Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

  1. Greetings FF247!

Managed 95 points, best start for the season I’ve had.
My concern is Sterling and his playing time. I believe that if he plays he will produce but I don’t know if I want to play the waiting game when there are a lot of options for Pep to rotate. Should I stick or transfer in D.Silva/Willian/… or cheap mid Mooy/Groß/Phillips and get next week Jesus for Benteke to have City coverage?

    • Watched the Huddersfield game on Sat and Mooy is a good cheapy was very involved in the game takes free kicks etc and a good number of crosses so potential for assists that would let you go for the Jesus option , because of Pep rotation I think the city mids are not certain starters

      • even KDB ? Last season played most games and was an assist machine

    • Brilliant start.

Not sure why Sterling is in your team, he’ll always rotate around with the rest of the mids.

I’d be inclined to go for a nailed starter and try to upgrade Benteke (though that could wait until next week when you have 2 transfers).

      • Yeah, I’m wondering myself as well why I did put him there. I’m going with the second option and bring in cheap mid, probably Mooy, and swap Benteke with Jesus next week.

  2. Alonso in my team is making me feel sad.

Straight out for Valencia? Any thoughts?

    • Nope. Stick with him.

      • Reckon he’ll do well vs Spurs? They just look like such a dysfunctional outfit right now.

Good result for your lot this weekend, reckon you’ll keep it tight vs City?

    • Alonso can score against anyone. You picked him for a reason

    • Sell the bastard. Valencia could be an option, yes, as a place holder for Mendy. I’m feeling he’ll be the next big thing WB related once is ready! I don’t have Alonso mind.

  3. Would I be stupid not to bring Luk in have Kane / Kun / Mkhit with no other Spurs or City cover ??????

    • Silvers, very difficult one.. I’d like to have Lukaku after his display last night, but would like to stay with both Kun and Kane. Aguero looked sharp and most importantly hungry for the ball. Also, Kane was himself a bit unlucky. If he fails in the consecutive game, then may be you can think of bringing the Belgian in..

    • Not stupid.

Luky looked strong yesterday and will probably bag again vs Swans. You went with Kane+Kun for a reason so stick with it yet, I’ve got a feeling Spurs will beat Chelski and Kane will most likely be amongst the goald as usual.

    • Cheers Webstar87 & Constantine still undecided 😉

  4. A little look at the past fixtures.

    • ..

    • ….

    • ……………..

      • Two interesting facts for spurs: Davies apparently on most of their corners and Son taking Sissoko’s place before 60´´. Does it suggest Son’s nailed from here?

        • @DMC, I think so when someone is not fit, they usually get 15-20, but he put Son in there to help win it and gave him over 30. Suggests to me that he is ready to go and we know he is tons better than Sissoko on this side. I didn’t check why Davies took more than Eriksen, but I assume it was just based on what side they were on, still though a defender on corners be great, in particular on a solid defensive team. Van Aanholt be nice, but Palace need to sort some stuff out and Brunt is reverse oop, so no good there.

        • Great stuff then, we may be able to double up on spurs attack for “only” 8£ instead of 9,5 or 12,5. Probably wont get him just now, but if he starts vs Chelsea then I might. Cheers for your efforts here btw, their much appreciated!

    • ………………………….

      • Awesome stats mito. Whats the source? I know nothing about football and just rely on analysis to plan, using a ratio of point per minute played.

Arrived in India for three weeks survival training in the jungle. Humidty is ridiculous, but base camp has wifi. And cold beer.

        • excellant

        • The graphs are from WhoScored.com but pretty sure the info below it is his own.

How to survive with wifi and beer?! I’m sure you’ll live smile Sounds great btw, have fun!

        • Can the graphs give me some extra points

      • Wow, thanks for these Mito!! Having a tough time deciding whether to start Stephens at home to WHU or Mee at home to WBA. Maybe there’s a clue in there somewhere for me. smile

  5. good evening all, what would u have done with this team ??

    • @Hochoki, not much really, If Zaha is out you could get Ince, Mooy or even a straight swap for Ramsey if Prices haven’t changed. I be tempted to ride that out with no transfers if Zaha is deemed ok.

    • Team looks good you must have had a good start. I’d ride it out and save the transfer

  6. Has anyone made any transfers?

    • Of course!! 😉

    • nope saving my FT if Zaha is ok i think

    • Not yet Smash but i’m forced to look for a Fabregas replacement very soon due to price drop.

      • Yeah that’s the problem I’m having he’s a bit of an awkward price

    • Not yet Smash, just need to figure out the Walters situation first. Bit of an odd one as I thought he’d be a starter but I also understand why they’d go to Chelsea with just 1 up top. A home game would normally be a different matter but not so sure now on the back of a great win.

      • I think it was just because it was Chelsea away. And it’s prob not wise to have Walters chasing back to catch Alonso

      • That was a great win on paper, but it was worrisome how terrible they looked with a 3-0 lead and a man up and two men up later on in the game. They could not hold onto the ball for anything.
