Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 17

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 17. This is our last ‘normal gameweek’ for a while; one that is separated by about a week anyway, without other ones following on in quick succession. The 4 gameweeks which follow this will be condensed into 14 days. And you thought rotation was bad last week?! This one may be more normal, or so you’d think…

We begin with Man City looking to respond to a rare defeat at home to Everton at lunchtime on Saturday. This is followed by five 3pm games; Palace look for a rare home win against Leicester, Huddersfield vs Newcastle promises to be a thriller *sighs, Spurs will be hoping Burnley haven’t quite found the eye of the tiger just yet, whilst Watford and Wolves will both be hoping to return to their early season form against Cardiff and Bournemouth.

Fulham will look to bounce back after their embarrassing Old Trafford mauling against a resurgent West Ham in the Saturday evening game.

Sunday begins with two games at 1.30pm with Brighton hosting Chelsea and Saints welcoming Arsenal before our gameweek ends at 4pm with Liverpool’s annual Cup Final that is Man United.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 17 from all at FF247!

Despair and die! 33 points with Robbo to come! The gods must be punishing me???
Kralin mentioned being the brunt of a wicker man – but I think I’ve been set up as a giant effigy of Guy Fawkes! The whole of the FPL world is ready to light the fuse!
Cursed and …cursing! I’ll listen to the match later, on BBC World & be sure of a Salah hattie – obviously I no longer have him – Oh woe is me! I have sinned and must wear this Albatross around my neck! (My family and friends do say that I can be quite given to exaggeration at times, but I think I’m just being honest!). And I still think my team has talent -but how on earth do we manage to select talented players who are all having a bad day on the same day?????
    sad

Fwd up of Alonso. Lot of money tied up with him. Him to Digne and Billing to KDB seems fine for now.

Agreed, can squeeze in four big hitters in attack instead of three with Alonso gone!!

      TheDreamers says:

too early for KDB I would think?

      • Smash says:

Yeah agreed Pep said he will start in league cup that means bench in the league. Sane is same price pretty much

      • Kralin says:

        Yes, and Kun.

I’ve Sane as a KDB placeholder, not that Sane is a bad asset.

        • inittowinit says:

Not a bad shout that Kralin, surely more nailed than Sane, especially with Dilva out. My only reservation would be whether they may manage him back in a bit more slowly this time after two injuries so close together, albeit unrelated ones.

        • Kralin says:

Well, I needed to get some City in and saw that Sane / KDB cost about the same. But we’ll see how it goes. Sane is fine for now. I’m also semi-seeing Kane as a placeholder for Kun. I’d quite like a settled side for Xmas, not have to fart round too much over the holiday.

        • inittowinit says:

Kane’s keeping that spot warm for Kun for me also.

I always enjoy FPL over the Christmas period, I like the quick fire nature of it, also knowing that many an opponent will invariably miss a deadline or two helps. Having to write articles and set the site up in between each one can be a pain but it’s also a handy excuse to escape for a few hours!

        • Kralin says:

Yes, Xmas is a good opportunity to take a stranglehold in mini-leagues. And fantasy is good for avoiding the usual spurious cheer of late arriving cards and unwelcome guests, etc.

One of Kane’s appeals is he will I’m sure play more than most in his price bracket over the festive period.

        • inittowinit says:

I know of your self proclaimed laziness but finding having to open a late arriving card a chore is on another level laugh

Kane does bring that, he can stay until Kun can show some sign of prolonged life again or until Jesus gets injured and is out of the picture. Jesus scoring two and Kun not appearing doesn’t help his cause just yet. We’d all be having different convos right now had Jesus blanked and Kun come on and got a goal.

        • Kralin says:

I dream about a perfect XI I’d never need to change, just use my FTs to tinker with the subs’ bench. Swap 4m goalies around.

2 FTs this week exhausted me.

My subs did me proud this week – Balbuena, W-B, even Billing did ok. Shame the former two weren’t on the pitch.

Steady on, constantine! 7m isn’t too much for a player who gets that many points. No teams seem to be keeping many CSs anymore – except maybe Liverpool, but they’re running out of fit defenders…

And there we go, already lost in the Cup to a ghost ship team in which last transfers were made in GW 3 😮 :shake:
