We have no less than 14 games to contend with this week which means that 8 teams have a double. If this is news to you at this stage then you’re waaaaaaay behind the curve. Man City go first again as they host Spurs in what is one of their two perceived ‘tough’ games and it’s fair to say it could be a title decider, in theory. We then have 4 games at 3pm; Jekyll and Hyde Bournemouth host a similarly unpredictable Fulham, Huddersfield bend over for Watford, West Ham and Leicester argue over which one could now care less and Wolves will be fearful of the Irish Ronaldo aka Duffy as Brighton visit the Midlands. Newcastle celebrate being ‘safe’ in the late game against Southampton who are hoping to have a similar party of their own anytime soon.

There are 3 games on Sunday but oddly 2 of them clash at 4pm. Everton and Man United is the early outlier before Arsenal enjoy home comforts against Palace and then finally Liverpool get their chance to respond to whatever City did by hammering Cardiff.

Monday completes the set of 10 ‘normal’ games with Chelsea hosting Burnley and many a fantasy manager will be hiding behind the settee having sold Hazard for someone far less expensive just because they have two games in a week.

Speaking of which… the ‘doubles’ begin on Tuesday with Spurs v Brighton and Watford v Southampton followed on Wednesday by Wolves hosting Arsenal, before Man City’s second ‘title decider’ in one week (unless they already stuffed the first one up!) as they visit Man United.

The games in full…

What a fun end of season! MC and LIV battling it out to the last minute for top spot and 1 point between the 3rd, 4th and 5th places. Who will miss out on CL?

Of the top 6, Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal. As a Utd fan, I don’t have much hope for the rest of the season – though would love them to get a surprise victory over City later in the week! I’m hoping the shocker on Sunday has given them a wake-up call.

Guys I’m thinking Erik and Wilson to milivojevic and firmino for a hit. What do ye think?

      • Kralin says:

Dunno. Milivojevic is all right but someone like Jota or the infamous Ward-Prowse may get you more points. Firmino side of the equation fine.

Are you on Mane or Salah as captain?

Any other options to consider for TC apart from the obvious Salah/mane next week?

Not sure. I could lose Erik and son for salah and Brooks I suppose, not sure I want to lose both though. Do u spot any other way?

Erikson and Mane for Salah and Deulo? Somehow I don’t think we will see an incredible number of points from Erikson.

      I would not ditch Son.

I think your covering Salah with Firmino and TAA should be ok. Provided they play, of course. Mane has been in really excellent form and had he netted v Cardiff I think a lot more people would be eyeing him as captain.

I can’t make my mind up between the two. In terms of my ML it’s irrelevant but in terms of OR I could come a real cropper if it goes wrong. I probably need to work out the meaningful ownership of both, how many people have TC left, etc, but the thought of doing that exhausts me.

I think for many looking to bring in Salah/Mane/Firmino it will either be a hit or two or a straight swap for Sterling or Kun. In my case I have Salah and TAA and have to weigh up whether a free transfer of Sterling to Mane is worth it. With 0.0itb it’s also one way only.

      Kralin says:

Maybe if Sterling starts v Man U – which you’d think was likely – then there’s an outside chance he could start the Burnley game on the bench. Having those three Liverpool attackers is a nice position to be in. I appreciate though it’s a don’t look back type of move.

      • AJW says:

Or a ‘Look Back in Anger’ situation for him afterwards. I don’t think we’ve heard the last of ‘kitchen sink dramas’ in this season’s end! There’ll be loads of us angry young men by the time the title is won and lost! (‘When the hurly-burly’s done, when the battle’s lost and won’, as the weird sisters in the Scottish play might say!). Having said all this, I wish you a pleasant evening one and all! smile

        • Kralin says:

A grim stroll, fag in hand, over a smouldering moor, cursing Alison’s ironing and the ma-in-law…there’s an article in there somewhere, Cliff AJW.

        • AJW says:

Hahaha Kralin – I knew I could count on you! Subtext is everything in these scenes! As in FPL! Here’s to John O!
