Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 17

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 17. This is our last ‘normal gameweek’ for a while; one that is separated by about a week anyway, without other ones following on in quick succession. The 4 gameweeks which follow this will be condensed into 14 days. And you thought rotation was bad last week?! This one may be more normal, or so you’d think…

We begin with Man City looking to respond to a rare defeat at home to Everton at lunchtime on Saturday. This is followed by five 3pm games; Palace look for a rare home win against Leicester, Huddersfield vs Newcastle promises to be a thriller *sighs, Spurs will be hoping Burnley haven’t quite found the eye of the tiger just yet, whilst Watford and Wolves will both be hoping to return to their early season form against Cardiff and Bournemouth.

Fulham will look to bounce back after their embarrassing Old Trafford mauling against a resurgent West Ham in the Saturday evening game.

Sunday begins with two games at 1.30pm with Brighton hosting Chelsea and Saints welcoming Arsenal before our gameweek ends at 4pm with Liverpool’s annual Cup Final that is Man United.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 17 from all at FF247!

That second Shaq goal knocked me out of the cup… Unreal that I got 5 points from Robo-Alonso-PEA and dude gets 13 from Shaq to beat me by 2 points… SMH

I think I just got kicked out of the cup against a guy who is playing Vertonghen, Shaw, Aguero, Zaha, Pogba, Jorginho, Kante…
    I need to quit now, don’t I?

whats the latest on Vertonghen? Dont see anything online

Ok gang, I’m floundering right now! 2 steps forward 10 steps back! I have a few ideas but worried my thinking is way off so I’d love some alternative views on what I should do with this shower of sh#te!

Looks fine to me, what’s up with it? smile

      • Rosco says:

You reckon!! I sunk 60k last week and only went up 4K this week! It’s pitiful!! That said you’re 8pts ahead of me which equates to 23k so the margins are tight! Just don’t know what to do with regards to the big 5/6

        • inittowinit says:

          I hadn’t realised I was doing that badly 😉

Just buy the ones you want and sell the ones you don’t smile What are you thinking of doing? That’d be a good starting point.

        • Rosco says:

haha you big galoot!! I dunno it’s kane and Auba that concern me. It’s hard to see other big hitters (salah last week and Hazard this) do big things when I’ve had them both and moved them on but them get poor returns! I guess I’m deciding switching one of them back ( not even sure which one now) are you going to stick it out?

        • inittowinit says:

You’re nothing if not inventive with your ‘insults’ smile Not sure what I want to do. I had a ‘funny’ glancing moment on my WC when I trialed Salah and Hazard ahead of the 2 City, I’ve thought about that moment a lot since! I may downgrade Laca and get Salah back but likewise I’ve no idea who for as I like my City combo and want to keep them. Feels daft having both though on a sort of gamble that only one may play, but then you take one out and it’s always the wrong one.

          In short: fck knows laugh

      Kralin says:

I wouldn’t call that side bad at all. Your OR is fine. A quick check on the gargatron – https://www.gargatron.com/ – will show you you’re not that far off greatness.

I’d hold then take 2 FTs into Boxing Day.

The fashionable move this week may be ditch Alonso, but I’d give him another go.

      • Rosco says:

        I already have 2FTs though!

        • Kralin says:

Tinker around a bit with the subs’ bench to keep yourself honest. Seriously, I’ve done that once or twice to eke a 0.1 out. That 0.1 may come in handy, one day.

If you fancy something more dishonest, highjack someone else’s side and have a play with that.

        • Rosco says:

You reckon I should persist with Kane and Auba and ignore Salah and Hazard? I don’t want to ‘chase the points’ but at the same time don’t want to accept I may have made s mistake and rectify it!

        • inittowinit says:

Don’t tempt him Kralin, he has a chequered history with that sort of thing. Seriously!

        • Kralin says:

For a start, Hazard is classified as injured. You should be breathing a sigh of relief you don’t own him. People who’ve got him are facing nights of insomnia:

So two nights passed: the night’s dismay
Saddened and stunned the coming day

Salah, yes, would be nice but your Sane and Sterling combo should offset him.

        • SAFs_hairdryer says:

I’m mulling over the same options but I think Kane and Auba will pay off and then we’ll be getting our revenge!

      • Rosco says:

That’s good that site! Ok so I’m about 60pts off what I’d be happy with… now how do I make that up!!

        • Kralin says:

Just get lucky with your captain pick next week. A captain’s hat-trick can do wonders for OR. You’re almost spoilt for choice with what you have.

Other managers are waving around their left arms for your side.

        • Rosco says:

Yeah my captain picks have let me down lately, Kane’s 5 was ok but I’d have been happier if I’d went with Sane! Such small margins of error seem to catch me out!

        • Kralin says:

I’ve written this before but I almost enjoy the bad weeks as much as I do the good. They’re great levellers. Keep us all grounded. The bad weeks make the good ones even better. This time next week you’ll have thrown off this brown study and be toasting us all. The world will seem an infinitely better place.

I offer you my personal guarantee that whoever you captain next week will get you at least 20 points.

      • Loud Atlas says:

Ooo, that’s a good site – thanks for the link. I’m only 333 points off being #1 in FPL 😀 ! I’d like to get into the top million first of all…baby steps!

      TheDreamers says:

      hi Rosco.

In similar boat as you. I think we need to hear more re Hazard first. I didnt see the games today. Is Hazard a better option than Salah? Salah is due to rise tonight. Hazard is potentially injured. I’d say wait until things come clearer

    1a. Fraser + Kane or 1b. Salah + Ings

    2a. Fraser + Auba or 2b. Hazard + Ings

Im quite concerned about my ghost cup opponent! :straight:
He quit the game prior to gw8. In gw 7 he scored 91 points and a gw rank of 13500 and his position raised 900,000 points to 420,000 overall. To quit then doesn’t make sense and I think he may have fallen down the steps to the cellar whilst getting another bottle of celebratory wine and no one misses him yet! https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/1909353/history
