Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

A lunch time kick-off gets us going this week when Wolves or as City likes to call promoted teams, dinner, face off. That is followed by four 3pm games. Arsenal and West Ham tangle in a battle to save face, that is accompanied by the two worst teams in the Premier League matching up when Huddersfield welcomes Cardiff, about the only team the Terriers will feel like they can take any points off. In the other two similar time fixtures, the Vardy-less Foxes take on Southampton and The Cherries play host to Richarlison’s Toffees. Our Saturday finishes with Liverpool putting a half a dozen past Brighton in the late game.

Sunday brings us another three games. Watford look for their third win this new season when Palace drop in, the other two fixtures see Fulham versus Burnley and the heavy spending Toon go against Sarri with his high pressing, no defending side.

Our game-week is brought to an end when styles clash at Old Trafford as United see Spurs come in for a visit. Should be fun watching Jose rally his loyal troops to get all XI behind the ball, while Poch implores his side to not let them out of the back.

      Smash says:

Jones and Smalling back probably to stay

      • Kralin says:

Jones is quite a good price at the moment, considering his BPS form.

As I have no players at all in action I can sit back and relax a bit.

Pogba is still an outside possibility for me as a Richarlison replacement. Very outside, it must be admitted.

      • Gavy says:

Jones is down to 5.3m if he starts next week him for Coleman could happen

        • Kralin says:

Man U have very nice fixtures after tonight. Jones could be all right though his price will go up quickly, I would imagine, if MU keep a CS today. Spurs have a pretty dismal record up there, so it could happen.

I may have a ‘Alonso or Jones?’ issue to ponder over the break. Jones is really handy for bonus points.

        • Gavy says:

I took a hit for Alonso. So I’ll have to wait. Even if he goes to 5.4 I’d take it.

    Which of these is best?

Bench Richarlison and play Wan-Bissaka for 3 games (SOU, hud, NEW) and do:

    1) Mahrez & Firmino to Hazard & Mitrovic (-4)
    2) Mahrez & Firmino to Fraser & Kane (-4)
    3) Mahrez to Bilva/Dilva
    4) Any other Mahrez exit plan?

Or ditch Richarlison for Pedro/Wally? And hope/pray Mahrez (and Firmino) come good.

Got 1 FT and nothing ITB.

      Frenchie says:

I would either do 1) or just Richarlison to Walcott.
Probably leaning towards the latter one as I feel Mahrrz could start this week and that’s a very good fixture

      • Kralin says:

I agree, just do the R to Walcott option. Good form, good fixtures.

Firmino hasn’t been that terrible so far. Kept things ticking along.

Having said that, I would be very fretful if I were a Mahrez owner and can fully understand your worry there. Maybe Pep’ll blurt something out at the press conference.

      • banjomaker says:

Thanks guys. Looking at Wan-Bissaka’s fixtures, I’m really tempted to just bench Richarlison. Especially as I’ll want him back in a few weeks, so it seems a slight waste of 2 transfers.

The problem with benching him is that it leaves my bench very weak. And with Mahrez in my 11 that’s very dangerous.

Unfortunately there’s no obvious quick swap for Mahrez. Bilva/Dilva is the most obvious I guess, but even they’re risky. Hence why I’m looking at losing Firmino as well, which then gives loads of options!

Can’t believe I’m getting sucked into back to back point hits already though! Arrggghhhh.

        • Frenchie says:

I can’t blame you for that Banjo as I think benching Richarlison and playing Wan Bissaka is my plan too at the moment.
That bring said I did this to make way for Alonso instead but you already have him. So in your situation I would try to avoid taking hits.

        • Kralin says:

If I get Walcott – or rather when I get Walcott – I’ll be giving him a run of games, not swapping him with badboy Rick as soon as the latter returns.

But go for it; W-B (who I’ll have starting this week as well) could be a nice option, a sort of poor man’s Alonso.

        • EBC says:

If you’re pretty aure you want Rich back then I would juat bench him with that team.

Walcott will be staying for me though.

      Brookyboy says:

Richarlison only misses 2 league games banjo the Efl cup game this week counts towards his ban.

      • banjomaker says:

I’m reading lots of contradicting information on how many it is! Either way I’m leaning towards just benching him.

Would you support a hit to lose Mahrez & Firmino? If so is Hazard & Mitro the best option? Cue a Kane batty to make it difficult 😉

        • Zed Leppelin says:

‘This season, any cautions players receive will be specific to the competition they were playing in at the time. So, a yellow card in an FA Cup game, for instance, wouldn’t count towards a suspension in the Premier League.

However, red cards will apply across all competitions – although standard bans can now be decreased or increased in exceptional cases.’

        • Zed Leppelin says:

He misses 2 PL games, the FPL site has it correct, nothing unclear about it!

        • banjomaker says:

That’s made my mind up then I think.

Now to decide on the Mahrez problem!

      • Brookyboy says:

Well Hazard does love to play against Bournemouth and he could be a great differential with 3 very juicy fixtures.Could work out really well.Or he could totally troll you !! smile
