Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

Don’t know why people are panicking and thinking of wc? I got 56 points, 2 points below average and I am going to save FT! Jesus (captained him) and Kane were unlucky. Just keep faith in your team laugh

Absolutely – and I got 49! You can’t do well in fantasy if you just chase the previous weekend’s point-scorers. The only players I’m considering taking out are Alonso and Jones, and Jones is purely based on gametime and Alonso because I want Kane to bag a hatty against him after him screwing me over this weekend!

I like many was in the Kane + KDB over Kun+Erik camp and I won’t be making any moves to change that any time soon!

Hey Rosco/Milburn.. need to ask a question.. whag do you guys think of Gayle? Will he be a scorer for Newcastle? Thinking of doing iheanacho to him!! He looked sharp against Spurs.. Although GP has suggested me to hold this transfer..just need your views on the same.. Cheers

      Milburn says:

Hi Constantine. I think he’ll do well for us, especially against the weaker teams but I don’t think there’s any rush to do the transfer. I don’t know how likely nacho is to start the next game so can’t really comment.
I know we’re trying to sign Joselu from Stoke (exciting times :straight: ) so Gayle may have some stronger competition if that does come off but for now I’d expect Gayle to grab a couple of goals over the next few weeks.

Morning all, decent week for many of us it seems, great news. Anyone else get burned by Fabregas? I’m thinking of switching him for someone. A bit of chat about Atsu but match reports were saying the Toon were poor. Rosco/Milburn, what do you reckon? I like Mooy but already have Ince, unconvinced by the Xhaka bandwagon, Herrara didn’t get picked etc etc

      Matt says:

Hey Pip. After watching the Community Shield I dropped Azpi and Willian because I had a feeling Chelsea would struggle early on, thankfully that paid off!! Who is the rest of your midfield? As for Atsu, I didn’t get to watch the game but Toon play Huddersfield next week which could be quite open so I’d definitely consider him if you are selling Fab.

      • Pippin says:

hi Matt– wise man! I have Eriksen, KDB, Ince, and if need be Carroll. I’d be keen on Toon for their fixtures, but as Milburn reminds us below they face a bit of rotation. It’s a bit tricky…

Fraser of Bournemouth would be decent this week (at home to Watford) and then I could rotate him with Carroll the next two (Carroll has ManU this week…). Will mull it over! The cheap midfield options are yet to announce themselves…

      Milburn says:

Poor in FPL terms perhaps but hardly during the game. We restricted Spurs from playing and created a few nearly moments ourselves. Unfortunately all the hard work was undone with Shelvey getting himself a silly red card.
I thought Atsu was our best player and as long as he keeps playing like that he’ll retain his spot but I still think there’ll be a lot of rotation as you also have Murphy and Aarons fighting for that position.

      • Pippin says:

Nice one Milburn, good point about the rotation. I would quite like to move early on Fab before his price drops (tonight?) so I’ll reflect on this through the day. The easy pick is just sideways to Willian, but I think Spurs will batter them (Wembley or no).

    Matt says:

Morning guys, didn’t get to watch the City or Spurs game but from what I can understand. Kane was unlucky not to have 2 if not 3 goals bloody annoying. What was KdB like? Stuck him as cap this week but it seems Silva was the one pulling the strings is that correct? Won’t be making transfers this week unless Zaha is badly injured. If only he stuck away one or two of those chances before getting hurt.
