Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3.

Manchester ‘the new Arsenal’ United try and do better this weekend in the first fixture of the gameweek when they face Brighton, that 4th place won’t win itself you know.

That is followed by Palace taking on Everton. A match up of two low to mid table two teams tied for top of the league on points.

West Brom will be looking to get their first point of the season when they play host to Chelsea. The Baggies forwards will be on high alert in case the Chelsea keeper is looking for his second assist of the season.

In the last game of the day Burnley will take on Southampton and their revolutionary tactics.

Sunday sees four more fixtures all nicely spread out. The early game pits a team headed back to the Championship in Sheffield United versus a team who just came from the Championship in Leeds, should be a fun watch. Leeds will do their best to make it a 4-3 game while The Blades do their best to make it a -4 to -3 game.

Spurs versus Toon is next on the Sunday menu where the on, off, back on Son train will look to reward his fickle owners and the loyalists who were with him from day one.

Man City then takes on first place Leicester in what should be an intriguing game.

The last of the bunch on this second day of action pits the mighty Hammers (heehee) vs Jimi and the Wolves.

Monday arrives with a two game meal and once again they’re conveniently spread out for us. The first is the bad appetizer in Fulham going up against Villa. But it’s ok, you went to the restaurant for the steak not the appetizer. And that steak will taste delicious as Liverpool sends Arsenal fans back to the cave where they belong as chants of ‘Arteta is not your saviour’ can be heard from the Kloppites.

The games in full…

You want to see something funny, go through the first couple of posts in pages 1-3 or so. All that optimism. :slaphead:

    We were all so naive.

Grading my Love/hate/not sure from last week.

Bamford. Said I hated him, I feel a little unlucky with him as he scored really late, but the reason I wasn’t liking him was because he wasn’t getting shots up and was barely touching the ball. He didn’t touch it a heck of a lot, but did get 4 shots up. I still am a little shaky on him, but if I owned him I wouldn’t be selling him until he cools off.

Werner. Said I Loved him. Another sad points haul from him. Was certainly a big miss this weekend. There will be a fire sale on him now to add to what was already going on with people moving him on. I myself might sell him now, just can’t seem to get rolling it would help if they played him as a CF or played someone like Giroud up top with him.

Everton assets: Said I loved them, think that for the most part worked out well.

Lamptey: Said I loved him, another one that feels like I did ok on.

Son and Kane: Said not sure. I was worried that they would not score enough as a team to make it worthwhile owning both players. I hate that Son got hurt, but the problem for now is still there. The outlier was Saints and Spurs look more like a team that will grind wins instead of a team that will score 3 goals or so.

Podence: Said not sure. My biggest concern was his minutes. Hard to judge that since he was injured. But the concern was the XI they went with would be the same even with Podence fit. I think him missing yesterday and not being part of that embarrassment helps his case when fit.

Man U assets. Begrudgingly love. They looked terrible, but they scored 3 goals, so it was a success as far as I am concerned. They are erratic, but we all know that. Yet despite their inconsistencies they have a lot of pace and attacking talent, they will score even when they don’t play well. I said stay away from that defence and if it was not obvious before I said it, it should be now, they are Chelsea bad at defending by the looks of it.

Anyway, a few hits, a few misses and some left to be determined.

How does this look for a WC? 0.5m

Thinking Bamford – Adams (good fixture)

Maybe use the 0.5m to upgrade defence

Downgrade Rashford and use the cash elsewhere.

Potentially need some wolves but I’m not sure after the weekend.

@Rip, surely the Wolves thing is one off, bit like City, you just chalk it up to a bad day and probably continue to trust their players. Think Wolves has shown us to be a steady side, now if they have another bad performance or two I start to worry. I wouldn’t let yesterday deter me from getting Wolves players if that was your plan.

Bamford to Adams feels like a good transfer based on fixtures, I wouldn’t oppose it for my own team if I had Bamford. My only problem with your defence is that Mitchell and Dunne might be dropped soon, so I get what you are saying about upgrading the defence, but looking through fpl is not like there is a great option there, you have the best one in Lamptey. I think you need one that plays all the time, but not like one is standing out just yet.

I think I would try and upgrade the 4th mid. May be you can split the value in e.g. Rashford to 2 mid priced players?
