Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 5 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Photo 23-11-2013 11 44 40The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are now final! This could actually be a tough week for fantasy managers. A lot of the usual, ‘obvious’ candidates are away from home and even those that aren’t have difficult games on paper. Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton, Man Utd and Chelsea are all on the road while Swansea and Man City are at home but are by no means guaranteed anything, facing Southampton and Chelsea respectively. QPR and Stoke kick us off at 12.45pm in the early Saturday game and even that ones hard to call given the inconsistencies of both. We then have five 3pm kick offs and the day is rounded off as West ham host Liverpool in the evening game at 5.30pm. Sunday sees Leicester vs Man Utd and Spurs vs West Brom, both at 1.30pm followed by two 4pm games as Everton host Palace and the big one of the weekend that sees Man City square up to Chelsea.

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck for GW5 from all at FF247!

Hey gang, I’m looking to offload my Spurs players this week and poosibly take my first -4 hit of the season. I’m thinking Eriksen and Adebayor out for ADM and Ulloa. This would leave me plenty of $ to upgrade Rooney to Aguero next week, and I’d even have enough to get Clyne up to Baines if I wanted at some point (although Clyne is doing well and has nice fixtures).

I was considering using my WC this week to take care of my keeper situation, make all my big moves, get rid of an injured player (Jones) and tweak a few things, but I might better off going slow and saving the WC for later. What do you think??

    Krul Foster
Clyne Duff Hutton Pieters N. Taylor
Fabregas Eriksen Sterling Siggy David Jones
    Adebayor Rooney Costa

    2.6 in the bank

Bonus question: am I being a snob thinking that getting a cheaper 3rd striker is somehow bad just because I can afford a premium one? Ulloa is in form, has great fixtures, and will probably make me a little money. Yet it feels like a risk to not have one of the big guys up there… ha, weird.

erik and adé–> adm and ulloah seems perfect (just got those two in myself)
then you have a good front line, 4 strong mids, def seems a little weak, maybe spend some money on pieters to a solid 6.0?? mannone would be best keeping option, or heaton who seems to be raking up points somehow
for me, no wc, -4 will do nicely… but if you were to wc, for me foster, pieters, erik, jones, roo, ade go for me.

Worth doing Ramsey>Di Maria and Naismith>Welbeck for free?

If any of the player rises, I wont be able to do this transfer.

Other major players are Rooney, Costa, Hazard and Sterling.

I like those moves The B and I’m planning on doing something similar. I’m bringing in ADM for sure this week and was thinking about taking a -4 to get rid of Adebayor for Ulloa or Welbeck. What are your thoughts on Welbeck vs Ulloa? I can afford either, but just looking at the fixtures it seems like Ulloa might be a better choice than Welbeck for the next few weeks.

Got 46 points which is 8 points above average. I did some good damage control. Last week I was ranked 2,991 this week I’m ranked 3,034 in the overall rank. Number 9 of my country and most important still leader in my private league?

Could also replace Rooney with Falcao, whom will most likely start scoring next week. laugh

with roo in that deeper role, it has to be falcao for gs potential.. then i realised i could downgrade roo–>ulloa and upgrade jwp to arm!!

Used one of my 2 FT’s today, replaced DDG with Forster. It’s very likely DDG will drop tonight and I was going to make the move, just made it a bit faster. Uncertain if I will use my last FT. Wanted to replace Chambers but there must be some necessity. Arsenal SPurs at home or Leicester Crystal away?

If I’m not going to replace a defender I might just do a direct swap from Rooney to Falcao and just let Chambers face off with Spurs. laugh

Noticed that this GW I had 10 players playing away from home, next week I’ll have 10 players at home. 😉

‘Ello fellas, how are we? What a round eh? Couldn’t believe my eyes when I woke up this morning!!

I’m pretty happy with how things went, 62 points and my team looks set for next week, and I’m not even tempted to take a hit! laugh

Just used my FT to go Krul–>Heaton, but I could use the help and advice as until this week I was doing pretty shite. (still am really!)

    Mr Bean says:

Pelle and Ulloa in for 4pt hit this week.

Can now sit back and watch the team value roll in (bar any Capital One Cup injuries).

Captains choice is tough this week so Pelle may not keep the armband.

Looks set. Bold captaincy! Going for Tadic might be a ‘tad’ excessive though… laugh

I’ve also got Taylor and Chambers benched. Chambers 1st though. You have to sit them this week it seems, whereas my 3rd spot is for Duff, so I’m not so sure. Can see Arsenal winning 2-0 or something.

Let’s hope for no injuries eh.

      • Mr Bean says:

If only i could player Taylor over Guzan sad With Guz in goal, i dont want to captain a Chelsea player, and QPR at home is an opportunity not to be missed.

Could easily swing it the other way and captain Fab/Costa, play Green and hope for a 0-0.

        • jamesimmo says:

I get what you mean, by doing that you maximise your potential for success, but at the end of the day you should just captain who you feel will do best, regardless of the rest of your team. That player may well be Pellè.

          Easier said than done!

Nice one Mr. Bean. I just went all in with some early transfers for a -4 point hit as well. Eriksen and Adebayor out for ADM and Ulloa. Hoping to see a couple price rises this week too. And I’ve got a top secret plan if there are any injures in the Capital One Cup…

      WILDCARD laugh
