Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 38
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Gameweek 38. That’s your lot folks! Well, it will be in about 3 hours anyway… GW38 always seems so brutal. We are used to game-weeks spanning 3-4 days, sometimes even 6 or 7. And then when it really comes down to the final reckoning we are all lined up in front of the FPL firing squad and shot at for 90 short minutes as if we’d just been caught in Malaysia with a gram or two in our back pockets. And it’s a bit of an odd one to call as nearly all matters are sorted, barring a couple of highly unlikely goal difference swings. And we are talking huge ones here – a Liverpool draw and a Chelsea 16-0 win. And a Saints loss, a Swansea win and a 10 goal swing. The Saints do however face Man City so you just never know! But being realistic it’s all done and dusted. The main talking points will probably centre around rotation and regardless of what nonsense the managers trotted out in their press conferences about ‘playing until the end with professionalism’ there will be rotation aplenty. There’s usually a fair few goals on the last day too. Here’s hoping your amongst them.
Many thanks to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on Live Match Chat each week, it’s the fun end of the FPL week, indeed it’s the action end of it. We appreciate every single comment :worthy:

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 38 from all at FF247!
Did you guys notice the guy who was world number 1 for about 20 gws slipped to number 3 in the last gw. Shows how hard on u this game could be.
Cheers everyone, I don’t post much here but I have been here for years now reading every article. I had an ok season myself this season finishing at little over 100k. I thoroughly enjoy everything that this site does, I won’t be able to thank you guys enough. Would be looking forward to world cup fantasy now
I did it!!! Woohoo!!! Couldn’t have done it without you guys, great site, great people. Thanks ever so much.
One point. How sweet!
Sooooooo sweet! Thanks GP
You did it mate. Not us.
Congratulations!
Thanks GP. And congrats on your OR – outstanding and fully deserved.
Brilliant GentleBen!!
Thanks Cookie. Thanks for all your advice this year.
Morning guys
Just wanna say a big thanks for such an amazing site.
Not posted enough this year but check in daily for great articles and chat
Had a bumpy ride this year with one of my worst ranks, however rose steadily from 3.7m to around 600k thanks to you guys.
Can’t wait for World Cup fantasy footie !!!
Good morning everyone.
Well done to everyone for making it through to the end! At times it was exhausting, frustrating, annoying – at other times it was fun and working well and all was good. That is FPL – ups and downs, highs and lows. But it is only a game – one we take seriously, but a game nonetheless.
From a personal point of view, it is always great to read the complimentary and gracious comments some have made. We love to see how your ML ended (hopefully well in most cases!) and how your ranking improved…or other.
It’s especially great to see folk post personal bests – whether that is top 1k or top 200k – a personal best is a personal best and should be celebrated!
From a performance point of view, I would like to highlight 3 people – and I make no apologies for singling them out.
Horse, GP & Init had particularly fantastic seasons.
Horse finished 224, GP 266 & Init 914 – all magnificent achievements and fully deserved by all 3 who you all know well. Whereas Horse had a disappointing final day, a finish of 224 is something most of us can only aspire do and we continue to do so.
GP’s rank was a PB and no-one is more deserving of such an achievement as GP who comes on site as much as he can and selflessly helps as many folk as he possibly has time for.
Init’s rank continues to build a template of how to play the game – in 11 seasons it is his 5th top 7k rank and there is another just outside the top 10k! Boringly consistent or master FPL manager – maybe both
Congrats to all 3 and indeed you all for ALL your contributions to the site this season. As much work as it is behind the scenes to bring you fresh content, the site is nothing without you and every contribution, every comment, every helpful advice to an RMT is massively appreciated and makes the site what it is.
Here’s to next season!
Well done Cookie and thanks to you and everybody involved for everything you do it’s appreciated ! Also well done to Innit Horse and GP on such great ranks.
Tough season for me but lessons I hope have been learnt and I can’t wait for the new season.
Couple of weeks off to rest the brain cells then bring on the World Cup !!
Cookie
Thank you very much.
Your points about individual goals is bang on.
And also about just how good the site is.
Enjoy your summer pal.
He still thinks he isn’t doing any WC articles! #delusional
Let him have a week before you drop the bomb.
let’s catch up in August 😉
First of all, big thanks to the site and writers for all the articles over the year – always humorous, well written and most importantly useful. Also a big thanks to the regulars who are always willing to offer their two cents on people’s dillema’s.
I myself spent most of this year ignoring all the advice I received from people on the site to ‘spend less in defence’ as I was on a mission to prove the value in a solid 5 man premium backline – while I stand by the concept I am willing to accept that Bertrand and Cedric do not constitute premium options and that ultimately was my downfall.
Unfortunately I lost a 57 point lead in the final 2 weeks of my ML so no cash prizes this year but have played through the whole season for only the 2nd time in 6/7 years so still a lot to learn.
Many thanks all!
I thought I would let the dust settle after yesterday before commenting but I want to echo the words of everyone else on the thread when I say a massive thanks to all those who write the articles and put a massive effort into making this site what it is! I really appreciate the support and comments from those who run the site and those who join in the discussions! I get a lot of comments on my teams when I post every week and I do try to give advice of my own when I can (all be it not as much as others).
I’ve been playing fpl for 10 years now and migrated to this site from fantasy football cheat a few years back now! I can safely say this is the best I have seen the site and those on it are so friendly and helpful (banter aside) which really makes a cracking community!
I’ve had my best finish to a fpl season, finishing 9,400 so happy to be in the top 10k. I’ve also won all my mini leagues, with the exception of the ff247 league but you can’t win them all, well unless you finish 1st overall!
Already looking forward to next season although our baby was due last Wednesday and has still yet to arrive so am wondering how many decisions I’ll make (rightly or wrongly) in a sleep deprived haze!
Well done everyone and thanks to all once again!
Well done igy
You need to get out of that top league, it ruins your perfect spread
Great stuff and rank Iggy. All the best with the baby too. Is it your first? You’ll make good and bad FPL decisions as a result and most certainly you’ll be doing then at 3 am!!
