Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

Hello all, hope your GW1 went well.

    Forster
    Mee Daniels Yoshida
    Willian Zaha Alli Mane
    Benteke Jesus Lukaku(C)

    Elliot T.Carroll Dawson Hunemeier

    1. Should I play Mee or Dawson for GW2?
    2. Should Carroll be 1st sub against Man U?

So the first week of 5 at the back hasn’t gone too badly, 39 from 6 even with Alonso’s contribution of 0.

Looking at Chelsea’s next 4 fixtures, no Cahill and taking into account their previous two games, I’m very tempted to drop him for the time being…however, last time I did that he scored 21 points the following week.

Seems a bit rash but I may look at Valencia or Kyle Walker for fixtures and attacking potential, but I also have a long term plan of Willian -> 4.5 and Firminio up top if Chelsea do continue to look poor so Alonso would need to be downgraded to a 6 mil instead.

Think I’m best off sticking for the time being.

@Mr. Bean, yeah I agree just stick for now. He was a bit unlucky to not score on Burnley had a couple of nice chances. Once they got down 3 despite being 1 and 2 men down they seemed to get their act together as far as defending. Of course that could have been in part because Burnley was only trying to hold on. It is strange though to see a team with 2 extra players on the field not be able to complete 3 passes in a row. I actually thought the display by Burnley after they were up 3-0 was the bigger horror show.

Scored 81 points with KDB and Harry Kane blanking. Dummet went off injured and with it being said to be hamstring, i qould guess he is out. Who would be the best 4.5 mill defenders:
    Zanka
    Fernandez
    Ward
    Naughton
    Frances
or any other that’s not mentioned here

    Afternoon all

I was clearly drinking last night as I shipped out Kane for Aguero and stuck him as Cappo for next week!
I imagine on the basis that I bring him back in the following week.
Never log on to FPL after Jack Daniels! … it’s dangerous!

I had an amazing week of 89 points myself but I just wanted to point out to the knee jerkers here that you shouldn’t chase last week’s points! You picked your top players for a reason and their points will eventually come! For myself, I was so close to choosing the lines of Kane/Fab/Cahill but somehow I just went with these set of players.

Keep faith and don’t chase the points blindly, that’s something huge that I learnt from last season

That’s a real good score there Neo, I wish you would have played Hegazi for Ritchie, that would have been an awesome 100 point club score. Oh well, what’s done is done, nice to have him on the team already though and benefit from any price rises, which I believe he already had.

Does Salah and Mikhi make any sense for KDB and Fabregas. A bit reluctant to lose KDB but I have Jesus already. Not a massive fan of the Fabregas direct replacements. I could just bench him but will he come straight back in after suspension

    • 246.1

Think Cesc was a punt on the early games. After that he becomes a rotation risk, he might still play considering how the roster looks right now. Salah and Mikhi make a lot of sense to me, assuming Salah clears the midweek game, but that might be too late considering prices. I would hate to sell KdB but it feels like you be buying 2 real solid players

i wouldnt drop KDB, i think its better just to bench Fabregas and save the ft.
As you say at his price there arent any good replacments

      BennyB says:

I’d say it makes sense. You have Jesus as your City cover, and Salah and Mikhi look like solid options for the season.

FYI, Salah’s price is going up tonight & Mikhi’s price will probably go up tonight/tomorrow night, so if your tight on funds, make the decision today!

      Smash10 says:

Thanks or I could keep KDB and ditch Jesus and Fabregas for Firmino and Salah. However that’s what I had in my previous draft which would be annoying. Jesus could have scored 2 easily though
