab and Haz for YYT and Walcott, I’m thinking of doing the same transfers.

      • Nosaj says:

I did consider Walcott but that gives me too many Arsenal players, which is why I was looking at doing the other transfers I was doing above.

        • Shotts says:

Why not do the 2 transfers for Rambo and Haz instead and bench Fab?

        • Nosaj says:

Don’t think Rambo -> Wally is worth doing for a hit. That could work very, very badly and considering my rival doesn’t have Rambo I don’t sense the need to make that transfer for a hit

    Shotts says:

    Morning everyone

Good luck to everyone on this final day!!

I just need some advice as I need to make up 20pts. I have 1ft and 2.4itb and want to do Sanchez to YYT and Rambo to Walcott.. Shall I do it?
