Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3
A lunch time kick-off gets us going this week when Wolves or as City likes to call promoted teams, dinner, face off. That is followed by four 3pm games. Arsenal and West Ham tangle in a battle to save face, that is accompanied by the two worst teams in the Premier League matching up when Huddersfield welcomes Cardiff, about the only team the Terriers will feel like they can take any points off. In the other two similar time fixtures, the Vardy-less Foxes take on Southampton and The Cherries play host to Richarlison’s Toffees. Our Saturday finishes with Liverpool putting a half a dozen past Brighton in the late game.
Sunday brings us another three games. Watford look for their third win this new season when Palace drop in, the other two fixtures see Fulham versus Burnley and the heavy spending Toon go against Sarri with his high pressing, no defending side.
Our game-week is brought to an end when styles clash at Old Trafford as United see Spurs come in for a visit. Should be fun watching Jose rally his loyal troops to get all XI behind the ball, while Poch implores his side to not let them out of the back.

Would it be a crazy idea to drop Richarlison for a 4.5m mid instead (can play a solid 4-3-3 next week) in order to be able to afford Hazard for free for Bilva in GW5? Just a thought
I’ve been pondering Rich to someone like Neves, et al (the et al including the cheap Chelsea mids) in order to get Alonso.
Who will return more points next gw? W-B home to SOU or Ings away at CRY?
WB at home
I’d go Ings. More margin for error with strikers.
Richarlson getting suspended is pretty annoying. Normal circumstances think I would just sit him on the bench as would want him back. However Everton now play Huddersfield and West Ham at home surely there will be goals in that for them so may have to go with Walnuts
Yeah, I have decent guys on the bench too with good fixtures to fill in for Rich as well… Slightly annoying, just 2 games, gonna be 2 precious FTs within 3 GWs…
Yeah exactly. I wanted Mitrovic in for King last week so don’t think I’ll hold off on that again
May not need to get R back though if Walcott continues his good form.
I’m not having the worst start… but need to get Alonso in before I fall behind. Current squad:
Fabianski Patricio
Trent Shaw Mendy Wan Bednarek
Salah Pogba Kante Neves Stephens
Auba Aguero Firmino
Shaw and Firmino out for Alonso and Zaha
Shaw and Auba out for Alonso and Zaha (following week Kante for Mhiki)
Both are for a 4PH. I think it’s a worthwhile hit though
Am I having too much faith in Auba? I think he could still push for top goal scorer when Arsenal click (soon)
Made a little speach earlier on having salah and firmino but not alonso. Not the same players as you got but it pretty much the same Idea….
Fair enough point that. Liverpool and City will always score more goals than every other team Is the flip side
Think it’s coming down to Zaha & Alonso vs Firmino & Shaw?
Shaw will have those questions about starting though…
Alonso bandwagon isn’t a bad thing though, we also know Chelsea will be very attacking
Don’t get too carried away by that 3-4-3 thing.
It could be great but also a real trap that’ll steals your funds…
Its a question about value.
A player like Kane for example: 12,5 and we can expect him to take like 220 points if he has a good season. That’s 17,6 points for every invested million. That’s bad…
Alonso could get 165 points and costs 6,6. 25 points for every invested million. That’s good…
Fill your team upp with players that has a good value. And a few players that you are gonna use as captain every second or third game. When these players could score big. That’s when these players becomes worth having.
A player like firmino, 180 points and costs 9,5 (18,94 points per million) is not worth having if he is not used as a captain quite often. And if you have Salah, firmino will never be given the armband….
I see where you coming from Allan.
With Kane though he is a strong captain contender (just not in August)
Dosen’t really matters what players it is. Go for the ones that you think will have a good season. But too many of those 10,0+£ ones can not be used as captains often enough to be worth it. Some premium defenders are very worth their price and player like mitro could also be worth it…
I see you have very much invested i the forwards and that might take alot of points from the rest if the team that those players just can’t make up for….
Current squad is:
Pickford/Norris
Alonso/Robertson/Mendy/Cedric/Wan Bissaka
Salah/David Silva/Pedro/Walcott/Pilkington
Aguero/Zaha/Wilson
Used up 1 FT to do Richarlison > Walcott. Have 0.9 ITB
Please suggest who could be the next mover in this squad considering there is an international break after GW 4.
Currently I am not satisfied with my GK. I can afford a better GK in Alisson but it would mean no scope for Mane or any other attacker from LIV.
I can also afford Ederson, but it would mean 2 transfers since I already have 3 from CITY. Where else do you see scope for improvement?
Lastly, should I consider using WC in the int’l break? Team is not the worst and I am not looking to build bench this early in the season. Also I am 2nd in my ML behind by just a single point! So save WC eh?
You’d struggle to get a better team.
Keep the cash, transfers and wc.
Keep an eye on Pedro’s gametime but all good for now.
Zaha or Mitrovic?
Mitrovic for me!
Mitro
Too close to call for me. Over the next 5/6 weeks I think it will even itself out, points wise, between the two. For sheer strikerability, Mitrovic. For assists, and fixtures, as well as goal threat, Zaha. There was a good debate last night about the two, if you go back a couple of pages.
Another thing to consider, possibly, is the totemic value of Mitrovic to Fulham. One senses that he is integral to their staying in the PL: if he does well, then so will they. That sort of thing is harder to measure.
Yeah, I get a sense he’ll be like Austin at QPR a couple of seasons back, just kept on giving
