Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

Love the wacky numbers in GW 1….

    KDB + Kane + Willian + Zaha + Ince = HEGAZI!!!!

Happy to end on 94 and land in top 25k.

really? but Your link says that you dont have any of those players except zaha.. AND your score is 65… AND you also have Sanchez

NO OFFENCE INTENTED. just wanted to see how you can get those 95 points with onlky the remaining players. BTW… how many drinks have you been taken? :;):

      • DMC says:

Vaskar – it would seem that Corliles hasn’t updated his link yet mate. He doesn’t need me to say this but if someone like Corliles says he’s on 94 that’s all we need to know.
Great score by the way Corliles, well done!

        • Hello Dmc.. I meant no offence truly… it was to mean a joke.. i thought that he would drink so much that he hallucinates.. But I am pretty sure that this is his team for gw 1 because if it would last year’s how could laca and lejune get in there?

        • inittowinit says:

Hi Vaskar, if you don’t change your team link you are basically showing somebody else’s team because it goes off your FPL ID number which changes every season.

Looks fixed now anyway and showing the correct one on Colriles.

      • Colriles says:

Cheers fellas. Yeah noticed my link wasn’t correct so updated last night. Think it’s takes a little bit to refresh.

        • KI says:

          Init,

I think I solved it. I’m a bird, too, a “tjaldur”, the Faroese national bird (an oystercatcher). Much thanks.
And even more to the FL247 team and friends for all the good talk. I got a good setup for game 1, and should be solid to the second international break for a WC.

WOW… WOW… Thats a G-R-E-A-T score considering those 5 players you mentioned. BOW to you.

I appologize if my comment caused you any harm. Cheers

    Milburn says:

Morning chaps. Going into yesterday’s games on a measly 17 points made me think the month of preparation prior had all been for nothing. Thankfully Mr Davies and skipper Lukaku saved my blushes and I managed to get 66 in the end.
Already done Lejuene to Hegazi, jumping on that price rise and it didn’t look too positive for Florian, unless he’s just a big tart.
P.S. That Shelvey is a bit of a plonker!

      Rosco77 says:

On the plus side we looked decent till he behaved like a 5 year old so I’m not feeling too down about it, we also looked a lot better once Merino came on.

From a fantasy POV Mbemba looks like he might get some game time depending on injuries which is a bonus as he’s my 5th defender so always nice to get a playing 4.0!

    Ryan says:

    Hi all
Just wanted to find out your opinion on a suitable replacement for Fab, I thought of the following but any others options will be appreciated:
    1) Mata, he had a good game and fixtures are good
    2) Atsu, was more attacking than Ritchie
    3) Arnautovic, was attacking and alright fixtures

    AT says:

Oh dear, I hope you all beat me. A measly 49 points to kickstart things. Lukaku’s brace certainly didn’t help me, and 9 behind the average is not the way I wanted to start things off.

Kane and Jesus could, and should, have had two each, so I guess it’s just one of those gameweeks where all your picks seem to have a week off and your ML rivals’ don’t.

Onwards. What do people make of Alonso? 0 points having spent £7m on him is hardly the return I was expecting against Burnley! Don’t want to do anything knee-jerk but they do have Spurs next and I really need Kane to score haha.

      Milburn says:

Areet AT. Yeah it’s not the perfect start we all want but it’s definitely not the worst. I think you’ve spent a lot of time deliberating which players to have for the first several weeks so you’re right not to make any kneejerk transfers. Have faith in the players you’ve picked. Like you say on another week Kane and Jesus would have had a brace each and you’d be laughinh; just one of those things pal.

      • AT says:

Hey Milburn. Yeah, just one of those weeks. It was always a punt going without Kaku and my research on him did suggest a good GW for West Ham at home but I unfortunately did that research too far down the line to think about restructuring my whole team (I thought I’d just regret it).

I’m mainly just annoyed that I took out Hegazi and Davies for Suttner (with Foster switched into goal) and PVA.

Would have loved 66 right now haha.

      DMC says:

Hi AT sorry it didn’t work well for you. 49 is half decent in any normal week though so you’ll surely compensate the gap in the near future.
On the Alonso take – it’s a tricky one. Normally I’d say have faith in him, you bought him for a reason, etc, but after that Chelsea horror show and the not so good fixtures one wonders if their defense is reliable let alone needed. I have Luiz (precisely to have some Chelsea defensive cover) and got lucky but I’m seriously thinking of selling. He has reverted to my bench for the time being so yeah, with a game at Spurs, maybe let go Alonso. Unlike Kane and Jesus who looked promising, he didn’t.

      • AT says:

Made 3 key passes, apparently. I’m in the same boat as you – their fixtures are hardly friendly. If I had Luiz I think I’d ditch him, but Alonso obviously has the added goal threat (then again, Luiz did score!)

        • DMC says:

He does but his appeal has always been CS + attacking threat potential. Take the CS one and you’d probably wouldn’t pay the price tag. I’m not saying they will concede every game and could easy make a ‘keep him’ argument; it just seems that we will be asking the same question next week after they get trashed by Kane and co!

        • AT says:

Of course – he offers a similar goal threat to PVA in my opinion, and he’s £5.5m! One to ponder, but I’m tempted by Walker/Mendy when fit right now. Hopefully Trippier comes back this week and makes it easy for me haha
