Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

A lunch time kick-off gets us going this week when Wolves or as City likes to call promoted teams, dinner, face off. That is followed by four 3pm games. Arsenal and West Ham tangle in a battle to save face, that is accompanied by the two worst teams in the Premier League matching up when Huddersfield welcomes Cardiff, about the only team the Terriers will feel like they can take any points off. In the other two similar time fixtures, the Vardy-less Foxes take on Southampton and The Cherries play host to Richarlison’s Toffees. Our Saturday finishes with Liverpool putting a half a dozen past Brighton in the late game.

Sunday brings us another three games. Watford look for their third win this new season when Palace drop in, the other two fixtures see Fulham versus Burnley and the heavy spending Toon go against Sarri with his high pressing, no defending side.

Our game-week is brought to an end when styles clash at Old Trafford as United see Spurs come in for a visit. Should be fun watching Jose rally his loyal troops to get all XI behind the ball, while Poch implores his side to not let them out of the back.

    Zed Leppelin says:

Do I just play King and Wan-Bissaka without any hits and bench Richarlison, or do I remove King for Mitro for a hit, or do I remove Richarlison for Walcott/Gross/Ramsey for a hit… That is the question, or rather, those are the questions 😆

      Smash says:

I think I’m going to remove King with a hit for Mitro. It’s probably not right for a hit but just think Mitro might be the real deal and I’m not a massive fan of King

      • Zed Leppelin says:

I can’t see King getting much at Chelsea, but after that nice fixtures and he is on pens now! Tough decision for me, Mitro has City soon… I think I’m not doing it…

        • neelbasus says:

I feel Mitro can score against any team . Strong guy and has an excellent header which might work out well against City as well. Plus I am sure he will be on Pens.

      Zaid says:

I would play Wan and King. No standout replacement for Richarlison… Saving FT will also help since international break is also coming soon

      • Kralin says:

I agree that having 2FTs for over the break is desirable.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Already bought Alonso with my FT so can’t have 2FTs during the break anymore… (it was so worth it though :woot: )

        • Kralin says:

I’m mulling over Alonso or Walcott. The former will take 2FTs, the latter 1FT.

I did have a mad moment of thinking of swapping Robertson (the sky soon darkens for Liverpool, fixture-wise) for Alonso, then Walcott for Richarlison, which I could do with my 2FTs. But I talked myself out of that one.

If I go Walcott I can tidy up Alonso in the break.

        • Kralin says:

I’m also trying to keep zen about it all: Alonso / Walcott is but one player of XI, and neither will be my captain this week, so the damage isn’t going to be catastrophic; and there’s a lot of time to claw things back.

        • secretzorro says:

K, You think Alonso’s output is sustainable?

        • Kralin says:

          Evening SZ

Not sure but if money were no object, and I owned neither player, he’d be fighting it out with Mendy over who’ll get the most points over the next few weeks.

There aren’t many defenders who make me sweat not owning them and he is one (others at the moment are Mendy and Robertson, both in the bag handily).

Unless I have a volte-face later in the week I’ll be getting him in during the break. Will just have to sweat a bit this weekend.

        • secretzorro says:

@Kralin I think other teams will wise up to him & Azpi will start getting on the score sheet. Last season they finished with almost the same points. I worry that when I switch to Alonso, Azpi starts getting the pts. I have Mendy/Robertson too, with DDG in goal, but I might have to change the keeper, lol!

      • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah, I am not overly confident on Walcott, althoug Richarlison will surely drop in price so you’d gain a bit of TV by selling and buying again…

      chins says:

I like your thinking Zed. Benching Rich is the way to go.
I wish i’d thought like that yesterday. Instead I jumped straight on Rich to Wally before the price drop as i only bought Rich at 6.6M so couldn’t afford to let him go down 0.1M. After that Mitro performance i’d love to have used my FT on him instead and benched Rich.

Oh well. lesson learned. I’ll wait for the GWK to be over next time.

Hi, quite happy with 61 this GW faith in mitro paid off, any changes you would make for next week only have 0.3m itb woild really like tk get rid of ralls and i don’t mind taking hits, help greatly appreciated

    banjomaker says:

Really torn with how to handle the Richarlison situation…

    1) Sell him for Pedro
    2) Sell him for Wally
    3) Sell him for Pereyra
    4) Let him warm the bench and play Wan-Bissaka instead (SOU, hud, NEW)

If I choose not to sell then where should my priorities lie? I’m guessing Mahrez? Problem is there’s no obvious direct replacement. Maybe I look to shift Firmino as well to create more options?

    1) Mahrez & Firmino to Hazard & Mitrovic
    2) Mahrez & Firmino to Mane & Mitrovic
    3) Mahrez & Firmino to Fraser & Kane

Options 1 & 2 here would free up funds for TAA to Robertson as well.

Feel free to throw any other options out there for me. I’ve got 1 FT and nowt ITB.

    Thanks.

      Zed Leppelin says:

Number 1 looks very good, Hazard is a player I’m looking to bring in too! If you sell Richarlison it’s rather tough to get him back, you waste 2FTs in the process, so I think if you have a great team that you feel you don’t need/want to spend any transfers on, then sell Richarlison, if you think there are a few players you wanna sell, like Mahrez for instance, I’d probably just bench… I’m looking into benching as well! There are no guarantees the player you buy for him will score you enough/any points to be worth it imo!

      • Zed Leppelin says:

Meant the second number 1: “1) Mahrez & Firmino to Hazard & Mitrovic” smile

      • banjomaker says:

Cheers Zed. I probably should listed the second lot as 5, 6 & 7 😉

Do you reckon it’s worth a hit to do those moves this week? Rolling the FT seems quite dangerous with my awful bench.

And I assume you prefer Mitrovic over Zaha then? The extra 0.5 would be nice as it’d enable an upgrade of TAA to Robertson.

Another much more simple option would be just Mahrez to Bilva, but that seems a touch risky too.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah, Mitro over Zaha for me (I’m a Zaha owner but looking to get Mitro)… Robbo over TAA as well! And Hazard over Bilva for me! I reckon it would be worth the hit, Haz can explode, Firmo unlikely to explode, Mitro exploded already! I just think Haz is a great differential to have now!

    • 220.2
      Zaid says:

Hazard and Mitrovic will do the trick

      • banjomaker says:

        Thanks, Zaid.

I’m usually a little reluctant to go with two budget strikers, but that seems the most popular choice at the moment.

Considering my awful bench, do you think it’s worth taking a hit to fix it this week?

        • Zaid says:

How much cash do you have? I guess dropping Richarlison will be your only option to drop in order to get a decent replacement.

        • banjomaker says:

Got no cash and just the 1 FT.

Sorry, are you saying that you think selling Richarlison is my best option?

I was just about decided on benching him and playing Wan-Bissaka for a few weeks 😉

        • Zaid says:

Well you wanted to upgrade the bench, thats why. Otherwise just stick Richarlison on bench and start Wan Bissaka :p

  5. 221

What can be done with Richarlison in this team? I don’t want Walcott.
    1 FT and 2.7 ITB
