Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 5 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Photo 23-11-2013 11 44 40The deadline bell has rung and your decisions are now final! This could actually be a tough week for fantasy managers. A lot of the usual, ‘obvious’ candidates are away from home and even those that aren’t have difficult games on paper. Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton, Man Utd and Chelsea are all on the road while Swansea and Man City are at home but are by no means guaranteed anything, facing Southampton and Chelsea respectively. QPR and Stoke kick us off at 12.45pm in the early Saturday game and even that ones hard to call given the inconsistencies of both. We then have five 3pm kick offs and the day is rounded off as West ham host Liverpool in the evening game at 5.30pm. Sunday sees Leicester vs Man Utd and Spurs vs West Brom, both at 1.30pm followed by two 4pm games as Everton host Palace and the big one of the weekend that sees Man City square up to Chelsea.

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck for GW5 from all at FF247!

    Hello!

Really keen to get di Maria but would mean taking a -4 pt hit with a tough H2H opponent this week.

    Was thinking:
    – Ramsey to di Maria
    – Dier to Duff (to free up cash)

    Would really appreciate some input!

That looks like a good move I think, and the hit should be worth it over the next few weeks. Getting Ramsey out is a big call, but Di Maria has looked good and United are still scoring even if they are losing!

Great team with that change, good luck laugh

I’m going to activate my WC, would like feedback on my team please.

    Current team

    Begovic (Myhill)
    Chambers, Ferdinand, O’Shea, (Chester, Hutton)
Sterling, Siggy, Ramsey, Mata (El Ahmadi)
    Costa, Balotelli, Rooney

    0.8mil in bank.

    The trades I am considering

    El Ahmadi >> Tiote
    Chester >> Duff
    Ferdinand >> Clyne
    Mata >> Di Maria
    Ramsey >> Fabregas
    Balitelli >> Welbeck
    Costa >> Aguero

I think Mata has to go, his job security is not good any more.

I’m getting rid of Ramsey, mainly because I have brought in Welbeck and I didn’t want to have three Arsenal players, plus when Walcott comes back i’m thinking Ramsey will play more defensive.

Welbeck is a cheap option for a top team. I’m happy with his job security now

Decided to go Aguero instead of Costa. Both are injury worries but Aguero when fit is better.

    WC team

    Begovic (Myhill)
    Chambers, Clyne, O’Shea (Hutton, Duff)
Sterling, Siggy, Fabregas, Di Maria (Tiote)
    Aguero, Rooney, Welbeck

    0.6mil in bank

Ok, I feel like I’m really not thinking ahead here and I need someone to talk me off a cliffsmile

So.. I just WC d last week and a main goal was to get Aguero on my squad, but I also managed di Maria, so here is my thought process…

Do I bail on a 12.1m Aguero for a 5.7 uolla to help upgrade back line and mids over the next several weeks..

    Current team:

    Duff clyne pieters chambers Hutton
Di Maria siggy. Sterling fabregas cork
    Pelle costa Aguero

Thinking the Aguero>uolla move will allow me to, over time, without a hit, allow me to..

    Upgrade krul to forester
Pieters or duff or Hutton to baines
And siggy to a soon to be in form high value mid.

Would leave my team with lots of cash to upgrade but afraid of bailing on kun too early, it’s just my gut telling me he is not worth the price..

Wildcard has been played after 2 miserable GWs and a team that was already giving me nightmares.. This is my first draft.. Thoughts?

My gosh we are getting trolled by FPL. Both my targets Ulloa and Clyne went up 0.1 last night even though they were only around 60%. Really hope someone figures that algorithm out sooner rather than later!
Am thinking of a -4. Davis –> Kranjcar. Bojan–> Ulloa. And Cahill–>Clyne. Wanted to wait till Friday but they might rise again so will pull the trigger after the Tuesday cup matches.
Southampton have been surprisingly solid at the back whereas Chelsea have not. So does this makes sense or is it a risk not to have Chelsea cover?
I have had green arrows with a score of 47. Strange. Oh well.

“They were funky China men, from funky China town!” – I sing this every time I see you post, damn you.

Why would it be a risk not to have Chelsea cover? You said it yourself, they aren’t keeping clean sheets – which is the main reason you look at when choosing defenders for your EPL squad. Only then do you check attacking threat, but that shouldn’t be your main choice for picking a defender.

Haha awesome! Good song and lucky for you I am not called Anaconda or something, then you would have to sing the new Nicky Minaj “death-to-our-ears” song! laugh
Okay Flingy sounds like a plan. Bye bye expensive Cahill for a cheap and reliable Clyne! 😉 See Chelsea make 5 cleanies in a row now.
